Other mistake: Just after the top of the truck's been sheared off, the T-1000 sticks his head back up and pushes the shattered windscreen out. He then steers quite severely right, then left, but given how narrow the area is he's driving down, that would have slammed him into both walls. (00:35:25)
Continuity mistake: When the Terminator is riding the Harley chasing Young John Conner, John is down in the reservoir and the Terminator is up on the ledge, as he approaches the end of the wall, through the Terminator's point of view on the bike you see the wall end, it clearly extends to a point, on the very next scene as he makes the jump the point has all of a sudden gone from a point to a squared off edge. Obviously the jump would have been a disaster if the edge was pointed. (00:35:30)
Revealing mistake: When the Terminator is trying to save John from the T-1000 in the truck, he makes the jump. If you look at his face and hair while he's airborne, you can see it's a stunt double (Peter Kent). The Terminator stunt double is also obvious in other shots throughout the film. (00:35:40)
Continuity mistake: Throughout the aqueduct chase, the crane on the back of the semi goes from swinging back and forth in an upright position to being bolted down about four times. (00:36:00)
Continuity mistake: About halfway through the aqueduct chase, the T-800 shoots the semi in its left door. The hole stays there until a little before the end of the chase. (00:36:30)
Visible crew/equipment: When Arnie is airborne on his cycle in the canal scene, you can faintly see the wires holding up his bike - from just around his shoulders right before he lands to until it switches scenes. (00:37:15)
Continuity mistake: As the T-800 is weaving around the back of the semi-truck just before the end of the aqueduct chase, there is a panel of some sort dangling around the back along with the licence plate. From the far shots the licence plate is gone, and the panel is bolted on on. This changes about two times. (00:37:20)
Continuity mistake: In the shot of the T-800 lifting John off of his bike, the truck's left headlight is missing, but after that it is there. (00:37:30)
Continuity mistake: When the Terminator pulls John off the dirt bike during the drainage ditch chase, the dirt bike falls onto its left side and the gas tank is about to be crushed by the tow truck. The next shot from another angle shows the dirt bike laying on its right side, with the rear tire the first thing to be crushed under the truck. (00:37:30)
Continuity mistake: When the Terminator saves John on his bike in the alleyway and the truck explodes in a ball of flames, the Terminator takes his shotgun out and cocks it to aim at an approaching object. After realising it is a flaming tire, he leaves. However, after stopping to relate his mission to John, the Terminator ejects the fully loaded cartridge (which sounds suspiciously hollow when it hits the ground) and reloads again. (00:37:35)
Audio problem: When Arnold Schwarzenegger is being chased by the truck and and pulls John out of his bike, you can hear John scream but if you look closely he doesn't move his mouth. (00:37:35)
Revealing mistake: Toward the end of the aqueduct chase, the T-800 pulls John off the bike and it is crushed by the semi. The camera jerks upward as John is pulled off, and you see that Robert Patrick has been replaced by a stunt double who looks nothing like him. (00:37:35)
Visible crew/equipment: When the Terminator looks back and fires his shotgun at the truck's tire, on the far right side we can see part of an orange cable or pole with rigging attached to the back of the motorcycle. (00:37:40)
Continuity mistake: During the chase in the beginning, Arnie shoots out the left front tire of the truck causing it to come mostly off the rim; yet when it runs into the divide and explodes, the tire is completely inflated again. (00:37:45)
Factual error: The truck that the T-1000 uses to try and run down John in the overspill, is a Freightliner FLA 9664, which uses a diesel engine - it does not use petrol. Diesel is much harder to combust in comparison to petrol/gasoline, and the spark from the battery cables on the spilt diesel would absolutely never ignite under those circumstances. (00:37:55)
Other mistake: When the aqueduct chase has finished, and the T-1000 strolls out of the fire, the semi is hardly burning in the background. Considering that the semi has just violently exploded, and the small bridge it just crashed into was nearly flattened, it seems odd that it shouldn't be burning (very tricky to see, best use zoom in). (00:38:40)
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene immediately after the Truck vs Harley vs Dirtbike chase where John Connor demands that the T-800 pull over for a "time out", as they pull to a stop and start to have a conversation the boom mike is visible reflected in the shiny black mudguard of the Harley's front wheel moving back and forth between the actors as they say their lines. (00:39:10)
Revealing mistake: When John Connor and the Terminator are at the payphone calling his step mom, the Terminator punches the phone and puts a massive dent in it and change comes out. If you look at the bottom of the phone before he punches it there is already a dent there. [Pan & Scan version ideally, although you can just see the very top of the dent for a few frames in widescreen]. [ALSO- you can see that the area where Arnie hits the phone is merely plastic, which is unpainted to match the black phone!] (00:40:00)
Visible crew/equipment: After the T-1000, disguised as Janelle, impales Todd, it hangs up the phone and pulls the blade out of Todd's head. As he slumps forward away from the cupboard and drops out of frame, you can see the retracting-blade rig that was attached to the right side of his head, creating the illusion that the blade was pulled through his head. Frame-by-frame helps on this one - it's visible for the last 3 frames before he disappears, just past his chin. (00:41:25)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the T-1000 disguised as John's foster mother, stabs Todd (foster father) through the mouth, she is standing at the table facing it. When it transforms back into its default form, it has moved away from the table completely. This is so that it can walk forwards (out of the shot) without having to walk around the table. (00:41:55)
