Ki'is Don't Lie - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: When the Hawaiian approaches the antiquarian at the beginning of the episode, which tells him that indeed had the statue of the Poison God, the handkerchief in his hand is held differently between shots; at the cut the hankie sticks out from the bottom of the fist, did not at the beginning. Ki'is Don't Lie - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: When Higgins calls Magnum's grasp of human nature "preadolescent" there's a cut where Magnum's hands are positioned differently on the top of the paddle shaft. Throughout the whole scene there are other position shifts which are if not impossible (Magnum's hands remain off frame at least for a moment), unlikely and consistent within angle taken separately. Ki'is Don't Lie - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: When Higgins reminisces with A.J. Simon about his run-in in chemin de fer with Ferdinand II, he is holding his flashlight horizontal, pointed at Jameson Parker, but at the cut he is pointing downwards at the map. Jameson Parker is also holding the map differently, with his 3 last fingers joined together at first, spread wider apart in the other shot. (00:20:25)

Ki'is Don't Lie - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: When Magnum jumps over the garden wall, he bumps into rolled up rugs, unfurling one. Which looks the same way at the end of the scene when the same camera angle is used. But the middle part of the scene is shot in a different angle, closer to Tom Selleck's face as he crawls to Higgins and gets up, and in that angle the rugs are piled together in a different way, with the unrolled rug draped over the others. A.A.P.I. - S7-E5

Trivia: At the awards ceremony, three men seated at a table together resemble three detectives from 1970s TV shows. Detective Mike Stone (played by Karl Malden) from ABC's Streets of San Francisco; Detective Frank Columbo (played by Peter Falk) from NBC's Columbo; and Detective Theo Kojak (played by Telly Savalas) from CBS's Kojak.
