Trivia: The 'Best Friends' necklace that Gwyneth Paltrow wears is also worn by Scott Speedman, perhaps hinting that she is the 'angel' he is looking for?

Trivia: Patty Hearst plays Figit's mother which is interesting because the film follows a Patty Hearst kind of situation. A woman is taken hostage by rebels and after a while she joins them. Patty Hearst is a good friend of John Waters.

Trivia: This isn't really a mistake, but it is pretty humorous. When Hamilton and Meg enter the airport with their dog, a "No Dogs Allowed" sticker can be seen on the sliding door.

Trivia: Location filming in Calgary's Mount Royal neighbourhood was disrupted when two bank robbers crashed their getaway car into the set. They hit a fake police van and were soon surrounded by over a dozen men and women in uniform. They surrendered only to find out later that they had surrendered to extras. (The real police showed up soon afterwards.)

Trivia: The producer, Luc Besson, makes a cameo appearance as the man whose boat is destroyed by the stray missile. (00:37:35)

Trivia: Maureen is said in the movie to be the best dancer at the school. However, you never really see her do anything spectacular. That is because Susan May Pratt is the only non-trained dancer in the movie.

Trivia: The movie is supposed to be in Washington D.C. Starting with the 1997 season, Washington moved from RFK stadium in DC to a stadium in Landover, MD. So the movie was filmed in Baltimore, MD. They used Camden Yards, Orioles stadium, and the stadium where the Ravens play.

Trivia: Rustin Parr shows up in the movie. In the general store there is a man on the floor "fixing" the fridge. He doesn't move in his scenes and seems dead. The only time he speaks is in Chapter 15 after Kim says "Excuse me" and he says "I'm finished now" Rustin Parr was said to have walked into a general store after killing the Burkittsville 7 and saying the same thing. Also "The Secret Confession of Rustin Parr" by DA Sterns shows a picture of Rustin Parr played by the same actor in the movie.

Trivia: Towards the end of the movie, when Coco is stomping out of the church and Angelica rips her dress by stepping on it, everyone laughs and takes pictures. This exact same incident happened in the same way in the movie "It Takes Two".

Trivia: Whenever we see Forrester's hands on the keyboard, they are not Sir Sean Connery's, but someone else's, as the production found out during filming that Connery could not type.

Trivia: Director Takashi Miike is not a fan of sequels, as he feels they are usually just "more of the same." So when he was set off to make this sequel to Dead or Alive, rather than make it a continuation of the first film, he simply re-used the same actors as different characters in a different storyline. So the film is not a "true" sequel to the original, but rather a "spiritual" sequel to the original.

Trivia: At one stage in the movie, Billy and his dance teacher travel across the Transporter Bridge, the only working cradle bridge in the world, which crosses the River Tees from Middlesbrough to Port Clarence, Stockton-on-Tees. At the time of the Miners Strike in 1984, when the film is set, neither Middlesbrough nor Stockton-on-Tees had an active coal field. Whilst the Transporter Bridge, now a grade 2 listed structure, is still working, it is not really a regularly used entry or exit use from Teesside, if Billy and his teacher were going to an audition. Which raises the question as to why they were on the bridge, apart from giving the director the chance to show off a spectacular structure.

Trivia: Michael Cera's theatrical film debut.

Trivia: It's interesting to note that Isaac Hayes has a very minor role in the movie as the guy who notices the roaches in the food in prison. Ashton Kutcher, Kelso from That '70s Show, is also in the movie as the guy Rudy swaps clothes with to use him as a decoy and is credited as "College Kid."

Trivia: Although Piper Perabo was able to sing for her character, it was decided that LeAnn Rimes would provide Violet's singing voice, albeit with a deliberate deviation from her natural vocal range. This means that during LeAnn's cameo in the movie, she is effectively duetting with herself.
