Continuity mistake: Right after the scene where Nels saws up his gun, he walks into a store with his arms folded. His hands are down close to his stomach. When it cuts to the next angle, they are much higher at his chest. (00:26:51)
Continuity mistake: Throughout the movie in several scenes the living room has 2 couches even up until the Parks are getting ready to leave for their camping trip, 1 big one and one small. The very next scene when the Kims are getting drunk, the small couch has disappeared. This must be to make room for the Kims to slide and crawl out from under the table. The strange thing is when the Parks come back home, they don't notice that one of their couches is missing. It remains missing until the end.
Continuity mistake: After being buried alive, Wake returns to attack Howard with a pick. There isn't a speck of dirt on him.
Continuity mistake: Zeke is in the kitchen with his daughter. He is checking out Dick's driving license; in the close-up he is holding it with his left hand, but in the following shot, as she asks him "Where'd you find it?" he is holding it in his right hand. (00:10:15)
Continuity mistake: When George gets shot, he lies flat on his back. When Gloria walks in on the scene, there's a closer view of him and he is lying on his side. (01:18:45)
Continuity mistake: Young Theo Decker is having his first dinner with the Barbours. Seeing that he's not eating much, Nicole Kidman asks him if he would like her to ask the maid Etta to make something else. On Theo's right, Andy is holding the fork with his right hand. As Theo answers "I'm not hungry", Andy's left hand suddenly is on the table too. (00:06:00)
Continuity mistake: Ellen and Joe just got out of the motel room and begin walking towards the marina. Left of frame, a young couple (she has a cap and denim, he has a full carrot top and a bright red plaid shirt, can't miss them) walking up some stairs on the left, going in the same direction as they do, different path. At the next cut, they are walking down the same boardwalk as Ellen and Joe and in the opposite direction. (00:04:30)
Continuity mistake: Last scene, camera front, he's strolling her back. Next view from behind, she's strolling his back. The front view, he's still stroking her back.
Continuity mistake: Nicky's facial hair shows less growth at times, within and between scenes. In particular, the amount of hair above and below his lips is the most obvious, but the darker (longer) and lighter (shorter) hair around the bottom of his face is also noticeable, as is the presence or absence of hair on his cheeks. Continuity mistake: Catherine is in Brittany's flat and she sits down telling a bit about her past. Seen from behind she is touching the hair on the right side of her face, instantly turned into the left side at the cut. (00:16:25)
Continuity mistake: Throughout the movie, Peg's hair frequently changes from scene to scene and within a scene. When her hair has a blue ribbon around a bun at the top, her side parts are sometimes higher/lower and straight/jagged. The length of her hair varies, as does the amount of curl on the bottom. One of most noticeable variations in her hair length and curl occurs during her speech to her new employees at Personal Expenditures Garnering. It changes several times from just to the shoulders to a few inches below her shoulders. Back views of her hair tend to be shorter and front views tend to be longer. (00:44:42)
Continuity mistake: The Man (as Panda) had one red spot in the top center of his chest and two on his upper left chest (lapel area). The middle red spot remained there, but the other two moved to his upper right chest. (00:21:45)
Continuity mistake: When Ricky tries to sell a share of his company to his Ned Flanders-esque dinner guest, his wife changes positions next to him as he turns around to get the contract. (00:18:00)
Continuity mistake: The position of Richard's legs change when he is dead on the stairway landing. Initially, Richard's right leg is bent at the knee and pointing toward the lower flight and his left leg is straight, going up the wall to the next flight. Richard's legs quickly switch from this position when Grace is approaching the landing to his right leg going up the wall and his left leg not visible when Grace reaches the landing. Continuity mistake: After take-off, Mr. Anderson's hair changes a few times while he was talking to Rochelle. His bangs are combed back, but then he has strands hanging down his forehead and the top of his hair is dishevelled. After the camera shifts to Rochelle and back, Mr. Anderson no longer has the strands down his forehead but the right side is messy. When the camera shifts again, Mr. Anderson's hair is neatly combed back. (00:14:54 - 00:15:25)
Continuity mistake: When we see Christmas Flint with her dad and Miss Rayleen for the first time, she's watching them bicker, her chin perched on the back of her hand. Which hand, though? It's her left hand for the greater part of the scene, but in the shot when Jim Gaffigan is saying "I got to find my pants. You move my pants?" it's the right one. (00:05:00)
Continuity mistake: After Jojo finds Elsa for first time he talks with Adolf in his room, he recharges on the wall then moves a little bit but suddenly is 1 or 2 steps from the wall.
Continuity mistake: Much to the photographer's dismay, Kate's husband receives a 'very important call' when they are posing at the beginning of the movie. The photographer's right hand is horizontal on the lens during his reaction shot, but he had it vertical on the camera body before the cut. (00:01:20)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, the girl gets assaulted from the back: you see at first exactly from the shot from behind that the backpack she is carrying escapes her arms, but in the subsequent shot she is still holding it. (00:02:10)
Continuity mistake: Xiao Meng spent some time wrapping her father's (Professor Tao) left hand, going around his wrist/thumb and under his thumb (diagonally across his palm). When Tao was blown off the bridge and landed in the dirt, the bandage was NOT wrapped around his thumb (just around his wrist). (01:12:33 - 01:16:03)
