Deliberate mistake: In the scene where Helen snags a ride on one of the rail cars (grabs it with her hands then does her Tarzan imitation), one of the support beams for the track magically disappears to give her more space to grab the car. The camera doesn't cut, or even change position- it just pans, all in one shot. When she looks forward at the track, there's one beam a short distance in front of her, and one beyond that. She turns to see a rail car approaching, and when the camera pans back to see her grab the car, the distance to the next support beam has been doubled- the first beam disappeared. (01:16:25)
Continuity mistake: When Dash and Violet wake up on the island, there's a section of rock wall right behind them. The bird asks for ID, Dash wakes Violet up to show her, and she steps forward. The camera switches positions a few times, then the kids turn around and run for it. Before they turn, the rock wall is on the left and there's a clearing to the right- but the complete 180 they make doesn't warrant enough space for them to go around the rock wall- actually, when they turn to run the rock wall is not only farther away from them, it's already behind them. (01:22:00)
Continuity mistake: When Lucius is putting aftershave on in front of the mirror, he hears the robot outside and runs to the window, leaving the bottle of aftershave on the desk with the lid off. He returns to open the drawer, and the lid is back on. (01:29:00)
Other mistake: Near the end of the film when Jack-Jack is manifesting various abilities, his first display is of the human-torch-type of superpower. This would have burned away all of his clothing, yet (for obvious reasons) his diaper remains intact. This is particularly apparent as designer Edna Mode's costume for Jack-Jack was earlier shown as fire-resistant, but he was not dressed in his outfit during this scene. (01:44:15)
Suggested correction: This is definitely intentional, not an error. We see Jack-Jack use his fire powers without burning his diaper in Incredibles 2. Having fire powers without burning clothes is just a retcon.
Continuity mistake: The "Denied" word stamped by Mr. Incredible on the paper moves from the center of the sheet to the top, close to the logo.
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie when Mr. Incredible sees the police chase, he checks his watch and says "Yeah, I've got time". Then he has the car put his super suit on. When he sits up and raises his hands to have his gloves put on, his watch is gone. Later, after getting the cat out of the tree, he pulls up his glove to check the time and his watch is back.
Factual error: When the plane is attacked by missiles, Helen punches a button on the cockpit console and a screen lights up that says "chaff". The next shot shows the rear of the plane with several burning items coming from it that are supposed to be chaff. However, chaff containers burst open into thousands of radar-reflective strips that are meant to confuse radar-guided missiles (see real chaff in the movie Air Force One). What actually comes out are flares that burn extremely hot to confuse heat-seeking missiles. While it might be suggested that we just never see the containers burst open, later in the missile chase we see the exact same items in view for a much longer time and they never burst open.
Continuity mistake: When Edna agrees to create a new super-suit for Mr. Incredible, she states that Stratogale and Thunderhead were active in the late 50's. In addition, fifteen years after the supers are banned, on the day Dash is sent to the principal's office, the newspaper Bob is reading has a date of 1960-something. However, while Bob is considering Mirage's offer and the camera pans the wall of his achievements, a date on a newspaper says 2000-something.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Incredible is chasing robbers in his super car and the old woman is trying to get her cat to come down from the tree, she sees him coming quite near and runs out onto the road to flag him down. Cut to inside the car, and the old woman is much further up the road than in the previous shot otherwise he wouldn't have had time to stop.
Continuity mistake: When Bob Parr goes to his boss' office to be told off, you can see the door in the background is closed. Bob gets up and walks toward the door which he has now supposedly opened. You never see it physically come into shot, but when Bob is told to close the door, the shot hasn't changed but you can now see the door in shot being closed, which means the door suddenly opened itself. The framing of the shot never changes, therefore we should have seen the door in shot.
Continuity mistake: In the Parrs' house, right outside the kitchen is the garage (you can see this numerous time throughout the movie). But when Bob comes back late Wednesday night, and when Helen is giving Jack-Jack a bath, when you look out the window, the garage is not there. All you can see is the sky. You should be able to see the garage directly outside the kitchen door.
Continuity mistake: When the Parrs are having dinner and when Frozone stops by Dash spits water and Frozone freezes it. In the shot after he catches the ice, the ice disappears.
Continuity mistake: When Elastigirl, Dash, and Violet are in the jet outrunning the missiles, the ocean is very rough. This can be seen when Elastigirl boosts and hits a large wave when she is trying to gain altitude. But, when they are in the water after the missiles have hit them, the water is very calm.
Continuity mistake: When Frozone picks up Mr. Incredible to "go bowling", the green glass lying on the table on the left hand side of Violet keeps swapping sides between one shot and the other - sometimes its open end faces Dash, and sometimes it faces the entrance door.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Incredible lands on the railway and it explodes, the rubble and debris that falls disappears and reappears between shots. Furthermore, when he stands up to stop the train, the aerial view shows cars driving along the street as if nothing ever fell. With the amount of rubble falling, it should be visible on the street and have caused some traffic problems.
Deliberate mistake: In the Spanish version, the headlines of the newspapers are in Spanish, but the rest of the articles are in English. It helps supports the narration, but it causes a very weird effect.
Continuity mistake: In the dinner table scene, when the family "cleans up" in order to answer the door, Dash's hair is all frizzled and standing up from running around and fighting with Violet. When Lucius shows up, Dash spits some water into the air for Lucius to freeze. Dash then says, "Aww, I like it when it shatters." In that one quick cut, Dash's hair is all neat, almost no hairs frizzled. In all subsequent shots of Dash, his hair's all frizzled again.
Continuity mistake: When Helen is floating in the ocean, her hair got wet and it straightened out. When she was in the shape of the boat, and after they got to land, her hair was in the regular style; both the water and the strong wind would have caused her hair to be messed up.
Continuity mistake: In the scene with Dash and Elastigirl in the principal's office, Dash's shirt keeps changing between shots. First it has a strange "X"-shaped fold on it, then it changes to relatively smooth, then BACK to the "X", and so on.
Suggested correction: Dash was only bending over and in the next shot he is sitting straight so he unwrinkled his shirt without noticing.
Other mistake: When Helen is packing for the trip to find Bob, she is holding a outfit on a hanger. Watch how the coat moves when she slides it across the bed. Friction should cause the bottom of the coat to drag across the bed and while the top moves forward. Instead the bottom looks almost like something was pulling it ahead of the top. It gives it a very unnatural look.
