Donnie Darko

Audio problem: During the "Sparke Motion" dance scene, the dance instructor is mouthing the wrong words to the song the girls are dancing to. "West End Girls" by the Pet Shop Boys was originally going to be the dance number, and that is actually the song playing for the recording of the scene. Richard Kelly couldn't get permission to use it, and "Notorious" by Duran Duran was substituted. The teacher is plainly mouthing words from the wrong song.

Audio problem: In the first dinner scene, look closely at the way Eddie Darko's mouth moves as he laughs after the "What's a f***ass?" question from Samantha. He takes a bite of his pizza, and his mouth movements do not match the sound of his laughter.

Suggested correction: They actually do match, anyone can laugh and not move that drastically, also he doesn't take a bite, he is on the verge of biting, simply pressing his teeth on the pizza.

Continuity mistake: In the class with the Lifeline exercises, the "L" on the word "LOVE" changes how it is drawn about 4 or 5 times between shots. (00:38:50 - 00:40:35)

Donnie: Life isn't that simple. I mean who cares if Ling Ling returns the wallet and keeps the money? It has nothing to do with either fear or love.
Kitty Farmer: Fear and love are the deepest of human emotions.
Donnie: Okay. But you're not listening to me. There are other things that need to be taken into account here. Like the whole spectrum of human emotion. You can't just lump everything into these two categories and then just deny everything else!
