Continuity mistake: Aladdin is scaling the stairs that lead to the lamp in the "Cave of Wonders". The downshot as Aladdin just begins to climb, shows all of the steps are deeply recessed into the rocks. As Aladdin climbs, a distant silhouette shot shows Aladdin climbing stairs projecting from the rocks. When Aladdin reaches the summit, all steps are recessed except the last five. Once Abu takes the jewel from the idol's hands, the cave begins to collapse. As Aladdin runs down the stairs, all of the steps now project outward substantially from the rocks.
Continuity mistake: When Aladdin has just escaped with Jasmine from the Apple Vendor problem, and have climbed onto a roof top, a long shot shows the building rooftop that they must leap to next door is exactly the same distance apart from the front to the back of the building they where first on. It looks like 12-15 feet apart. When Aladdin makes the leap, the view from the alley way showing Alladin's leap between the buildings shows they are are substantially further apart, 25-30 feet, and situated more corner to corner than side by side. But when he lands they are side by side again.
Continuity mistake: When Aladdin is shackled in the dungeon seated against the wall with his hands above his head he is bathed in moonlight coming through a window. The camera actually pans from the window directly to Aladdin so that the light source is definite. The window has nine open panes, the light it casts has 12 panes.
Continuity mistake: The position of the lamp changes constantly in the scene where Aladdin is trapped underwater.
Continuity mistake: In the Cave of Wonders, Aladdin picks up the lamp. In one shot the handle is on the right and the opening is on the left. In the next shot, it's the other way around.
Continuity mistake: At the climax, Aladdin sneaks up to the lamp and we see his hand is only an inch away when the metal fruit dish falls. He remains motionless as Jasmine kisses Jafar. But after Jafar sees Aladdin's reflection, Aladdin is much farther from the lamp.
Continuity mistake: When Iago is trapped in the secret door as Jasmine runs up to Jafar, he loses some feathers. He is then kicked down the passage and the feathers have disappeared, but new ones are flying off. Iago forces the door open later and the second batch of feathers is now missing as well.
Continuity mistake: During the climax, both the Sultan and baby Rajah conveniently disappear while Jafar proposes to Jasmine and don't reappear until the palace is restored.
Continuity mistake: When Jafar, disguised as an old man in the dungeon scene, first tells Aladdin of the "Cave of Wonders", to the left of where Aladdin is seated, you can see down a corridor, 20-30 feet deep, to a small set of stairs with an arched door at the top. When the old man puts his face right up to Aladdin's face and says "You've heard of the Golden Rule, haven't you", we look in the same direction as before, however, now a solid block wall has appeared just three stone blocks away from where Aladdin is still seated.
Continuity mistake: After Ali is introduced to the Sultan and Jafar, Jafar walks forward. There is a large gold lamp present in every other scene that should be in front of the panel Jafar is in front of; it is missing here.
Continuity mistake: Sultan and Jasmine are confronting a kneeling Jafar in the Throne Room about having the boy beheaded. The opening is a long shot looking down, The runner rug leading to the Throne is 4-5 feet wide as we see Jafar kneeling on it. Later when the Sultan joints Jasmine's and Jafar's hands, the view shows the participants on a runner that has tripled in width.
Continuity mistake: When Princess Jasmine enters the marketplace, a small street urchin boy is trying to grab an apple off the apple vendor's stand. She walks over and says "you must be hungry". At the point that you only see the boy's face looking up at Jasmine, look to the left of the boy's face - the apples he was reaching for are wrapped in a brilliant blue silk cloth. In every other shot they are in a wicker basket.
Continuity mistake: Another mistake spotter mentions that Aladdin's patch on his pants changes location throughout the movie. Well it actually disappears completely in too many spots to mention. Notably, the part of the "One Jump" song sequence when Aladdin sings "Let's not be too hasty" and a large woman sings back, "Still I think he's rather tasty". Another obvious spot is when Aladdin states" I don't have fleas" and turns to walk away from the palace gate.
Continuity mistake: When Aladdin first enters his secret home during the "Street Rat" song sequence, He steps through an arched doorway, spreads out his arms, and looks around his room. That same arched door is halfway down a flight of stairs when he brings Jasmine up to his place later in the film..
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene when the vendor arrives on his camel, a door and window are directly behind them. The window is a large standard size and close to the door. After the vendor sets up his stand, that window, for the rest of the sequence is very small, very high up and located a ways from the door. This is very evident when the vendor says "This is no ordinary lamp."
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie when Aladdin is running from the guards, he jumps of the rooftops and in a pile of laundry. Three women are standing at a window laughing, but in the next shot there are only two women.
Continuity mistake: The long panning shot of the dungeon scene comes to a stop at Aladdin seated and shacked to the wall. His hands are shackled to blocks on the third row up from the floor, the next shot they are shackled to blocks in the fourth row from the floor.
Continuity mistake: When Jasmine first enters the marketplace and is noticed by Aladdin. Abu and Aladdin are on a reddish awning belonging to the stand of the Melon Merchant. The stand next door sells apples and has a yellowish canopy. When Jasmine is accused of stealing the apple and the vendor has raised his sword to cut her hand off, she is positioned directly between the right side of the Apple sellers stand and the Melon Stand (melons visible behind Jasmine's head as she is exclaiming NO). Aladdin stops the sword and takes it away from the apple merchant and passes it to Jasmine. They start walking past the neighboring melon stand, then suddenly they are on the far left side of the apple stand.
Continuity mistake: When Aladdin is shackled to the dungeon wall. The light that falls on him is slanted downward to the right, with the center pane of light in the top row illuminating Aladdin's face. After Abu gets down to Aladdin, Abu makes fun of Jasmine by impersonating a girl and swinging his monkey tail. Aladdin replies" But she was in trouble", just then, Abu jumps up to pick the lock and the panes of light are now angled in the opposite direction. They now tilt downward to the left with Aladdin's face illuminated by the far right pane of light. The light cast by that window changes position and angle constantly.
Continuity mistake: Jasmine has returned to her balcony after the "Magic Carpet Ride". Throughout the ride and balcony scene, Prince Ali's hair has been noticeably hanging out in the front of his turban. Even as Ali falls back on the Magic Carpet, and they make the descent back to the garden, and Ali lands face up on the ground, lots of hair is sticking out. When the guards hands appear in the frame to grab Ali, his hair becomes completely tucked under his turban for the entire time the guards shackle him and knock him out.
Chosen answer: She's upset because she thinks Aladdin lied to her twice about everything - first by pretending he was Aladdin, then by lying in the guise of Ali.
