Continuity mistake: When Dr. Connors starts transforming into the Lizard after being blasted by the robot, the sleeve of his lab coat magically becomes tattered at the same time his hand transforms. Subsequent shots also alternate with his sleeve being tattered and pristine as well as his hand being reptilian and normal.

Continuity mistake: When Peter and Debra are approaching Dr. Connors' office, the nameplate on his door misspells his name as "DR. CURT CONNeRS". After they have entered the lab, the nameplate is shown to have the correct spelling. (00:06:10)

Answer: In the comics, Hobgoblin's true identity was kept a mystery for a long time intentionally and while many fans deduced it was Kingsley, and creator Roger Stern was leaning that way, Stern left the series in 1984. In 1987 Hobgoblin's identity was revealed to be Ned Leeds and then Macendale became Hobgoblin. It wasn't until 1997 that Sterns wrote the mini-series "Hobgoblin Lives" and retconned Kingsley as the original Hobgoblin.
