Question: As many times as I've seen this movie, I don't understand how Pete comes to the conclusion that Miranda is not delusional in the end. We see him searching images of the tattoo she kept talking about, but I just don't understand how that would lead him to finally believe that she has been telling the truth. Can anyone explain this to me?
Chosen answer: It's not that he fully believed her, but after doing some fact checking on the computer, he would find it odd that all the "nonsense" she was babbling about seemed to be true. He was most likely went to the police station to talk more about her visions.
Answer: Also we don't know the full extent of what Pete saw on the internet. There may have been a photo of the sheriff displaying his tattoo. I always find it best not to question silly films like this too much (save that for deeper films) - I mean, we accept that a ghost possesses Halle Berry, but get hung up on how a man's internet search persuaded him to believe a woman he knew and loved.
Answer: He loved her that's pretty clear in the movie and probably didn't want to believe she was crazy so he checked things out and knew she was in trouble.
Question: After the ferry boat goes down in flames, following the Medjai night attack, what town/city do O'Connell and the Carnahans end up in, on their way to Hamunaptra? It's the one where they buy the camels and Evy's new outfit.
Question: If Jorge Gonzales and other members of La Hermandad participated in the kidnapping, why does the La Hermandad president, Victor Fuentes, steal the ransom?
Answer: La Hermandad wasn't entirely involved in the kidnapping. There were only a few members that were involved with "the voice". Jorge and his people stole the ransom because they are corrupt police and they wanted the ransom and split it among themselves.
I was confused about this as well. So then "the voice" was not.a member of La Hermandad?
Question: How many people does Sid 6.7 kill in the film?
Chosen answer: 24.
Question: I never read the book, but have been bothered as to why no one pressed Bella for more answers after "Twilight" because it's obvious in following movies that the scar on her hand is a bite and not some 'fall through a glass window' which was used as an excuse for the rest of her injuries. Can anyone help me?
Question: When Lex starts to reboot the place when the velociraptor is trying to get in, she selects the section of where they are, it shows a picture of a women posing. Why is it there?
Chosen answer: Given that it's Nedry's system and he took the time to create his Access Denied screen, there were probably little touches of his all over the code like that.
Answer: That was Nedry's desktop background or something. We see it a bit before he says he's going out to get something salty to eat. Since Lex was accessing the JP files, she might have gone through Nedry's page as well.
Question: Why did Creasy keep swimming in the pool after being shot?
Answer: To cleanse his bullet wounds and to try and keep in shape.
Also, felt closer to Pita through her swimming.
Answer: It was meant to recuperate damaged muscles after being shot at by kidnappers.
Answer: The reason he was swimming in the pool is because he had open bullet hole wounds to his body, the chlorine and bleach in a swimming pool kill bacteria thus helping him from not dying of gangrene before he has a chance to get his revenge. He knew from the first bullet to his body he was not going to make it out alive so he did what he had to do to get as far as he possibly could. He believed she was dead, he had nothing to live for, he was killing as many as he could before he fell off the wagon.
Question: When Mike took little Mikey away, when Boo cried the lights started to flicker, and when she laughed, the lights all shattered. How come when Sully was singing to Boo and Mike tripped on a lamp and she laughed, the lights weren't so overpowered?
Answer: There are a number of times when Boo laughs or giggles briefly that the power isn't affected. Presumably the laughter needs to reach a certain level to become useful. Just as they aren't able to make power by screaming themselves, there's something particular to both the screams and the laughter.
Question: Why did Sandy randomly put the notebook paper in the little plastic kiddie pool?
Answer: Sandy had asked to borrow a piece of Marty's stationery (which Marty scented with a spritz of her perfume). She was writing a pining love letter to Danny, simultaneously expressed by the song, "Hopelessly Devoted." Once the letter was written, and her feelings expressed, she realized she wasn't actually going to be able to give it to him - too much vulnerability for one love-sick young "adolescent." Instead, Sandy placed it in the pool where she imagined seeing Danny's reflection, and swirled it around to remove the vision.
Question: In the last scene of the film the ship appeared to me to be sailing in a westerly direction (sun sets in the west). Wouldn't the ship need to go east from USA to sail to Sierra Leone?
Chosen answer: It's likely that the scene was set in the morning, meaning they would be going east.
Question: What's the deal with the puppy, and did it die in the end?
Answer: It was killed by Lucille in one of the final scenes.
Answer: Just before the doctor was stabbed by Thomas Sharpe, his sister kills the dog she despises just off to the side and behind them-you can hear its final whimper.
Question: Exactly how long has Mark Watney been alone on Mars during the course of the movie?
Answer: In the book, he's stranded on sol 6, and leaves on sol 549, making it 543 sols (554 days). In the movie, he's stranded on Sol 18 and leaves on sol 561, making it 542 sols.
Question: While arguing with her father, Hannah screams in terror and Zach thinks it's a domestic disturbance. Why did she scream anyway?
Answer: She was feeling frustrated about not being able to live a normal life. Outbursts are not uncommon from people who have been bothered by the same problem for a while.
Question: After Wallace was found as a walrus, why couldn't his friends get him to a hospital to surgically make him human again?
Answer: There's no clear answer but after defeating and killing Howe, Wallace seemed resigned to his fate that he was now living as a walrus and may have refused corrective surgery. It wasn't until the end when Ally said that she still loved him that his humanity began to resurface.
I agree with this, and I also think it wouldn't be worth correcting. He would still not look human.
Answer: They left him as a walrus because Kevin Smith wanted to leave the possibility for a sequel; which is slated for 2024 as "Tusks."
Question: How does the contact lens that Lane uses on his henchman (at the opera in Vienna) and Benji work? He seems to be able to see what they see (via his phone and laptop), and in the case of Benji, use it to communicate with Ethan verbally.
Question: How was the mother cell discovered? Was it man made or natural?
Answer: In the episode "Blame It on Leo", Leo Butler, who use to work for Reiden, tells the group about the "mother cell." He explains it's Reiden's molecule vector. So it's something Reiden created. In real life science, vector cells are used to introduce DNA sequences from one organism to another. There are a variety of ways for this to occur, however, in the show not much explanation is given about how Reiden's mother cell works (and tends to bend how it works to the will of the plot).

Answer: He is very arrogant. He either did not believe anyone would attack (and therefore did not prepare his other suits) or assumed his most recent prototype would be sufficient to fend off the attack.
