Continuity mistake: When Halloran sets the barn on fire to distract the Germans he lights up some straw with a match. All of a sudden you see flames flickering up at various places which could not be caused by the fire he made. (01:32:45)
Continuity mistake: Following the shoot out between the Germans and the Greek partisans being aided by the English and American POW's, a German Officer leaps onto a motorbike and takes off into the narrow streets of the village. An American follows on a motorbike and sidecar. Towards the end of the chase the bikes 'jump' over a cart. The German Officer's cap flies off, yet as he tears into a courtyard he has his cap back on.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Frank Morris arrives at Alcatraz, he has to take all his clothes off for a routine check. When the guards escort him to his cell you can see him wearing a pair of white boxers, but in the next scene (still walking) he is naked again and when placed into his cell you can see him wearing a pair of pants. Continuity mistake: In the scene when the aeroplanes have the dogfight, the German plane is in fact a Spitfire and the two British planes are in fact two Messerschmidt 109's. In the making of the film in Spain, they needed one German and two British planes for the scene, so the only way they could do it was to put British markings on the two Spanish Airforce Me 109's, which they had more of than Spitfires.
Continuity mistake: During the time when Vince and Sheldon are on the highway, in the cab fleeing the bad guys in Tijada , the same cars can be seen over and over again between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Watson is conned by the prostitute who says she knows Mary Kelly, she lures him into a closed alley. After Watson has called the police and subdued the attacker, 2 constables arrive and arrest Watson, but as they all leave, a third constable comes from behind the camera. Either he magically appeared, or he walked through the wall behind.
Continuity mistake: When Jackie and the five men are fighting in the streets and Jackie's mother throws him two bottles, he breaks them on each other and he starts drinking. The first shot the bottles are broken when he is drinking. In the next shot when it changes from the head gangster and back to Jackie, the bottles aren't even broken. They are new bottles, with the lids removed. How can bottles repair themselves?
Continuity mistake: Colour Sergeant Williams and Private Storey are miscredited as "Company Sergeant Major Williams" and "Corporal Storey." Neither is promoted over the course of the film, and both are not only addressed as "Colour Sergeant" and "Private," respectively, but also bear the rank insignia of a Colour Sergeant and a Private, respectively.
Continuity mistake: During the seduction scene, as George and Jenny attempt to make love to Ravel's "Bolero", the record gets stuck. George throws a pillow at the record player, closing its lid and "unsticking" the record. But when George later turns off the record player, the lid is open again.
Continuity mistake: When Ryerston is dead already and is talking with Matt, the autopsy scar next to his neck keeps changing sides.
Continuity mistake: Whilst having dinner with the Rands, there is a brief shot where Chance's white wine glass is empty - it is full immediately before and afterwards. This is happens just before Mr. Rand launches into his "businessmen are just like gardeners" metaphor. (00:44:54)
Continuity mistake: Go to the scene where the crowd is going to Golgaltha, along with the soldiers and Jesus. After they have taken off Jesus' clothes, and have tied him to the cross, they show a close-up of one of Jesus' hands, with a nail on-top, held by a soldier. Look closely - it's his left hand. Then the camera zooms out, and you can see the whole body of Jesus, and the soldier drives the nail into his right hand. Look at his left, and no nail is in it.
Continuity mistake: When Bette Midler is in the phone booth toward the end of the film, calling home and crying, she empties out her purse on the little shelf. A huge roll of money is prominently placed amongst the coins and other items. From shot to shot it can be seen sitting upright and then on its side.
Continuity mistake: When the buses are loading at the market parking lot, the Chevrolet and GMC buses in the lot turn into Fords and Dodges when they arrive at Camp Northstar.
Continuity mistake: During the underwater scene where the zombie is fighting with the shark, the zombie's arm is bitten off by the shark. However, we see him with the arm after he loses it, and without the arm before it is bitten off.
Continuity mistake: Van Helsing and Seward discover Mina's grave empty, and go underground to look for her. Van Helsing finds her first, to discover she is now the undead. As Mina advances, Seward enters, pulls her off, and they struggle as Van Helsing grabs a stake. Mina is then "thrown" back into Van Helsing's arms, and gets impaled. As the camera pulls away, Mina lays lifeless in Van Helsing's arms as he weeps. The stake, however, has disappeared. Where'd it go? It should be sticking clear out her back, covered in blood.
Continuity mistake: When the 2 wanderers are strolling, at the very beginning of the movie, a boom mike keeps getting reflected on all the cars.
Continuity mistake: When Mary Steenbergen and Malcolm MacDowell are in a restaurant and he's eating ice cream, his hand holding the ice cream spoon is in a different position when he's shown from the front than from when he's shown from the back - one way it's up, the other it's down. Also, the spoon disappears whenever the shot is from the back.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where one of the hall monitors is folding the principal's note into a paper airplane, watch his cigarette. It goes from being in his mouth, to being in his hand and back without him moving it.
Continuity mistake: Doug's 79 Firebird Formula turns into an early 70s Camaro when it gets blown up.
