Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Chris is at the track meet as his father and he dives toward the finish line, you can see the air mattress that he jumps on. In the next shot, the mattress is gone.
Visible crew/equipment: When Bette Midler and Shelly Long have just found out Michael Saunters is the bad guy, there is a helicopter looking for them and they're standing in the outdoor shower stall. Bette Midler says "They're the good guys" and they run out to try to get the helicopter's attention. Right after they run out of the stall, you can easily see one or two men in the stall - they're either holding the stall up against the wind of the helicopter or they're there for some other unexplainable reason.
Other mistake: When Owen knocks the cup with soda out of his mother's hand, it hits the door, but no soda splashes on the door and the broken cup is dry.
Suggested correction: Liquid can be seen on the door.
Continuity mistake: When James is eating at home alone, he flips his spoon into his water glass. In some shots it's leaning against the right side of the glass, and in other shots it's against the left side.
Continuity mistake: Has a scene set during the Festival of Britain (1951). Oldman and Molina are shown at night on the South Bank of the Thames, ostensibly having just attended the Festival. In the background is a very clear view of New Zealand House, which wasn't built until the early 1960s, some ten years after the scene was supposed to take place.
Visible crew/equipment: As Sierge is wrestling with the bear, the shadow of the camera and camera man are visible on the bear. (00:17:55)

Continuity mistake: When Kathleen goes to talk to Carl, her client, while he's in restraints she writes "You're deaf, aren't you!" on a legal pad then sits on his bed. She's holding her Sharpie in her hand, cap end up. When the perspective changes to Carl's, the Sharpie is cap end down. The shots go back and forth another time the same way.
Deliberate mistake: This has the old T.V. show style "it was 6 a.m. on January 7th we ... " beginnings to the scenes. Pay attention to those times and dates. They're not even close to being in sequence. I mean days, not just times.
Visible crew/equipment: When the zombified Tony chases Susie through the supposedly empty health club, crew members are seen standing at the left side of the screen.
Revealing mistake: Just before Walter throws Lisa through the window, you can tell that Lisa is a stuntman wearing a wig.
Continuity mistake: When the "ghost" is first seen, it is mostly obscured by a curtain; only its right shoulder is visible. In the next shot, however, it is right in the middle of the window, and nearly the entire cutout is exposed.
Revealing mistake: When Sweet Chuck is sitting on a bench in the gym reading a paper, the big heavy comes down and sits next to him. Sweet Chuck goes flying up in the air a second before the big guy sits down.
Continuity mistake: In the scene on the roof when the local hoodlum is attempting to take on the flying saucers you see the scene from two points of view. There are four people watching the local hoodlum getting fried. From the front, from left to right you see an old guy; a tall black guy; a women in pink and then a young guy with lots of hair. When seeing the scene from behind these watchers, you only see the old guy and the guy with the all the hair. Each time the angle changes the tall black guy and the women in pink are there.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie the daughter hands Harry a stem of flowers. The flowers have small daisy like heads. However, when the shot changes to show Harry holding the stem, it is very different. There are less flowers on the stem and the petals are larger.
Continuity mistake: When Ronald is in the store talking to Cindy about renting her and the salesman is looking at them through the telescope, Ronald has the money in his hand fanned out. When the camera cuts to the store, the money is not fanned out in his hand anymore.
Other mistake: At the shop where Cheech works, you can see him lip synching the redhead's lines as she says them.
Continuity mistake: In the part where the nerds are in jail, there is a close-up scene of a mean character that throws down his playing cards before he approaches them, but then when the next (wider) angle is shown, you can see the same man throw down his cards again. (00:57:55)
Audio problem: In the mansion, the boys open a secret passage and fall through the floor. They scream after shining a flashlight on a skeleton. Eugene then can be heard whining that he wants to go home, but his mouth is not moving.
Continuity mistake: When Claudia is being cross examined Dr. Morrison can be seen in the background with his pen in his hand and then his hands clasped, and then with his hands on his cheek throughout the entire scene as the camera angle changes.
