Factual error: When Clark speaks to Jor-El for the first time in the Fortress, Jor-El says "I will have been dead for many thousands of your years..." Fine in theory - Baby Kal-El travelled to Earth at above light speed so time passed differently for him. However, as such, wouldn't Jor-El have seen Earth as it was thousands of years ago? Which also makes there a problem with all the things Kal-El was taught during his voyage to Earth, as Jor-El references Einstein by name, for instance, and he would not have existed at the point when Jor-El sent him to Earth.
Other mistake: At the end of the movie, when everybody wonders where they are, Gilligan holds up a piece of wood that says Minnow-1, making everybody realise they are back on the island. The name of the boat was known as the S.S. Minnow, and not Minnow-1.
Factual error: The movie and events take place in 1958. However, two Fender amplifiers that are used by the band, "Johnny Casino and The Gamblers" are "Silverface" models that were only manufactured between 1967 and 1981.
Revealing mistake: When Bluto is watching the sorority girls have their pillow fight and he falls down with the ladder, you can see him land on a grass mat that is cut into the lawn. It's funny because you can see the grass push in. (00:40:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene in the Beatles hotel room where Nancy Allen comes out from under the cart with the cokes on it, when she first sees the Beatles' guitars, notice that in the very first scene, the Hofner bass is left handed (the pick guard is on the left as you're looking at it), then it cuts to her, then when it cuts back to her rolling on the floor with the bass, it's suddenly right handed, then when in the last scene with her handling it, it's left handed again.
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the film when Spider Mike is rescued from a town. The Rubber Duck's truck is damaged. It loses the bullbars on the front, and the windbreaker on the roof is flattened against the roof of the cab. Yet after leaving the town, in a series of shots showing the Rubber Duck's truck. The damage disappears or varies. The windbreaker appears fixed and so do the bars, but in the next shot just the windbreaker is fixed and the bars aren't. It continues like this through a montage and then in the next scene when it cuts back to a close up of the truck both are damaged again. (01:47:40)
Visible crew/equipment: Near the beginning where Philo parks his truck after speaking to Orville who is taking Ma to do her driving licence, you can see a crew member (wearing a white cowboy hat and sunglasses) reflected in the side mirror of the truck.
Continuity mistake: There is one scene in the final earthquake as Ski and Sonny are driving around the city that's being destroyed - the Trans Am gets hit from the right side, hard enough to throw the car into a small skid, but seconds later there is no damage to the car, and nothing like that was discussed during the planning of the stunt. One has to wonder if that hit was unintentional and not scripted.
Continuity mistake: As Max is carrying a birthday cake out of the kitchen, the candle blows out as he walks. But the candle is suddenly lit again when the camera angle changes, as he walks into the living room.
Continuity mistake: When Cheech is turning over his car to pick up Chong you see him starting to turn over before he reach Chong. When it cuts Cheech has passed Chong before turning over. (00:07:40)
Continuity mistake: When Clouseau and Cato are trying to get into "Le Club Foot" they go crashing through the window of a bakery. A little later on, they go through the same hole again, yet this time there is a large undamaged wedding cake sitting there for Cato to land in. The cake couldn't have survived the first accident.
Continuity mistake: The dressing that is on the evil Dr Leticia Baines's forehead keeps changing. When she is first placed on Grogan's raft, the dressing is soaked with blood. In the next few scenes it just has a small patch of blood in the centre. After she swims to rescue the boy from his canoe, she gets on the raft and the dressing is dry. In the next two close-up shots the dressing is wet (with water) and then it is dry again.
Suggested correction: While the description of the events and the mistake is accurate, it wasn't Dr. Baines that swims out to save the boy. It was Dr. Hoak. You're thinking of the 1995 remake of the film.
Revealing mistake: When Emmannuelle and the footballer are kissing at the football ground, it's obviously supposed to be in the medic's room - you can see a couch and a set of drawers and a filing cabinet and a medics bag with bandages and things - and yet the room also has five shower heads and wall mounted soap dishes. It's really the showers. (01:04:30)
Audio problem: Near the end of the film, when the Commodores finally go on stage with their equipment, Bobby Speed announces them from inside the control booth. But the movement of his mouth does not match the audio (you have to look at his reflection in the glass wall).
Continuity mistake: When we first see Hannah, her room number at the Beverly Hills Hotel is 305. Later, when she and Bill return from a day at the beach, the room number is 306.
Continuity mistake: As Kenny is riding the bike, to try and grab on to the ladder at the back of the camper, the rear side-marker light on the camper is missing its red lens cover. In subsequent shots the red cover is there, and then vanishes again.
Continuity mistake: Henry Moon is too 'street smart' to have left gold dust on the mining tools for someone to find.
Continuity mistake: When Scarface is holding Gloria as he asks "Where is it?", watch her arms - from the side, we can see her left arm is arched outward; however, from the view behind Scarface and facing Gloria, her hands are pressed together in front of herself, in a defensive position. (00:38:55)
Other mistake: As the police lift the body of the 'dead' hotel clerk from behind the desk, you can see his eyes look around a bit.
Continuity mistake: When Jake and Link are watching TV Jake is lying on top of the settee. Link says hi to Jake and the camera switches from Link to Frank. In the next shot Frank sits down and Jake is gone. He had no time to move.
