Continuity mistake: The tiger bites the seat off the suitor's trousers, allowing the viewer to see his polka-heart boxers. When we see the tiger in the courtyard, he has a part of the same boxer shorts in his mouth. So if he bit off the seat of the trousers, shouldn't he have purple cloth in his mouth? (00:11:45)

Trivia: When Rajah transforms, if you watch it frame by frame, his head bears a striking resemblance to Mickey's head. There is a long-standing tradition for Disney to put 'hidden Mickeys' in their movies.

Continuity mistake: During the Magic Carpet Ride sequence, Jasmine's flower in her hair disappears when she pats the horse. Also, the horses are ridiculously small compared to Jasmine.

Continuity mistake: Aladdin, Magic Carpet and Abu have returned to the evil throne room. Aladdin tries to grab the lamp, but is unsuccessful. Abu runs for it and is turned into a toy cymbal clanging monkey. Magic Carpet swoops down to grab the lamp a split second after Abu is transformed, yet Abu is nowhere in sight on the floor even though he was directly next to the lamp clanging his cymbals. Continuity mistake: When the sword swallower in the marketplace has the sword resting fully in his mouth. The handle is at least as thick as a broom handle. When Abu seizes it from the sword swallower's mouth and he is shown with it in later shots confronting the pursuing guards, the handle is now the thickness of a pencil. It was obviously reduced to fit Abu's tiny hands. The change in handle thickness is very evident when Abu places the sword swallower's sword on the ground.

Continuity mistake: Abu threatens the chasing guards with the sword pulled from the sword swallower's mouth during the "One Jump" chase scene. The Head Palace Guard yells "Idiots, We've all got swords." The Head Palace Guard pulls his sword with his left hand from the belt on his right side. When they chased Aladdin past the firewalker just seconds before, we can see that the Head Palace guard was leading and was wearing his sword on his LEFT side, and should have needed to use his right hand to pull it. Continuity mistake: As Aladdin is sinking in the ocean, he sees his turban falling as well. This turban doesn't match his earlier one: it lacks the gold brim that goes all the way around the Prince Ali hat and the fabric that hung down around Prince Ali's neck. This turban has a very wide white border, a much smaller jewel and feather, and is very round, almost like a helmet.

Suggested correction: This is simply not true, it's seen in only 2 shots and both the pelvic and the dorsal fin stay the same size, the fish is further away in the second shot and the pelvic fin changes position and looks a different size but they use the exact same drawing. Even so, the dorsal fin of a fish can change size even when dead and shaken about by the salesman. And the tail fin is only seen in 1 shot.

Question: Two Questions about the Cave of Wonders: 1) The Cave states that only Aladdin can enter, but Abu enters the cave as well. That suggests that Aladdin is just the only human welcomed into the cave while the rule does not apply to animals. Why doesn't Jafar send Iago into the cave to retrieve the lamp for him? 2) The Cave also warns Aladdin not to touch any treasure besides the lamp, because if he does the cave will erupt and collapse on him. The cave is also where Aladdin and Abu meet the Magic Carpet. Clearly, they touch the carpet. Why doesn't the cave erupt and collapse when Aladdin and Abu touch the carpet?

John Ohman

Chosen answer: The cave has some level of sentience. It is aware of who is entering the cave, and decides whether to allow them to enter. It is able to tell that Abu is with Aladdin. It seems to keep a watchful eye on the person in the cave, and when it says "touch nothing" what it means is "don't try to take anything. It seems it was fine with them interacting with the carpet, and only had an issue when Abu was attempting to actually take something.
