Continuity mistake: When Eric and Debbie are looking out the window at the cops, Eric is lightly pushing down on the blinds. He is pushing the blinds down in the center of the window. In the next shot he is pushing the blinds down much harder at the bottom of the window. (00:55:00)
Continuity mistake: When Debbie is putting Mac, who is hidden in a teddy suit, into the back of her mum's car, as her and Eric leave to go to Brittany's birthday party, the car window changes from halfway rolled up, to fully rolled up between shots. (00:57:55)
Continuity mistake: When Eric and Debbie are at McDonalds, they give Brittany two presents, putting them on the corner of the table. However when MAC extends his arm to get the drink, the presents are no longer there. They then keep appearing and disappearing. (01:00:45)
Revealing mistake: When Eric and Debbie enter McDonalds, they go to a table and then Courtney comes over and gives them a drink each, however it is clear that the cups are empty, as they are clear and move around lightly and make hollow sounding noises. (01:01:00)
Revealing mistake: A wire can briefly be seen on MAC, as he does the flips in the air, in McDonalds, in the teddy suit. (01:02:55)
Audio problem: In McDonalds, when the cops come in after MAC, Mike is getting pushed by them, as they try to pass, and he shouts "What's he done wrong." yet his mouth clearly says otherwise. (01:04:00)
Revealing mistake: When Eric is riding through the hills and fields away from the cops, with MAC in his lap, ramps can be seen to help him with maneuvering his wheelchair easily. (01:04:15)
Audio problem: When Eric is riding through the shopping centre, away from the cops, his mum is riding the escalator when she hears him. She then says "Excuse me, I'll be right back," but her mouth says something else. (01:06:40)
Continuity mistake: In the van chase scene, Mike is hanging out of the window trying to pick up Eric in his wheelchair, as they flee from the running cops. As Mike tries to pick up Eric, his sunglasses keep disappearing and reappearing. (01:07:15)
Continuity mistake: When Mike is getting ready to pick up Eric and haul him into the van as they flee from the cops, in exterior shots Debbie is leaning out of the window, but in interior shots of the van, she is sitting inside, and the van window is closed as well. (01:07:20)
Continuity mistake: After offering MAC the drinks of water, Eric pulls the drink away from him twice. (01:08:05)
Visible crew/equipment: In the desert, after MAC communicates, he stands and points, and then Eric, Debbie and the others drive him away. However, in the shot where he stands and points, the outline of the puppeteers hand through the red shirt is very visible. It is also visible at other points as well. (01:13:15)
Continuity mistake: When Eric and the others find the MACs' in the old mine, they give them drinks. The MAC by Eric then begins to stand up. Between shots a long strip of black bin liner appears over his legs. (01:18:50)
Continuity mistake: When Mac's on the windshield and the car starts to dodge cars, one shot from inside the car shows the alien has disappeared.
Revealing mistake: Supposedly Mac makes the unplugged TV work with his energy, and Eric looks at it in awe and inspects its loose cables. But if you look at the right side of the TV, you'll see there's another black cable coming out of it hidden among the cardboard boxes, which makes the whole trick work.
Continuity mistake: During the dance at McDonalds tables and chairs suddenly disappear from the place and are replaced by dancers.
Revealing mistake: When Eric falls off the cliff and into the water, you can see in the overhead shot that Eric is a dummy.
Continuity mistake: When Eric is about to wake up from his coma his jacket swaps from very open to slightly open between shots.
Revealing mistake: After the vacuum cleaner scene, Eric tilts the Coke can completely to give some to Mac but no liquid falls out, revealing it's empty.
Continuity mistake: When Eric wakes up and follows the remote controlled car his hair is messy but in a close-up it's perfectly brushed.
