The Injury - S2-E12
Continuity mistake: When the Dunder Mifflin staff is gathered around Pam's desk listening to Michael on the phone, the screen on Pam's computer changes from the Dunder Mifflin site to the desktop and back again in between shots.
Revealing mistake: When Oscar is talking to the camera crew, and Kevin appears with his ice-cream falling, you can see his thumb having pushed the ice-cream scoop off the cone.
Continuity mistake: As Dwight drags Kelly out of the smoke, his shirt is wet. After the camera cuts away and back to Dwight, his shirt is suddenly dry. (00:04:40)
Continuity mistake: When Jim is outside comforting Pam after she finds out her mother is dating Michael, he begins to explain a mallard recording device that Dwight gave to him and used a big hand motion that put his hand in the air. In the next shot, the hand that was in the air is now gripping his coffee cup.
Take Your Daughter to Work Day - S2-E18
Continuity mistake: When we first see what Toby's daughter looks like it's in a photograph on his desk that Michael points out in 1-6 "Hot Girl". The girl in the photo has dark brown/black hair. The next time we see his daughter is in this episode, and she has bright blond hair. A completely different child actor was used. (00:07:35)
Continuity mistake: In the first episode, where Dwight is talking to Michael and Ryan, when he gets the Jello out and gets angry at Jim, look at Jim when they keep going back and forth to him. In some shots he has a Jello cup and spoon in his hand, and sometimes he does not. (00:14:45)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, we are shown a video of Dwight getting splashed with the milkshake from the point of view of the guys in the car. But it splashes differently the two times we see it. The first time it hits his lower body, and on the video, it hits him in his upper body.
Revealing mistake: Ryan is seen on the left side of the screen breaking character by laughing and smiling, before seeing the camera and stopping. (00:18:05)
Continuity mistake: While Michael is introducing Ryan to Dwight and the stapler-in-jello is found, we see that Phyllis' chair is empty. Then a moment later there's a shot of her looking at Jim while sitting in her chair with no time to get there. And then the chair's empty when shown again. (00:15:25)
Continuity mistake: When the Dunder Mifflin lawyer says "she thought it had to do with her recent breast enhancement surgery," the woman on the right side of the screen has her hand on her forehead. Then the shot changes angles and the woman's hand is now resting on her chin. (00:08:45)
Lecture Circuit: Part 2 - S5-E15
Continuity mistake: When Jim and Dwight are talking about the activities for Kelly's party, Dwight is attempting (horribly) to blow up a silver balloon. Just after Jim finishes reading The List of proposed activities, Dwight says, "You're right, forget horse hunting, it's stupid." Immediately after he says this, the shot changes and he is now holding a brown balloon. (00:16:30)
Continuity mistake: Nellie and Pam are driving along, discussing what to make up about people's ancestry. Here, we see the same background go past Pam, a driveway with a black SUV on the right, and a white SUV on the left. This shot is only repeated in the angle where we can only see Pam, and the view out of the passenger side window. The car is driving along as normal, we see the two cars on the driveway, and then the car turns a corner, and we see the same shot all over again. (00:13:15)
Baby Shower - S5-E3
Continuity mistake: When Jan lets Michael finally hold Astrid, she has a pacifier. When Michael gives her to Phyllis, Astrid's pacifier is gone.
Continuity mistake: After everyone but Dwight and Kelly exit the building (because of The Fire), Dwight picks up the water jug and accidentally knocks over the blue cups next to it. A few cups fall to the floor but one remains still on the printer (next to where the jug was). After Dwight gets Kelly out of the kitchen, the blue cup has disappeared from the printer. (00:04:20)
Plot hole: When Jim's bank calls his office, Kevin is there and ends up pretending to be Jim. The Banker automatically assumes that he is not in Puerto Rico only from asking his address and social security number. It would have been very plausible for him to have forwarded the number to his cell phone, where the same scenario could conceivably occur (since The Banker refused to listen when Kevin tried to correct her).
Double Date - S6-E8
Continuity mistake: In Fun Run (4-1) when Michael hits Meredith in the parking lot, it is said by him that it was on company property, but in this episode Pam says that the hit in the parking lot will be off company property.
Character mistake: When it briefly shows the sign for their wedding rehearsal dinner, they spell Jim's last name wrong. The sign reads "Beesly-Halpret" wedding rehearsal dinner, not Halpert. (00:11:00)
Character mistake: Erin is shown drinking an espresso in 5-25 "Café Disco". Later in the series in this episode, when Clark brings an espresso machine in that was given to him by Jan, everyone decides to try every flavor. In an interview Erin starts rambling but then remember the actual question she was asked, have you ever had an espresso before, she said she had not.
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the episode when Robert California is escorting Erin out of the office, they are already in the parking lot speaking while it cuts to a shot of a concerned Andy in the conference room watching them from the window. A few moments later, Andy is shown saying goodbye to his girlfriend, while watching Robert and Erin leave the office. This should not be possible as they were shown to be in the parking lot already in a previous scene, with Andy watching as well. (00:18:38)
Revealing mistake: Michael is on his computer trying to open up PowerPoint in front of everyone in the conference room. He says "what we have to do here is go to run" and he clicks the run icon. However on Windows XP (the version he is using) and all other versions of Windows, clicking "Run" would open a separate window where you would type the name of the program. However, what appears on screen is a context menu as if he had clicked the "All Programs" button. You can even see the highlighted "All programs" button indicating that it was actually pressed. They likely had a PowerPoint presentation running in full screen with screenshots of a Windows desktop on each slide. As Steve clicked arbitrarily on the screen, it would trigger the next slide to appear thus creating the illusion that he was interacting with the operating system. (00:19:16)
Suggested correction: The dark haired girl is Stanley's daughter and she goes to the Catholic girls school. If you look at Toby's desk on the wall is the picture of his daughter.
No, there is a picture on Toby's desk / on the wall of his desk, of his daughter in episode 6 season 1, where his daughter appears to have dark brown hair. Then when she comes in the office for "bring your kid to work day" she has blonde hair and blue eyes.
