Factual error: The movie takes place during the year 1919. Yet before one of the World Series games the stadium announcer requests that everyone stand up to sing "the national anthem". The US did not have a national anthem until the 1930's when Frankin D. Rosevelt signed into law the Star Spangled Banner as the nation anthem.
Suggested correction: According to Ken Burn's "Baseball", Burns and Ward verify that "The Star Spangled Banner" was sung at a baseball game in 1918 to support the efforts of American Troops in WWI- in which players like Ty Cobb, George Sistler, and Christy Mathewson all fought.
The mistake is saying the announcer called it the national anthem, not that they sung "The Star Spangled Banner."
Character mistake: Phoebe gets hit in the head with a tree branch but she puts her hand on the opposite side she was hit on.
Revealing mistake: The dead cop can be clearly seen sitting up even though he's dead as the lady cop tosses the chair through a window. The next shot he's back to being dead again. (01:16:00 - 01:17:15)
Continuity mistake: When Charlie (in Marshall's body) goes to the final executive meeting, he dons a pair of glasses with an ear receiver attached by wires to one of the bows. When he removes the eyeglasses prior to leaving the meeting, the earpiece remains in his ear.
Suggested correction: It was established when the salesman was talking about the device that the part attached to the glasses was the antenna and it came with a separate earpiece.
Continuity mistake: During the whole scene where Tess says good-bye to her colleagues, up to the moment when she gets out of the elevator, drops her stuff and picks it up her hair is messy and straggly. When she gets up and sees Katherine it's perfectly done up. (01:34:20)
Audio problem: When Melissa and Stacey go to the singles party at the health spa, they approach Jamie at the bar. Jamie states that the drinks are all made up of 98% mineral water just like your body. Melissa then says that if the drinks were anything like her body, they'd be made up of 98% ice cream. However that's obviously not what her mouth is saying. She appears to say Twinkies.
Continuity mistake: In the scene were Jake is in the bed already after telling Christy he was really tired and didn't want to be bothered he rolls over. She comes out of the bathroom & of course fanning the room from all of his cologne. Christy lays down in bed flat with no pillow behind her head. In the next scene showing Jake's face & Christy behind him in bed she now has a pillow under her and is much higher up in bed.

Visible crew/equipment: When Mel Gibson is getting his red boat ready to put in the water, his friend comes out of his house to talk to him. You can see the camera crew reflected in his friend's sunglasses.

Plot hole: When Gary Busey infiltrates the Mexican terrorists' compounds, he first throws a stick to distract some guards and kills them. A few minutes later a terrorist officer reports to his boss that Gary Busey has killed three of his best men. Are we to believe that the three best terrorists were tricked by a stick thrown into some bushes, and then easily killed by an unarmed assailant (they had submachine guns)?
Continuity mistake: Billy has a magic baseball uniform - at the end of the movie, he steals home again, sliding face first into the plate on his stomach. Yet when he's walking off the field with Robin and Appleby, there are no dirt marks on his uniform.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Randall is chasing the big blue, he trips and if you look closely in the background, a camera is perfectly visible..
Continuity mistake: A private detective is looking for Loni and when he finds her he pulls a gun on her. She hits him on the head and he drops the gun on the floor. Loni then puls his gun out of its holster on his hip.
Deliberate mistake: In the final battle at the end, Mark Loftmore enters the back room where we see Mr. Lincoln leaning over the body of an older man with a red jacket whom Lincoln has apparently just shot. This same man later appears in the background of at least one shot of the general melee taking place outside in the gallery.
Continuity mistake: The actress loads her 35mm Praktica camera with Kodak film. That's not really strange, but the film is situated in 1968 around the invasion of the Russians in Prague. The film cassette is clearly visible as having DX coding on one side for setting the film speed automatically. This feature had yet to be invented in 1968, because it was released in the early 80's.
