Question: It has been shown that the alien takes on part of the host traits as it matures on the inside the host body. It becomes a cross breed, EVERY TIME. So unless it has been breading with the same host (humans) over eons how can this race survive and reproduce? Over just a few generations it would have evolved so far in so many direction it would fail to exist as a alien.

Answer: Well, the alien warriors don't breed, so any traits that they might take on are irrelevent. The Queens are the key - one plausible explanation is that the Queens don't take on the host traits, or that they only take on those traits that are useful to them - they get incorporated into the species, improving them while still conforming to the basic alien structure. Also possible is that the Queens do take on some traits from their host, but that their reproductive system is isolated from this - i.e. the eggs produced are the same no matter what additional traits the Queen producing them might have. This would allow each newly hatched alien to take on traits relevent to its environment, without hampering the overall progress of the species.

Question: I have a question about the infected people in this movie. I understand that they attack anything/anyone that moves, but why don't they attack each other? There's something about this on the correction page but it really didn't answer my question.

Answer: The goal of any virus is simply to propagate, they really have no other purpose. They attack only non-infected people simply to infect them, they dont bother attacking each other as there's no point in it.

Question: How many different Power Ranger TV shows/movies have there been? To my knowledge, I know of at least 7 different series, but I think there is more. How do they all connect?

Answer: According to the IMDB, there are currently 10 different series (with an 11th premiering in 2006). And, as far as I can tell, there have been only two theatrically released movies. All of the series, with the exception of the first one (that premiered back in '93) are spin-offs of the original, and they all share similar plot lines, characters, etc.

Question: What political party do Matt and Trey affiliate themselves with, and is it known who they supported in the '04 election?

Answer: When asked about what group they associated themselves with they replied, "I think we're like most people, just down the middle with our personal political affiliation". As for the '04 election I don't believe they supported either publically.

Answer: A "lost in translation" is a kind of con - Danny, Rusty and Matsui basically pulled a prank on Linus to make him feel like he didn't know what they were talking about when, in fact, they were just speaking gibberish.

Steph_Jared

Almost right. Actually, Danny, Rusty and Matsui weren't just speaking nonsense, all the conversation contains their plan.

Answer: It's a joke that Matsui plays on newbies. Near the end of the film, When Linus tells his mother (Cherry Jones) he blew the meet with Matsui, she explains that's his idea of a joke on new players. Linus then comments he didn't see that coming. (Damon shows a moment of bad acting, he can barely contain his laughter).

Question: Why does Vivica Fox start crying when she sees fried chicken on the table?

Answer: In a storyline that was not shown but discussed vaguely, Vivica's character lost her first child one day while her husband (LL Cool J) was at work. The only thing she had to put the child in was an empty bucket of chicken. So the bucket of chicken on the table brought back horrible memories for her.

Question: Who are the three guardians shown in the shrine?

Answer: They are members of the Chinese zodiac. Mushu (the dragon) is also a member. It is assumed that the other eight animals are present.

Question: I've noticed in quite a few movies set in American high schools there is a certain student who talks on the PA system, acting as a sort of news reporter/DJ type thing. There is one in this film and another film that does it is 'She's All That'. My question is does this really happen in American schools? If so, why? What's the purpose of the role? And doesn't that student ever get to class? Thanks in advance.

Answer: Yes, this happens in most schools. The reason is that students are more likely to pay attention to announcements that are not made by a boring school employee. In many American schools, we have a phenomenon known as "home room". This is a short period usually first thing in the morning that is non-instructional when announcements are made, forms are filled out, and administrivial functions that don't have anything to do with any one class. At schools that don't have this, they have a thing called "study hall" or "independent study" which is a period where you sit in a classroom and work on your assignments, special functions for the school admin. like you are talking about are frequently done at these periods by students who are "working in the office" rather than studying. Then, there are schools that actually have classes in journalism, broadcasting, etc. where this activity would be part of the schoolwork.

