Continuity mistake: Throughout the episode, KARR doesn't appear to have a rear number plate as KITT does. However, in the shots of KARR smashing through windows/walls, he has KITT's ‘KNIGHT' plate.
Continuity mistake: Michael fights for his life on KARR. He then jumps to safety on KITT and gets into the car and goes chasing after KARR. The next scene has Michael back on KARR fighting for his life.
Continuity mistake: Watch KITT shoot KARR with the laser. When KITT hits the laser on KARR one of his headlight covers blows off but then returns.
Inside Out - S1-E10
Continuity mistake: When you see K.I.T.T parked up talking to Devon there is a normal steering wheel on the dash. (00:29:00)
Inside Out - S1-E10
Revealing mistake: When the bad guy says "Deploy" and K.I.T.T breaks off from the convoy, you can see a normal steering wheel in the car. (00:35:05)
Inside Out - S1-E10
Continuity mistake: When the driver of the lorry is radioing for a situation check, you see the driver with a radio in his hand. When you see them drive by and hear him still asking, the driver of the lorry isn't holding a radio, but has both hands on the steering wheel.
Other mistake: When Michael and Marty are being chased and shot at, K.I.T.T jumps over the top of a hill. In the next shot of K.I.T.T driving away, you see a wheel trim rolling down the hill which has fallen off K.I.T.T. (00:39:45)
Revealing mistake: In the warehouse, after Michael calls him, when KITT busts through the door, the plastic sheeting used inside the driver's window to hide the stunt driver is noticeable.
Revealing mistake: As KITT is rolling down the hill with the unconscious Michael inside, the shots of KITT from the outside show that the bonnet and roof have large and obvious gaps between them and the rest of the bodywork (presumably a stunt vehicle). When KITT fires it's turbo boost, the bodywork is its normal flush self again.
Visible crew/equipment: As KITT starts back up the hill, if you look at the lower left side of the screen as he starts up, you see a black cable pulling the car.
Visible crew/equipment: At the Victory Academy, as the group walks by the brown sedan, the light rigs and camera crew and equipment is reflected on the side.
Visible crew/equipment: When the vehicle drives into the equestrian centre with the brown horsefloat on the back, you can see the shadows of the camera crew on the ground.
Revealing mistake: When KITT is in the valet carpark, he pushes the cars in front of him forwards. It is very obvious they have attached rubber protectors to the bumpers to prevent damage. Also, when KITT is driving by himself 10 seconds later, you can see the stunt man's hands driving the car.
Continuity mistake: When KITT drives off the edge of the cliff, the car changes from a pontiac to another standard car a number of times. When KITT lands, his flight trajectory was from approximately 10 feet, not 100 feet. He should have landed like a belly flop onto the sand, not a shallow dive.
Revealing mistake: Watch the scene where Michael fights two guys for a purse. Michael calls KITT for help. When KITT jumps off a cliff, an old vehicle is the one that jumps off the cliff instead.
Other mistake: When Michael is carrying Micki up the cliff, she's supposed to be unconscious. But he's not holding on to her and her hand stays wrapped around his neck to hold on. Not something she should be able to do. When they're near the top, her hand position changes, but she's still able to hold onto him.
Revealing mistake: When K.I.T.T is called by Michael to get between them at the drive by shooting, you can see on the right side of K.I.T.T all the special effect plugs that replicate gun fire hitting the car. (00:09:20)
Continuity mistake: When KITT jumps into the empty factory to save Michael the ramp is set a foot higher than the floor, yet when they drive out the same hole, the ramp is level with the floor so it can be driven down.
Continuity mistake: When KITT lands in the back of the pick-up truck near the end of the episode, the internal shot shows the girl starting to get out of the passenger's side. But in the next external shot, she is getting out of the driver's side.
Give Me Liberty... or Give Me Death - S1-E15
Continuity mistake: Just after the tyre is shot the car skids and comes to a stop. In the next cut away inside the car, it is still skidding. (00:14:20)
Answer: I would say that unless there's visual evidence it was another K.I.T.T. car, as in you could see the bar scanner or cut steering wheel, people on here would correct the mistake by saying more than one 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am was sold and there's no reason it's meant to be a random car.
