Visible crew/equipment: When Renton is singing at the pub, he approaches Simon playing the piano to let him sing a line. In the shot before he places the microphone under Simon's mouth, Renton is shown moving the microphone away from his mouth, and a camera can be seen attached to the microphone, to film the shots from the perspective of the microphone. Continuity mistake: Michael sets foot into the church and meets Pastor John Soul. John has a clipboard in his left hand, as well as his glasses, as he says "But the doors of this church are always open to you." He opens his arms and the glasses are in the left hand. However in the wider shot that follows ("But, if you are looking for redemption...") here's the Pastor with the glasses in his right hand. (00:27:05)
Factual error: Emmanuelle Devos goes to the airport to get her husband and daughter. Their plane landed at 7 PM (18:58 to be precise) as shown by the airport monitor. They get a cab to a hotel downtown, and then there's a scene when she books a restaurant from the hotel room. She tells her husband, who just took a shower, that they need to be at the restaurant at 8 PM. Her husband says that there's no rush then, since it's only 7 PM. Of course that's impossible, the Turin airport is about 20km away from the part of the city they are driving through, which at that hour has also significant traffic; if their plane landed at 7, at 8 PM they would hardly have any time left to spare. Continuity mistake: Jake and Wendall are talking on the track field as they pull some weights. The strap attached to Wendall's glasses keeps moving in front and behind his shoulder between shots. (00:03:30)
Factual error: The movie takes place in 1843. Dickens is shown to possess a copy of "Varney the Vampire", which is impossible, as it first appeared in serial form in 1845.
Continuity mistake: When Megan is outside the supermarket asking people to sign her petition, a woman walks up and begins writing on the clipboard. In the first shot, the cap is on the back side of the pen. From the next angle, the woman is scribbling and lifts the pen to show the cap covering the tip that she was "writing" with.
Factual error: The black leather chair of the Home trust banker is more modern than the movie setting in 1922. (00:59:35)
Continuity mistake: When Toni Servillo meets Verónica Echegui in the sauna, she says something in Spanish to him, and then shrugs in a close-up. The jacket and towel cover her shoulders and neck area entirely, but in the wider shot that follows, the towel is gone and the jacket is looser. (00:11:10)
Continuity mistake: Throughout the scene at Stukey's, when Helen Mirren is chatting the Syrians' ears off her elbow sticks out of the window at variable length between shots. (00:05:45)
Continuity mistake: When Mariah is talking to the girls on the bridge at the beginning of the movie, the girl in green is holding her leash (her dog's that is) with her right hand in the shots from behind, the left hand in others including the wider ones from the protagonist's height. (00:02:25)
Continuity mistake: Ray and his friends are trying to talk to the City Councilman when they get the news that he's shutting down their department. There is a phone on the table and in the close ups of the boss, there is still enough of the table shown that the phone should be visible. But it's gone in these shots. (00:13:05)
Visible crew/equipment: When Detective Hole enters the murderer's cabin you can see somebody running in the snow outside.
Factual error: Allegra was said at the end of the film to have died aged 10. She was actually 5 years old when she died.
Continuity mistake: Giorgio Selva meets a new barista, apparently fresh from university after a dissertation on Hannah Arendt. During this first scene with her, her ponytail moves back and in front of her shoulder. (00:03:50)
Factual error: The musicians in the (real) Band of the Coldstream Guards that plays Happy Birthday for Christopher Robin are wearing their 21st-century uniforms and medals.
Other mistake: The private investigator has a full size Glock. The Glock 21 which is a .45 ACP has the lowest magazine capacity of 13 rounds. The 9mm capacity for the Glock 17 is 17 rounds. The PI exchanges gun fire and after he fires 7 rounds, his gun runs dry. Makes no sense to bring a half empty gun to a fight, plus he just got it back from his brother-in-law. (01:05:00 - 01:06:00)
Continuity mistake: From icing her knee to eating pizza, first the box is closed - next frame in the same conversation, the box is wide open. (00:47:22)
Audio problem: During Beca's performance of Freedom, she is singing with Cynthia Rose. During the little chorus pre-verse (before they put their hands in the middle), you can hear Beca's voice singing the lyrics but Anna Kendrick's microphone is nowhere near her mouth. Her lips don't even match it.
Continuity mistake: During the Memorial Day toast, Katie's hand is on and off the glass between shots. The level of wine in the glass also changes inconsistently. (00:12:20)
