Continuity mistake: Lily and Marshall mention that they've been using the same toothbrush ever since they've been together, but in the 14th episode of the 1st season, "Zip, Zip, Zip", Marshall and Lily are simultaneously brushing their teeth with a tooth brush each (before Ted and Victoria get home). Trivia: When Ted and Robin are at the restaurant, they are accidentally sent a champagne glass with an engagement ring in. A man then claims the ring and proposes to his girlfriend. This couple really did get engaged on the show - the guy set up the surprise proposal, as his girlfriend thought they were just there as extras.
Question: Out of Ted's kids in 2030, who is meant to be the older?
Chosen answer: In a flash forward scene in Season 8, it shows him with his first born: a daughter.
Answer: Ted's daughter is older as revealed in a flash forward in 'Trilogy Time', when Ted is with his then-only child: a daughter.
Suggested correction: Many people buy another toothbrush to take on trips and since they were supposed to be going away, they probably decided to use them at home, as if this was their trip.
The whole point of the mistake is they say they have always shared a toothbrush. So why would they use separate on a trip?
