Factual error: You hear a recording of Earl's ancestor from the 1860s, but audio recording like that was not technologically possible at the time (especially for someone as obscure as him). (00:10:30)
My Name Is Earl (2005)
1 factual error - chronological order
Starring: Jason Lee, Ethan Suplee, Jaime Pressly, Nadine Velazquez
Number One - S1-E24
Continuity mistake: When Randy is scratching off the joke lottery ticket, the amount of scratched-off material left on the ticket changes between the three close-ups. One shot shows that the ticket was rubbed and not scratched (the area revealed has a haze to it).
Joy: Is his sister getting married? Is she? Cause if she didn't ask me to be a bridesmaid I swear to God, I will march down to that Club Chubby and wrap her neck around that pole.
Teacher Earl - S1-E5
Trivia: One of the lamps stolen by Ralph is the 'special prize' leg lamp won by the father in A Christmas Story (1983).
Question: Doesn't Earl have to pay state tax or whatever on his lottery winnings, and thus would be down to only 88 grand or so?

Answer: He would definitely have to pay a Federal income tax, but state tax laws vary. My own state does not have an income tax, and instead collects revenue through sales taxes.
