Continuity mistake: When Clouseau and Cato are trying to get into "Le Club Foot" they go crashing through the window of a bakery. A little later on, they go through the same hole again, yet this time there is a large undamaged wedding cake sitting there for Cato to land in. The cake couldn't have survived the first accident.
Continuity mistake: When Douvier asks Simone to 'come in here for a moment' there is a lamp and bust and 2 golden animals on his desk. Simone enters and there is a different shot of his desk - those three items are now in completely different places relative to each other. (00:50:30)
Continuity mistake: When Dreyfus and the commissioner are discussing Clouseau's death, Drefus is holding open a pink file and there is a white folder on the desk . The shot switches to Drefus standing up; the pink file he is holding is now closed and another pink file is on top of the white folder on the desk. (00:45:45)
Continuity mistake: At the end, Dreyfus gets in the elevator at the hotel at the lobby. Later on he gets joined by Simone and Scallini. They travel down to the lobby, where they all get out-including Dreyfus.
Continuity mistake: When Clouseau takes the Bomb into the disguise shop, the fuse has nearly burnt away, but when we see him back in the shop, there are several inches more of the fuse remaining.
Visible crew/equipment: In the first scene, when the Mercedes is turning left, you can see the crew and the camera lights reflected in the side of the car.
Revealing mistake: When Cato is riding the motor scooter he has taken from the ice cream seller down the cobbled street, four men jump out of his way. This shot is used twice; first as a close up then as a long shot.
Continuity mistake: Closeau gets out of the Hong Kong harbour dripping wet, yet by the time he's in the fireworks factory he's completely dry.
Continuity mistake: Closeau's gangster gloves disappear once he enters the Hong Kong fireworks factory, while being chased by Dreyfuss.
Revealing mistake: In a brief shot during the Hong Kong harbor car chase, just before Douvier's limo crashes into some fishing boats at the quay, a flexible rope can be seen connecting the car with the Hong Kong Police vehicle. (01:30:31)
Revealing mistake: As in the earlier part of the film, at the end when the Silver Hornet falls apart, the devices which make it do so are visible. Under the hood there is also a string attached to the piece that falls forward.
Revealing mistake: The hydraulics that make the Silver Hornet fall apart on cue are visible throughout the entire front facing shot where the Inspector gets out of the car.
Other mistake: During the final chase, Dreyfus seems to shoot an endless amount of bullets without stopping to reload.
Other mistake: When Clouseau's trying on his short man disguise, kneeling to achieve this, his legs appear covered up. Impossible as the pants don't seem wide enough to cover them.
