Continuity mistake: In the hotel scene when Van Damme is crashing through walls to escape the other Universal Soldiers who are shooting from outside, one shot from the inside of the room shows him hitting the wall with his left shoulder, but when the camera goes into the next room to show him coming through that wall, he is breaking through with his right shoulder. (00:39:35)
Revealing mistake: As Luc and the girl escape the motel, they drive through several windows. On the last one, you can see a (very) badly placed ramp for the stunt. (00:41:50)
Revealing mistake: When Luc cuts out the tracking device from his leg, you can see that the knife was never inside the leg although the leg is trickling with blood from the wound. (00:45:30)
Continuity mistake: Queenie's arm on Toretto's shoulder and biceps changes between shots. (00:45:43)
Plot hole: At the gas station exploding scene, we see van Damme and the reporter getting in the car and drive off. Just after van Damme and the reporter drive off, we see Lundren get up from the rear seats to try to strangle van Damme. Why would Lundren be there when firstly, they had no idea van Damme took the chip out of his leg, and secondly, after realising they had been set up, they had n idea where van Damme or the reporter would be at that stage. (00:51:54 - 00:52:30)
Suggested correction: He saw the vehicle they drove away from the motel in earlier. Once the building blew up and they knew it was a setup, waiting in their vehicle is a completely logical move. Them not noticing a 6'5 240lb man in the back is a lot more bizarre.
Other mistake: When Dolph Lundren shoots his boss he shoots him through his glasses in his eye. However the guys lens never breaks. His glasses fill up from the inside with blood. (00:52:50)
Audio problem: When Jean Claude and the girl are in the bus while Dolph is throwing hand grenades, they say a few lines as their bus is getting rammed. There are 3 lines in a row where what they say is not what is heard. 2 lines by the woman and 1 line by Van Damme. (01:16:15)
Continuity mistake: In one scene JCVD is trapped in the back of an out of control prison bus. The driver has been killed but has, one must assume, died with his foot jammed on the pedal because the bus doesn't slow. In a shot facing back at the bus you can clearly see a pair of hands steering the bus. (01:16:35)
Continuity mistake: When Luc Deveraux and Veronica Roberts are on the prison bus and Andrew Scott is chasing them on the truck/base of operations Andrew starts throwing hand grenades. Andrew throws one that lands inside the bus. Veronica has time to fumble around for it, pick it up, scream about it and throw it out of the window before it explodes. The rest of the grenades that Andrew throws explode in a couple of seconds like they are supposed to. (01:17:20)
Continuity mistake: After the big chase scene with Luc and Veronica in the prison bus, and Sgt Scott has seemingly been killed, Luc and Veronica knock out the Sheriff and take his car. The car they take is a white car with blue lines on the side, the word "Sheriff" stencilled on the back wing and large flashing lights on top. In the next scene when they arrive at Luc's family's home, the car is still white with blue lines, but has no lights on top or writing on the wings, and has a totally different bumper on the front. (01:18:20)
Continuity mistake: In the final fight scene when Andrew is ramming Luc's head into the side of the police car the blood on Luc's forehead disappears and reappears between shots. (01:29:15)
Revealing mistake: Towards the end of the movie where Veronica Roberts hands are tied behind her back, she goes over to the mulching machine to cut the rope free. But as she hits the blades they bend and move like rubber.
Continuity mistake: When the Unisols first show up at the dam, the colonel is wearing a 11th armored cav patch on his left sleeve and a Special Forces patch on the right. In the next shot he is wearing a 11th cav patch and no SF patch, then a SF patch on the left sleeve and nothing on the right, then they switch (SF on the left and 11th cav on the right). This continues throughout the movie.
Continuity mistake: When Luc and Veronica escape from the gas station, the bullet holes have disappeared from the back of the car.
Continuity mistake: When Veronica arrives at the Hoover Dam and pulls over there are just three people next to the car. A shot later there are 5 people on the left who have appeared out of nowhere.
Deliberate mistake: At the start of the movie when the articulated truck is leaving the aircraft, you never see the attached trailer until the truck is completely flat on the runway. This is because of the steepness of the loading ramp, the trailer would ground and get stuck on the ramp.
Other mistake: Scott started juicing himself up with strength enhancers after getting his memory back. Luc only had one (that he lifted from Scott's vest during the final fight), and not even a very thick syringe either. With that one syringe, his strength equalled Scott's. How is that only one small dosage was enough to match Scott's several doses worth of strength enhancement?
Suggested correction: The enhancement isn't permanent. Scott takes them when they wear off, to get back to the "enhanced" level.
Other mistake: The Unisols are said to have been dropped into the water a mile and a half away from the dam. But, when they arrive, the three that you see are completely dry. Their hair isn't wet, and neither are their outfits. Scott has some on him, but that's most likely sweat because he's in the sun.
Other mistake: When Scott is pulling the other Unisols through the store and asks the kid where the freezer is, the kid is using a staple gun instead of a pricing gun like he should.
Suggested correction: He's not pricing items. The kid is using the staple gun to re-seal a cardboard box. He is shown trying to close the lid and using the staple gun to seal the box when he encounters Scott.
