Revealing mistake: In the episode when ACO Bulstrode is looking at the newspaper cut-out of the appliance crash (the one that Bayleaf was involved in), look closely at the cut-out. The whole article consists of the same paragraph written twice. Seemed the producers were too lazy to write a full article, hoping no-one would notice.
Revealing mistake: In the episode when the schizo falls off the crane, the car he falls on explodes a split second before he actually lands on it.
Episode #1.1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Josie is giving brown balls the cat a cuddle, the cat's position keeps changing instantly. (00:12:10)
Episode #1.1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: About halfway into the episode we see a woman walk into her house and answer the phone. The door behind her goes from open to closed on its own. (00:24:00)
Episode #1.4 - S1-E4
Continuity mistake: When Station Officer Tate is driving his car in a temper after the argument with his wife, he swerves onto the pavement hitting some rubbish bags. In the next shot he is driving in a straight line down the centre of the road.
Deliberate mistake: When the appliance crashes into the drunk driver's car and flips over, water is seen spilling out of the top of the appliance. This appliance was specially designed to flip over by mounting the water tank at the top, to make it unstable enough to tip over.
Episode #4.3 - S4-E3
Deliberate mistake: Before the gas explodes in the sewer, you can see the base of the Davy lamp glow red. Except that in real life this doesn't happen; the flame simply turns blue and grows taller in the presence of gas. This was probably done to make the scene more dramatic, though.
Episode #4.7 - S4-E7
Factual error: In this episode Blackwall Station is shown as a London Underground tube station. Blackwall Station is a Docklands Light Rail (DLR) station. Also look at the destination sign on the front of the train, which reads 'THAMES LINE', No such line/station exists on the London Underground.
Episode #4.9 - S4-E9
Continuity mistake: In an early shot of the factory fire. Appliance registration C389GFC is at the fire...but Blackwall have not been mobilised to the fire yet.
Episode #4.9 - S4-E9
Revealing mistake: In a scene in the mess, Sicknote walks in front of the television and there are grey stickers stuck to the screen to hide the production spotlights.
Episode #4.9 - S4-E9
Continuity mistake: Later when the crews are trapped C389GFC is arriving as a new appliance even though it has already been there.
Episode #6.3 - S6-E3
Revealing mistake: Just before the runaway car crashes through the car park wall, you can see the pre-cut area where it crashes through.
Episode #6.7 - S6-E7
Continuity mistake: During the petrol station fire, Hallam goes to rescue two attendants trapped in the station shop. The first external shot shows the inside of the shop on fire, but when it switches to the interior shot where Hallam tells them to run for it, there's no fire at all.
Episode #6.7 - S6-E7
Continuity mistake: During the car chase scene, the car passes a petrol station and heads straight towards a bus. Then the next shot shows the car on a clear piece of road where the bus and petrol station have disappeared, but in the next shot the car swerves into the petrol station seen before. The car was going straight, without turning onto any side roads.
Audio problem: When Charisma knocks on Kevin's houseboat, he says "It's Me, Les!" but his mouth is not moving at all.
Episode #8.7 - S8-E7
Deliberate mistake: The washing machine must have been primed with explosives and petrol in order to catch fire. The machine is not actually on. Also, there are no electrical connections behind the drain filter cover (where the machine starts smoking and sparking). There is just a removable plastic filter and nothing else. (All washing machines have this). (00:35:15)
Episode #9.4 - S9-E4
Revealing mistake: The flashover in the disused factory's ventilation duct (where the pop video is being shot) craftily borrows a shot of the flashover in the laser arcade shout from Series 7 episode 5. The arcade's overhead walkway and the icon of the woman holding the laser gun is visible.
Other mistake: The fire at the used cars dealership recycles several shots from the petrol station fire in Series 6 episode 7. These include shots of burning petrol on the ground and a Renault car with the registration mark B649 CLY exploding.
Other mistake: During the shout at the beginning, when the workman is hanging dangerously close over the electricity transformer, Nick is informed by the electricity board that they cannot get closer than 15 feet without it arcing. So why isn't the transformer arcing when the workman is hanging just under a foot from it?
Revealing mistake: Obvious CGI flames were used during the science lab fire, because when the teacher knocks over the Bunsen burner onto the flammable liquids, parts of the workbench instantly catch fire that were nowhere near the liquids.
