Twister

Continuity mistake: During the last tornado scene, one of the team members says "they're going to punch the core" as Bill and Joe turn right off the road towards the F5. If you look ahead of their truck above the cornfield there is no sign of the F5 they turned apparently towards.

Continuity mistake: When Jo and Bill are traveling in the ditch during the tornado they show them hitting the bridge from the front and then they change the angle to the passenger side (Jo's side) and they show them hitting the bridge again.

Continuity mistake: When they are driving in the Dodge Ram, the window gets shattered at one point, and then they literally drive through a house and then as they come out, the window is intact again.

Continuity mistake: When Bill and Jo are in the yellow pick-up going after the first tornado, there is a yellow raincoat with a visible metal snap hanging from a hook mounted on the rear window directly behind Jo. As the scene progresses, it moves to a position higher up and off the window when Jo says, "We're moving to intercept, guys. Get ready to set up." Then Bill gets off the road and down into the ditch, right before Bill says, "Are we having fun yet?" the raincoat is back hanging from the hook on the window behind Jo in a different position (no snap visible).

Continuity mistake: When Bill, Jo, and Bill's therapist fiancée are in Bill's red truck and about to be engulfed in the tornado where the cows are flying around, the fiancée's cell phone is ringing for about the fifth time in as many minutes. The fiancée answers the phone with a disgusted look on her face like she resents having to answer the phone during such a dangerous time. Obviously the call is deliberate 'comic relief', even though they were so close to the tornado and about to be engulfed, but the real problem is in reality she would not have been able to hear it ring amongst the grand noise of all the wind.

Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the film when they are preparing Dorothy 4, the twister behind them is about 5 metres away. Then it it much further back the next time we see it.

Continuity mistake: When Jo, Melissa and Bill are in his car, they see Jonas wave from his car. Just before this had happened, Jonas looked in his rear view mirror. He only saw a red car with a background of a paved street. Where is the rest of Jo and Bill's crew?

Continuity mistake: Right before the tree gets stuck on the axle of the red truck, there is a shot of the car turning. The tires are already chewed up from the scene coming up where they try to take off.

Continuity mistake: When the tornado at the drive-in makes the sign with the titles of the movies fall, the arrow on the upper part of the sign is pointing to the left. However, when the upper sign detaches and heads into the garage, the arrow is pointing to the right.

Suggested correction: It's during a tornado. Things are going to be blown every which way.

Continuity mistake: The sky changes multiple times when they turn onto "Bob's road", right after nearly running into Jonas' team. It goes from being very cloudy and gloomy to blue sky to cloudy and gloomy again in the space of seconds.

Continuity mistake: After Jo's truck is damaged, they switch to Bill's truck that has a cap on the bed, but the next scene shows Dorothy in an open bed of the truck. What did they do with the cap? You don't see it lying on the ground as the vehicles pull away.

Continuity mistake: During the movie theater scene all the vehicles except the bus and red truck are destroyed, but during the F-5 scenes all the vehicles are there.

Suggested correction: The vehicles remaining after the drive-in scene are Bill's red truck, Beltzer's van, Joey/Lawrence's Chevy truck, and Dusty's bus.

Continuity mistake: After the first tornado when Jo's truck is destroyed, you see Bill's truck with a shell on it. When their group is leaving the scene, the shell is gone and one of the Dorothys is in the bed. Where did the shell go?

Suggested correction: ANSWER; As some time elapses between the tornado aftermath and leaving the scene, there are plenty of reasons why the shell moved.

MovieFan612

Continuity mistake: The tornado before the one that destroys the drive-in theater rips power poles out of the ground. When Bill and Jo are arguing, we see a long shot of the road where the tornado was. The power poles are in place as if nothing happened.

Continuity mistake: When Dusty tries to get Melissa to watch a tornado through a camera, the way she holds her umbrella changes between cuts. Sometimes it's on her left shoulder, sometimes it's on her right.

Continuity mistake: When Dusty watches a tornado through a camera, the way he holds the camera changes between cuts.

Continuity mistake: When the tanker explodes in front of the red truck, they swerve and go through the blaze. Helen's window was down before the blaze, but up when they emerged. And the cracks in the windshield change, then change back.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning with Jo's team, the sky alters between cloudy and sunny in different shots.

Continuity mistake: When the steak gets placed on Melissa's plate the 1st time at Aunt Megs, it is well done and pointing in 1 direction. When Dusty slips it's a totally different steak pointing in the opposite direction.

Continuity mistake: When Bill and Jo are driving up the hill, there is a shot of Jo driving, and you can see the windshield is already cracked. In the next shot when the debris of that jumper tornado is shown the windshield is perfect.

Visible crew/equipment: When Melissa dodges the truck that has fallen from sky and Dusty rushes to open a door and help Melissa get out of the truck, the reflection of a camera is seen in the bottom right corner of the truck window. As they move out and pan to the right, you can see a reflection of the same camera and cameraman at the bottom right corner of the truck door as they move away. (00:33:50)

Question: What exactly is Preacher's role in the group? He only has a few lines and never appears to be really doing anything of use.

Kyle G.

Answer: Based on his scenes, he seems to be a photographer for the team. He was taking pictures of Jo, showing how Dorothy worked, and was setting up a camera when Bill and Jo were going after the F5 at the end.

Answer: He's one of the scientists who works with Jo tracking tornadoes, gathering data, etc. He's a minor character, and therefore plays a lesser part in the story but is a part of the scientific team.
