Lost

Exodus (1) - S1-E23

Revealing mistake: When we see Jack and Co on the way to Black Rock, walking along some rocks just as Locke notices the scratches on Danielle's arm, Jack's tattoo is not visible on his left shoulder, revealing a flipped shot. (00:24:30)

Exodus (1) - S1-E23

Revealing mistake: In the scene just after Sawyer is mounting the radar on the mast of the shop, Sayid hands Michael a flare gun. He opens it to show that there is just 1 shot left. If you look closely the flare gun shell has already been fired (notice the center fire pin is indented). (00:34:30)

Exodus (2) - S1-E24

Revealing mistake: Locke is chased and grabbed by the "monster," and is subsequently pulled through the jungle on his stomach. Just after Jack jumps and grabs him, Terry O'Quinn's right pant leg comes up and his black shin pad is clearly visible, as he is being dragged. (00:04:06)

Exodus (2) - S1-E24

Revealing mistake: When Jack hangs onto Locke, after Kate throws the dynamite into the hole, in Locke's next close-up, the wound on his forehead (grazed from Shannon's bullet) is on his right, whereas it's normally on his left. The shot is flipped. (00:05:00)

Exodus (2) - S1-E24

Revealing mistake: When Shannon carries and drags the luggage (some of Boone's) she breaks down and Sayid speaks to her. When he says, "It won't be too much if I carry it for you," he strokes her cheek with his left hand - note the watch. After he says, "I have a hike to lead," in the next wideshot he's still holding her face with his "left" hand. But, note the lack of watch, and her large suitcase is now backwards. They flipped the shot so his right hand would appear to be his left, to keep hand continuity, but it doesn't work. (00:17:10)

Exodus (2) - S1-E24

Revealing mistake: After Sawyer jumps into the water to retrieve the rudder, Michael tosses him the rope then shouts, "Tie it around the rudder and we'll pull you in." Three shots later, in Sawyer's close-ups, mountains are visible at the right of the screen, whereas in the previous and following consecutive shots they are surrounded only by water at this point in time. Exodus (2) - S1-E24

Revealing mistake: On their way back to the hatch with the dynamite, Kate, Jack and Hurley run from the "monster" but Locke runs toward it. When he lands on his back the shot cuts away to the "Lost" logo floating onscreen. When it cuts back to Locke, in this shot the bruise is over his right eye, instead of his left. The shot is flipped. Exodus (2) - S1-E24

Revealing mistake: After Charlie receives a large gash on his forehead, from Danielle's trap, Sayid tries to seal it. When Sayid pours gunpowder in the cut, he leaves a large thick trail beside Charlie's eye and on his cheek, which he does not wipe away. There is a tight close-up of Sayid igniting the gunpowder with the flame. The gunpowder beside his eye and on his cheek should have seared his skin, but it does not. The only severe wound Charlie has later is the closed charred wound on his forehead, and though he does wipe his face back at the cave, the skin on his cheek and beside his eye are fine. (00:51:25)

Abandoned - S2-E6

Revealing mistake: As several camera angles show, Sawyer's makeshift stretcher was made by drilling multiple holes in the upper frame struts, through which was threaded rope made from dried roots or vines. The cast who supposedly constructed it were not carrying power drills among their primitive implements.

The Other 48 Days - S2-E7

Revealing mistake: When Goodwin and Ana Lucia sits down to have a break and Goodwin hands over some fruit to Ana, she says "Where do you think they got it? I mean they're not even wearing shoes", directing to the knife. If you watch in the background you can see a car driving. (00:33:20)

One of Them - S2-E14

Revealing mistake: When Sayid and Locke are talking to Henry Gale in the hatch, just as Jack comes in and finds them, the front part of the arrow supposedly piercing Gale's shoulder is at a different angle to the back part. This is visible in a number of shots.

Dave - S2-E18

Revealing mistake: When Ana Lucia is threatening "Henry Gale" in the hatch cell; every time he moves and his makeshift shirt slips, you can see a line on his right upper arm where they applied make-up. Apparently he's wearing makeup on all the exposed parts of his face and neck to make him look sunburned, exposed to the elements etc. This is not just a normal suntan line, as his shirt wouldn't normally fall down that much out in the open and he's been inside for days now.

Live Together, Die Alone, Part 2 - S2-E24

Revealing mistake: After Sawyer has been shot with the syringe thing (I'm not sure if Kate had been shot yet) Jack fires his gun five or six times into the jungle. The last few times he fires it there is no flash or any indication that the gun has been fired.

A Tale of Two Cities - S3-E1

Revealing mistake: Season 3, episode 1, "A Tale of Two Cities.": In the scene where Ben/Henry is presenting a breakfast table to Kate, he mentions coffee which we can see is in a French press. Ben/Henry "finishes" the coffee by pushing down on the plunger of the french press, but uses only one finger with barely any pressure. In reality, a french press takes a significant amount of pressure to get the plunger from top to bottom, more than could be generated by just one finger. Additionally, we can see that the mesh-screen component of the French press stays at the top, rather than plunging down, which it should in order to filter out the grounds.

Season 1 generally

Question: When Claire is pregnant with her baby, her belly looks very realistic. Does anyone know how they make it look so real?

Answer: Using a mold, a realistic pregnancy belly is made of latex (rubber), including the distinct belly button, to suit the proportions of Emilie de Ravin who plays Claire. It is then painted with a special paint/adhesive compound that adheres to the surface and for shots of the actual belly, additional veining and stretch marks are airbrushed on.
