The Lost Planet of the Gods (1) - S1-E4
Plot hole: This episode shows that, upon return from "long patrols", pilots are expected to use decontamination booths before rejoining the general population- a reasonable precaution. Strangely, Apollo and Starbuck walk among several ship personnel on their way to the two decontamination booths. If the pilots are walking among others on their way to the booths, this seems one rather pointless process. (00:21:50)
Audio problem: As Apollo's Viper is under attack by several Cylon Raiders, he radios Galactica, saying "Galactica, Recon Probe 3. Where's Blue Squadron? I'm running out of time." A few shots later, aboard Galactica, we hear Apollo's voice over the radio, saying "Where's Blue Squadron? I'm running out of time." twice, back-to-back. It's a reuse of the audio from the earlier scene. We hear the exact same audio a total of three times in less than 45 seconds. (00:03:00)
Factual error: Apollo tells Brenda and the General that he's from another galaxy, and Starbuck later repeats this impossible claim. The series writers have again confused galaxies and solar systems. Intergalactic travel would take thousands of years. The rag-tag fleet usually moves at only sublight speed, and it traverses only star systems, not galaxies. (00:26:00 - 00:29:30)
Greetings from Earth (2) - S1-E20
Continuity mistake: When Starbuck and Apollo slide down the roof and hit the soldiers, the soldier that Apollo lands on loses his helmet. When it cuts his helmet is on and he loses it again. (01:29:55)
The Living Legend (1) - S1-E12
Plot hole: Galactica's sensors detect a second Battlestar, Pegasus- a shock to everyone aboard. Then its commander, Cain, speaks with Adama via video hookup, and announces that he'll be arriving at Galactica momentarily. Yet he arrives in a Galactica shuttle, marked "GAL 356", which hasn't been sent to go get him since they only just now discovered Pegasus exists. Even worse, this is the same shuttle destroyed several episodes ago when it crashed on Ice Planet Zero. (00:10:55)
The Man with Nine Lives - S1-E17
Plot hole: Considering Galactica's mission of protecting the entire fleet, she wouldn't risk having recruits brought aboard that haven't been through a security screening already, especially a pair from a known warrior-like race, both of whom are wearing weapons openly. Nor would they be guarded by a crewman who willingly answers classified questions about locations of decorated Warriors posed by total strangers. Yet all of these gross security oversights occur in this one episode.
The Living Legend (2) - S1-E13
Plot hole: The "drop team" parachutes into Gamoray under cover of night, wearing all black to conceal their approach, yet their parachutes have an enormous rainbow stripe pattern. Not exactly stealthy. (00:15:15)
Continuity mistake: When Galactica closes the shield for the bridge this time, it is a two-piece design as seen on Pegasus in the previous episode (one piece rises halfway up to meet the second that lowers halfway- like eyelids closing). But before this episode, Galactica's shield was a one piece version lowered from top to bottom to close. There is nowhere for the ship to have gone and had a refit- it simply appears in this episode. Continuity mistake: When three Vipers land on a planet, the pilots emerge and discuss how odd everything looks in the strange lighting of this world. The colors of these shots have been altered so that grass and other green plants look red, and the red stripes of the Vipers look a yellowish green. Naturally, this has made the pilots look a bit odd, too. But when the scene changes to an area devoid of living plants, the colors return to normal Earth-like hues- as if this world's sun has suddenly changed its attributes. (00:09:55)
The Lost Planet of the Gods (2) - S1-E5
Continuity mistake: During the wedding ceremony, Adama states he is about to recite the most powerful words in the universe. He then says "Under the eyes of God, bound by the symbol of the faiths of the Lord of Kobol.". But in doing so, the actor forgot that in the show's "universe", humans believe in multiple gods, referring to them as the "Lords of Kobol" and "The Gods". (00:17:05)
Audio problem: As Adama says, "After that, it's a toe-to-toe slugging match," the shot reverses angles on the word "match," and his lips aren't moving when the word is spoken. (00:14:40)
The Gun on Ice Planet Zero (2) - S1-E9
Continuity mistake: When they plant explosive charges on the pulsar weapon, Apollo, Croft and Lida are wearing black utility shoulder belts over their snow parkas. All three belts disappear in the very next shot. (00:38:35)
Continuity mistake: Apollo and Vella sit in front of the fire and she tells him about her late husband. In the two-shots, their shoulders are touching. But in all the close-ups, it's apparent that they're much farther apart and turned to face each other rather than sitting side by side. (00:16:15)
The Living Legend (2) - S1-E13
Deliberate mistake: When Starbuck and Apollo attack the 'flank missile launchers' of the two Cylon base stars, the shots of the launchers exploding are actually of the laser cannons on the Galactica (note the red horizontal striping on the "wall" behind each cannon). (00:44:30)
Continuity mistake: When Adama exits the cell, the shot from inside shows the guard's right arm is down at his side. When the shot changes to a view from outside the cell, the guard's arm is raised with his hand working the cell door control. (00:07:10)
Continuity mistake: As the shuttle approaches the Celestra, Apollo is told he is crazy to try and land in the dark. The view forward shows the landing bay of Celestra is pitch black in darkness. Seconds later, another shot shows the landing bay is now bathed in blue light. Once landed and aboard, they exit the shuttle into the very-well-lit landing bay. But nobody has ever turned any lights on. (00:40:30)
Revealing mistake: When Apollo changes course, he pulls back on the joystick and the interior shot shows the shuttle seems to raise its nose. But the stars outside the window also tilt, meaning the shuttle hasn't tilted - the camera has. (00:34:25)
Continuity mistake: When John turns Starbuck's uniform white, the flight jacket's cuffs suddenly become much larger. (00:27:00)
The Man with Nine Lives - S1-E17
Revealing mistake: When one of the Nomen throws his "boles" at a support column, it is obvious in the side shot that the actor never really lets them go, but just turns his hand to block sight of them as his hand drops. The glow can be seen traveling downward, despite the next shot showing the lighted weapon traveling forward. (00:11:30)
