The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Dr. Early hands the sousaphone with the bunny to Dr. Brackett, the instrument's mouthpiece faces Dr. Early, but in the next shot the instrument has flipped and the mouthpiece now faces Dr. Brackett. (00:50:50)
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Other mistake: At the start, on the way to the structure fire one of 10's rigs has license plate number E180174, but at the fire we see 127's engine has the same license plate number E180174.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Visible crew/equipment: When Station 10 is dispatched to the factory fire, a few shots after the closeup of 105's door that reads "fire dept deluge", there's an overhead long shot of the men using the hoses against the fires in the doorways, and a cameraman wearing blue, holding a handheld camera, is visible sitting at the back of a squad.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Visible crew/equipment: As the camera pans to the left at the start of this episode, while everyone is asleep in the dorm upstairs, a crew member standing near the production's lighting equipment is visible between Squad 10 and the wall. Also note that the lighting equipment is gone when the guys are dispatched.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Visible crew/equipment: During the factory fire, the Battalion Chief tells dispatch over the HT, "Fire through the roof, send me a third alarm," then in the next shot we see Engine 36 arrive, and when the engine comes to a full stop we can see two tripod lighting rigs and stacked film canisters, at the right of the screen.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Other mistake: At the very start, when the camera moves through Station 10 while the guys are asleep upstairs, we see one of the engines has license plate E111196, but en route there's a closeup of Rescue 10 and its license plate is also E111196.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Other mistake: At the start we see that Station 10 has one rig with an aerial ladder and two engines. While Station 10 is en route to the fire, there's a closeup of Truck 10 (ladder) and its license plate reads E111074, yet when they're on scene Truck 10's license plate reads E111083.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Other mistake: When the electrocution victim is loaded onto the ambulance, we can see there's a large piece of rectangular material adhered to the ambulance back door, with the name Mayfair printed on it. Then when the ambulance arrives at Rampart, the word Mayfair is now huge on that back door and the "M" is even over the door lock.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Visible crew/equipment: When Dixie and Johnny are at the overturned car at the cliff, Dixie opens the car door and goes inside, and as the camera trucks to the right we can see a crew member, wearing a rust-colored shirt, reflected in the shiny bumper.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Visible crew/equipment: During the factory fire, after the Battalion Chief tells 127 over the HT, "Take the steamer hydrant at Fifth and Crocker, lay a three-and-a-half down the driveway..." three shots later there's a closeup of a spraying hose, and we can see in the background another cameraman and crew member shooting footage with a handheld.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: After Johnny learns of his last rescue's death, when he enters the hallway the treatment room beside the nurses' station is treatment 4, but when Brackett and Early pass the nurses' station to go save a rabbit from a sousaphone, it's treatment 2 that's beside the nurses' station. Then, as soon as Brackett and Early enter their door, in the next shot as Dix speaks to the officer, it's treatment 5 beside the nurses' station.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Other mistake: On scene at the "possible electrocution", when John is on the raised snorkel waiting for the power to be cut, we hear the worker who is up on the utility pole whistling to grab his co-worker's attention, but the subtitles read that it's John who whistles. Subtitles from Universal Studios 2010 DVD.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: While Roy and John are at the boatyard searching for the girl's severed hand, when they walk into the mess of lumber neither of them can be seen in the other one's closeup, even though they both start looking around in the same spot, at precisely the same time.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Dixie and Johnny reach the overturned car at the cliff, the bumper on the car goes from shiny to mud encrusted, and the amount of branches, etc that covered the car decreases significantly, by the time the car falls over the cliff.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Visible crew/equipment: After Gage learns of the death of his last rescue, when he leaves the ER treatment room and passes the wife and daughter, the actor's black tape mark is visible on the floor, at the wife's feet.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Visible crew/equipment: When Dixie tells the ambulance attendants to put the girl with the severed right arm in room five, just as the camera tilts down when the first attendant pulls the gurney, the black tape mark is visible on the floor where he was just standing.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Visible crew/equipment: When 127's snorkel is raised to rescue the man who was electrocuted atop a utility pole, as he's being loaded, in the first closeup within the snorkel, we can notice two things. We can see someone wearing denim at the left of the screen between 127's guy and Johnny, and we also see the ground past Johnny's head. Then as the snorkel is still being lowered, in the shot from the same POV, once again at the left we see that crew member wearing denim, who is outside the snorkel basket, and also see the ground, but the ground has not changed. This reveals that these two closeups were shot at ground level.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Other mistake: When Squad 10 is dispatched to the the high-voltage electrocution, Tony opens the bay door, but the closeup we see is actually the same closeup of the hand cupping the switchplate that was shown earlier, when dispatched to the nighttime factory fire.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Brackett and Early walk into the treatment room with the boy whose rabbit is stuck inside a sousaphone, they head into the treatment room opposite the receiving entrance, on the same side as the nurses' station. However, after the rabbit's rescued, when Dixie opens the door so the boy can leave the room we can see it faces the wall and treatment room beside the nurses' station. I would provide treatment room numbers, but the room numbers keep changing in this episode.
The Wedsworth-Townsend Act - S1-E1
Other mistake: At the start, while Station 10 is en route to the fire, there's a closeup of the front of Truck 10 (with aerial ladder) and the large round sticker with the company number 10 imprinted on it can be seen affixed to the rig's surface, even over its two bars of chrome trim. Then at the incident the large sticker with their company number affixed to the front has shrunk significantly, now it's not covering the chrome trim.
Answer: I believe you are speaking of the old man, Mr. Wilson. He's played by J. Pat O'Malley.
Bishop73
Correct, it was J. Pat O'Malley...he also played the grandfather with his grandson when their rocket exploded, and also played "Old Bill" in the episode with Ann Prentiss, where Gage saves the little girl from the burning tree house, and her mother falls in love with him.
