Remington Steele

Steele Trap - S1-E10

Factual error: Laura deduces that Ambrose's TV message, which suddenly came on in the dining room, wasn't live but a recording. She says that the VCR's timer had been set to begin playing the message during the guest dinner. But with a standard, unmodified VCR, which this is, that would be impossible. VCR timers work only to record something - not to play it back. (00:23:10)

To Stop a Steele - S1-E15

Factual error: Jeweler Albert Harrad calls Laura from his desk phone, but only punches six buttons before getting hold of her office. All U.S. phone numbers have seven digits: six wouldn't have connected him to anything. (00:37:30)

Thou Shalt Not Steele - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: Steele props up the deceased Kalil and puts a cigarette in the dead man's hand. When the camera angle reverses, the cigarette moves to a different position: first it's between fingers two and three, then it's between three and four. (00:25:45)

Trivia: NBC decided to cancel the show at the end of the fourth season due to poor ratings, but at the last minute the network finalised its decision to renew the series. The surprise renewal of the series for 1986-87 not only cost Pierce Brosnan the role of James Bond in "The Living Daylights", but also Stephanie Zimbalist a role in "Robocop".
