Twister

Continuity mistake: After the chase where Jo loses her truck, her pants are wet and muddy. After the flying cow waterspouts, the pants are clean and dry.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: When Bill and Jo are in the truck, Jo looks at the dashboard, which is shown, and then Jo looks away and covers her eyes. Bill then floors the gas, and the dashboard is shown, and this time, the airbag light is on, unlike the previous shot of the dashboard two seconds earlier.

Continuity mistake: During a scene in the middle they drive the red Dodge solo into the hills to face a twister. As they bail out they find that they can't free the "Dorothy" from the back of the truck, so they have to run for it. As they look back they watch power poles start blowing up. Finally the one next to the truck goes and falls across the bed of the truck, smashing Dorothy onto the roadway and spilling the sensors. As they come back to the truck, because the twister has disappeared, they realise the twister is "jumping" and pile into the truck for their escape. The power pole is no longer resting across the truck and there is no damage to the bed.

Visible crew/equipment: When Melissa dodges the truck that has fallen from sky and Dusty rushes to open a door and help Melissa get out of the truck, the reflection of a camera is seen in the bottom right corner of the truck window. As they move out and pan to the right, you can see a reflection of the same camera and cameraman at the bottom right corner of the truck door as they move away. (00:33:50)

Trivia: While he enjoyed the finished film, star Bill Paxton admitted he wished "Twister" was a bit darker and edgier. For a while around 2010, he tried to get a sequel off the ground to deliver this more intense vision, and he was even interested in potentially directing the follow-up. Little is known about what the sequel would have been about, although Paxton hinted he wanted to utilize 3D filming techniques (which had been re-popularized by James Cameron's "Avatar") to really put the audience into the tornado chases. Unfortunately, the sequel never came together.

Question: What exactly is Preacher's role in the group? He only has a few lines and never appears to be really doing anything of use.

Kyle G.

Answer: Based on his scenes, he seems to be a photographer for the team. He was taking pictures of Jo, showing how Dorothy worked, and was setting up a camera when Bill and Jo were going after the F5 at the end.

Answer: He's one of the scientists who works with Jo tracking tornadoes, gathering data, etc. He's a minor character, and therefore plays a lesser part in the story but is a part of the scientific team.
