Deliberate mistake: When Apollo lands the Cylon fighter aboard Galactica, the view forward from behind he and Starbuck is a reuse of the same shot from the prior episode when they landed a shuttle aboard Celestra. Note the headphones they wear, then don't wear in the very next shot. (00:44:20)
The Lost Planet of the Gods (2) - S1-E5
Visible crew/equipment: When Apollo leaves the chamber after Serina dies, you can see the shadow of the camera moving on the floor as it moves closer to the door. (00:44:35)
Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: As the two Centurian Cylons report to their leader that all the base ships have been destroyed, we see the leader sitting on a chair on top of a column. As the leader's chair turns around, you can see its shadow being cast right beside the Centurions. When the shot cuts, the shadow is gone. (00:23:15)
The Living Legend (1) - S1-E12
Other mistake: When Apollo confronts Sheba, he says "Well, then we have found a weakness or two, haven't we, Lieutenant?" but the DVD subtitles say "witness or two" which makes no sense in context. (00:32:50)
Factual error: When Apollo runs out of fuel in space, he still controls his ship using the joystick as if gliding in an atmosphere. No thrust source is visible nor audible- only the sound of non-existent air rushing around his ship. (00:04:30)
Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1
Other mistake: When Cassiopeia is on a slab being tended to by the aliens, she yells "Starbuck", but the DVD subtitles say "Stop it". (01:59:00)
Continuity mistake: When Marcos places his bet, he has a gold mug to his right on the table. When the shot reverses to show Lacerta, the mug has vanished. The mistake alternates, repeating itself throughout the entire scene. (00:23:20)
The Gun on Ice Planet Zero (2) - S1-E9
Revealing mistake: During the second wave of the Cylon attack, Galactica is shown from her port side, and her name is missing from the side of the landing pod. (00:26:10)
The Lost Planet of the Gods (1) - S1-E4
Factual error: Starbuck and Apollo fly into a void and are surrounded by total blackness. This misconstrues the meaning of a space void, which is simply a large area without stars. It does not mean that further-distant stars and galaxies would disappear. They'd still be just as visible as before you entered the void. Even if Starbuck and Apollo were able to leave the galaxy and travel hundreds of thousands of light years into a really big void, they'd still be able to see the galaxy they left behind them.
Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1
Plot hole: Apollo takes Adama down to the surface of Caprica aboard his Viper, yet the Viper is a single-seat fighter. This is the only time the single-seat craft is used to carry two people (though there is no shot of the two aboard - it is simply shown landed with the two characters nearby).
Suggested correction: It was 2 seater Viper training aircraft.
Plot hole: Apollo lectures Starbuck about his appearance, reminding him that they will be seeing Commander Kronus, so he should at least "fasten up" his jacket. But in these shots and every shot after, Apollo's jacket is open, too.
Saga of a Star World (3) - S1-E3
Plot hole: Starbuck and Apollo fool the Cylon basestar into believing they're two full viper squadrons. The Cylons haven't yet fully retreated behind Carillon (they order this as we watch), so their scanners should have been able to detect this deception far sooner than they did.
Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1
Revealing mistake: It appears that just about every Viper that is launched has the exact same dark smudge on the canopy glass (along the forward, sloped edge of the side glass). Apparently the same full-scale mockup was used for most of these scenes. (00:18:45)
Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Baltar is brought before the Imperious Leader, the wider overhead shots show his arms are straight down along his sides, but closer shots show his hands fiddling together in front of him or somewhere between that and almost back at his sides. (01:17:45)
The Lost Planet of the Gods (1) - S1-E4
Visible crew/equipment: When Apollo has briefed the female shuttle pilots about the the pressure suits, Serina tells him she loves him. Apollo then calls for Starbuck to come with him, and as Apollo walks to the door, take a look at the right side of the fire extinguisher beside the door and you should be able to see the boom mike shadow move. (00:29:55)
Revealing mistake: As Starbuck's rescuers arrive, they are riding unicorns. The second from the right is bobbing its head energetically enough that the sheepskin cap it's wearing is bouncing loosely, along with its fake horn. (00:11:45)
The Living Legend (1) - S1-E12
Continuity mistake: After Cain leaves the planning session for the attack on the Cylon convoy, Apollo walks toward Adama. In the background is a metal wall unit. At the far right side, halfway down are four small compartments with handles that are all properly folded flush. When the shot cuts to a close-up of Tigh, the second compartment's handle is not stowed. (00:24:55)
Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1
Revealing mistake: During the sequence where Starbuck is attempting to land his damaged Viper on the Galactica flight deck, Athena begins running a diagnostic scan on her computer. In the first insert shot of her computer screen, near the top right hand side of the shot, the words "MADE IN USA" are legible in the diagram. These survivors of the "12 Colonies" are searching for a mythical 13th colony known as "Earth" that they've never been to, so having American software is quite out of place.
The Gun on Ice Planet Zero (2) - S1-E9
Revealing mistake: When Adama orders the fleet to "Flank speed ahead", the next exterior shows Galactica, seemingly turning to port, but looking at the landing pod shows the image is a reversed shot of the ship turning to starboard, evidenced by the ship's name being backwards. (00:27:10)
Continuity mistake: When a Cylon ship prepares to ram the Galactica's bridge, a Cylon aboard states "1 micron" (a measure of time) until impact, and it takes 14 real seconds to do so. But when another heads for Galactica's landing bay, a Cylon aboard says "5 microns" until impact, and takes only 9 real seconds to do so. (00:07:00 - 00:07:45)