Question: I know in this episode SG-1 encounters the younger Hammond. Are Michael and Jenny supposed to be younger versions of people SG-1 knows in their present? Or were they just a random couple that helped them out?

Answer: They were just a friendly couple that helped them out.

Question: How did the big hole get made? Is this a literal plot hole?

Answer: The fallen tree that Ivy finds after she has managed to climb out of the hole is the cause of it. Clearly, from what dried up roots remain exposed above the ground at the base - it was huge - leaving a vast root system to rot in the ground; that then created the sinkhole. We see that the roots are so big Ivy hangs her bag on one and she uses it as a landmark in her mind - which we know is later beneficial.

Question: I'd like to know who performed the stunt near the end of the movie where Gabe jumps from the cliff as he runs from Qualin in the helicopter, and then catches the ladder on the way down. I thought that looked incredible.

Answer: There are two stunt doubles for Mr Stallone on imdb.com, their names are Mark De Alessandro and Jeff O' Haco. The site doesn't specify who did what.

The-Immortal

Question: The lady that plays Julia Stile's mother looks remarkably like Swoozie Kurtz. Any relation?

Answer: I can not find any reference to Joan Brandwyn's mother. I do not remember seeing her. Perhaps you are thinking of Mrs. Warren, Kirsten Dunst's mother in the film. She is played by Donna Mitchell. I have been unable to find a connection between the two.

Answer: No; Holly Palmer and Michael Bublé.

Question: In the big family fight scene at Nomanisan Island, I never understood what Violet was doing with the force field. Could someone explain?

Answer: In that fight scene, two of the enemy blade-fliers are approaching from one side - Violet has set up her forcefield in their path to stop their cannon fire, buying time for her parents to deal with the other fliers first, before turning their attention to the ones that Violet is blocking, rather than having to focus on all the fliers at one time.

Question: Something that was bugging me, but maybe someone who knows more about guns can help: On Shang Tsung's ship, Sub-Zero freezes & breaks off the front of Sonya's gun. What good does this do? The firing mechanisms are towards the rear of the gun. She could have fired off a shot, just not a second one. Freezing the front only locks the slide, part of the barrel and return spring, right? A round must have been chambered, otherwise it would be really stupid for her to be wielding it the way she does. Sub-Zero was not far away, so the shorter barrel shouldn't be much problem. Sub-Zero wouldn't have been able to freeze the bullet, given how he couldn't' stop that icicle that kills him later.

Answer: Sonya's pistol looks to be a Glock, Model 17 or 19. It looks like the barrel was broken off up to about the front end of the trigger guard. If she fired it like that, the bullet would have significantly reduced muzzle velocity because the recoil spring is gone (it would be in the front part of the weapon that was frozen and broken off.) The remaining part of the slide wouldn't have any resistance working against it. Not only would that result in less pressure inside the chamber during firing, but it would also most likely send the slide back into Sonya's face if she pulled the trigger.

Answer: Squidward only got bored because he likes SpongeBob and his antics more than he cares to admit. Seeing the way SpongeBob acts makes him realize just how boring Tentacle Acres really is.

Grumpy Scot

I wouldn't say he likes SpongeBob but he brings a level of excitement to Squidwards life that tentacle acres doesn't.

Question: Early in the movie, the cursed church is described as having been built in "5 A.D.," but the Christian religion didn't even start until close to 40 A.D. - is this a factual error, or part of the twisted plot line?

Answer: It was probably a pagan temple originally, then later converted to a Christian church.

Question: Is Vowellet - An Essay By Sarah Vowell on the UK DVD? On Disc One, on the index, it is listed in the Disc Two section but I can't find it anywhere on Disc Two.

Answer: No, despite its appearance on the Disc 1 index, it appears to be missing from the second disc. On the Region 1 DVDs, it appears as a menu item in the "Behind The Scenes" section, but it's been taken out on the Region 2 discs. The most likely explanation is that, for some reason, they were unable to include it on the Region 2 discs, but simply forget to take it off the disc 1 index.
