Continuity mistake: When the Doctor and Clara are on the rooftop terrace, there's a distinctive design on the Doctor's bow tie, but when he's in the coffee shop the bow tie's design differs, and when he runs outside to ask if Clara's okay it changes back, then it changes again when he's in back the shop. Additionally, when the walking base station Doctor uploads Clara it's wearing a bow tie, and its design also changes on the motorbike and in Kizlet's office.
Continuity mistake: After the Doctor gets hit in the head by a football, when he raises his arms defensively when Ellie Oswald comes over to see if he's all right, his arms switch positions between the wide shot and the close-up. (00:02:02)
Continuity mistake: The leaf Clara feeds the Old God, which was the catalyst for her parents meeting and which she kept tucked in her book as "page 1", looks completely different to its first appearance in "The Bells of Saint John".
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor, being held by two of the crewmen, explains that there's a geographical anomaly the sub can land on to halt its descent, the hand of the crewman holding his right arm disappears in a close-up, followed by the crewman himself disappearing in the next shot. Continuity mistake: When Skaldak grabs Professor Grisenko's head and announces that Martian law decrees the destruction of the Earth, his hands change position on Grisenko's head between shots. (00:31:47)
Continuity mistake: The submarine surfaces among icebergs at the end. Just as the others go back into the submarine, the Doctor stays up there. Some snow goes onto his lip and his hair. In the following shot, we can see he isn't moving. But in the next shot, the snow on his hair and lip isn't there anymore. (00:40:00)
Continuity mistake: While Emma is explaining to Clara what an empathic psychic is, the Doctor grabs a bottle of milk from the table and takes a swig out of it, holding the bottle in his right hand, before jumping into the conversation to state that empaths are both extremely compassionate and extremely lonely. While he's saying this, his left hand goes from gesturing in a close-up to holding the milk bottle in a wide shot. (00:06:25)
Continuity mistake: When Clara draws the Doctor's attention to the vision of a forest appearing in the archway, the candelabra she is holding has two candles in it, with the third hole empty. Moments later, after the apparition has disappeared, there are now three candles in it. (00:15:30)
Continuity mistake: When Emma tells Clara not to trust the Doctor, the position of her hands and fingers, holding her teacup, change between shots. (00:19:00)
Continuity mistake: When the Doctor puts on a harness during the preparations to rescue Hila, a flap on the front keeps switching between being straight out and being folded behind the strap it's attached to. (00:29:25)

Continuity mistake: For most of the episode, there is a thunderstorm going on at Caliburn House. However, when the TARDIS is seen dematerializing and rematerializing when the Doctor and Clara go to take pictures of the ghost throughout time, it's dry in the grove where it was parked. The first time is especially noticeable, as moments later we are shown Professor Palmer and Emma looking through a rain-spattered window, commenting on the noise of the TARDIS' engines.

Continuity mistake: When Clara asks the Doctor if he's putting the TARDIS on basic mode because she's a girl and he responds "No!", his hand moves from raised to resting on the console between shots. (00:01:39)

Chosen answer: The Master knows that deep down, he deserves death for the crimes that he's committed throughout his life, and since he regards The Doctor as his arch-foe, he expects it to be at his hands. The fact that The Doctor is still willing to forgive him for all of his crimes hurts him more deeply than death would.
