Factual error: When Dana first arrives at her apartment building, you can see a view of her getting ready to cross the street the front door from above, and the demon dog statue's head is in the shot, looking down. If that building is as high as they make it out to be, the distance between the dog, which is on the roof, and the street would be a lot more than it is in the shot. You probably wouldn't even be able to see Dana from that height. (00:16:50)
Continuity mistake: When Dana returns to her apartment (the first time we see her do so) she is carrying a bag of groceries. The contents at the top of the grocery bag change with each shot: one time celery, then bread, then eggs, etc. (00:17:00)
Continuity mistake: When the eggs pop out of her bag and start cooking on the counter, they're in different positions depending on whether it's a close up or wide shot. (00:18:55)
Continuity mistake: Dana witnesses the horrific appearance of Zool inside the fridge, and as she tells the Ghostbusters, slammed the refrigerator door shut and left. However, when Peter talks to her in the living room after he checked the fridge himself, you can see that the items on the table (the one by the TV she watched the commercial from) have been radically rearranged, something she surely wouldn't do leaving in a hurry. Continuity mistake: During the flying eggs scene, the lettuce on the right changes shape and position between angles. (00:19:20)
Continuity mistake: When the eggs are flying in Dana's kitchen, she approaches the counter and comes inches away from it, yet from a wider angle she is several meters away. (00:19:20)
Revealing mistake: When the eggs are popping out onto the counter in Dana's apartment, if you look closely you can see the the levers in the egg carton flipping each one out. (00:19:30)
Continuity mistake: When Dana opens the door of her refrigerator and sees the temple with a terror dog, the shelf has a bottle with a green cap and a jar with a white lid at the end of it, but when Dana slams the refrigerator after the dog says "Zuul!", both items have disappeared. (00:20:00)
Revealing mistake: When Dana opens her fridge and a demonic dog opens its jaws to growl "Zuul!", you can literally see the outline of the lightbulb in the hound's throat. (00:20:10)
Continuity mistake: After the library scene, while the three scientists are walking and talking, a woman in a striped blue and yellow sweater passes by Egon, but disappears in the immediate next angle. (00:21:35)
Visible crew/equipment: When Dana arrives at the Ghostbusters' office, a crew member can be seen moving behind the filing cabinets behind where Janine is sitting. It could be Venkman, but even after Venkman walks over to Dana, there's still a rogue hand there, showing us it wasn't Venkman and was a crew member. (00:22:10)
Continuity mistake: Egon is done testing Dana with the electrodes on her temples. He walks past her pronouncing a line; " I wouldn't rule out clarvoyance." There's a cut during the sentence, and in the first shot Dana is looking up at him, in the second she is looking at the floor. (00:23:20)
Continuity mistake: Dana is at the Ghostbusters' who just tested her with a device. When she says that she does not believe in 'those things', Ego picked up a cheez-it and brings it to his mouth. In the next shot he's not the one with a snack to his mouth, Ray is. (00:23:25)
Continuity mistake: When Peter sets foot into Dana's house, in the establishing shot of the room you can see two pink pillows on the armchair. Between their first and second appearance the pinker one in front has slumped. (00:24:15)
Continuity mistake: When Venkman is going into Dana's apartment for the first time, he plays a few notes on the piano. He does not fully open the piano key cover (just enough to play the notes). The next shot (or a few later) you can see the piano key cover completely off. (00:24:25)
Revealing mistake: The hotel where the Ghostbusters conduct their first sorta-successful disinfestation is supposed to be called "Sedgewick Hotel." However when the trio enters the hallway, through the window you can see the sign "Biltmore's Cleaners", and to the left "One Bunker Hill." The real hotel in Los Angeles used for the movie shoot is the Millennium Biltmore, which is in the One Bunker Hill area. (00:29:55)
Revealing mistake: When the Ghostbusters are startled by the maid, they instinctively shoot their proton packs at her. You can distinctly see that the energy beam is coming -at - them and is not shot -from - their weapon, and it happens even before Dan Akroyd properly turned around and had any chance to point the 'rifle' part at the target's general direction. Continuity mistake: At the hotel, when the Ghostbusters blast the cleaning lady's trolley, the stuff on the floor changes between shots. Watch the toilet paper on the far left, for example. (00:31:50)
Continuity mistake: When Slimer flies off after Ray shot towards him the first time, the cart rolls away; you can see that the champagne bucket was not knocked down by the messy explosion. When the cart crashes in the wall, the bucket enters the frame already lying horizontally. (00:33:10)
Revealing mistake: When Ray shoots at Slimer, the proton beam reaches the door in the first shot, and in the next one goes past it; its future path inside the wall is already outlined and burnt to a crisp. (00:33:10)
