Hi, School - S7-E14
Corrected entry: When Doug sticks his head in coach Walcott's office the coach (played by Burt Reynolds) calls him by his real name Kevin, not Doug or Douglas, his character's name.
Strike One - S3-E5
Corrected entry: In this episode Doug buys their Jeep during the October-Palooza sale right as IPS goes on strike. Later in the episode Doug says he just wants to "put his shorts on and feel like a man again". However, October in New York (and moving forward in episodes "Strike Too" and "Strike Out") would be too cold to still be wearing shorts.
Correction: Much like UPS in real life, IPS defines their drivers in part by their shorts. This is a running gag on King Of Queens. Does says this just as a cop might say "I want to put on my badge again" even if he was working undercover.
Corrected entry: In this episode, Arthur asks Deacon to come down to the basement and he says to Carrie, "Anyway he can come up here, I've never been down there". But in the Pilot episode, Deacon and the guys are watching TV in the basement on Doug's new big screen TV.
Correction: Deacon doesn't want to go in the basement now that it is Arthur's room and no longer Doug's entertainment space, the way it was in the pilot episode. He is referring to the fact that he hasn't been down to Arthur's living quarters and is uncomfortable about going.
Mean Streak - S4-E3
Corrected entry: When Holli and Arthur return from their walk, Carrie says, "Hi, Holli. Hi, Ben."
Correction: She said "Hi, Dad."
Corrected entry: Deacon and Kelly rent a small apartment, however their bedroom is much larger than the Heffernan's. The master bedroom in their apartment would not be that big.
Soft Touch - S2-E22
Corrected entry: At the beginning of this episode Carrie parallel parks the car so close to the parking meter that Doug can't open the door enough to get out. However from the shot above the car, when Carrie stops you can see the parking meter is not in the same spot as from the inside shot when Doug can't open the door. (00:23:35)
Corrected entry: In this episode, Doug takes Arthur out to a favorite buffet. When switching shots between Doug and Arthur arguing about buying one or two meals, the coffee cup by Doug's right arm alternates as to whether it is there or not. (00:06:35)
Corrected entry: At the wedding, Deacon tells Doug that he also had disposable cameras out at his wedding, and that a guy took a photo of his butt. Doug and Deacon are best friends, so Doug would already know this. Doug would have been at the wedding, although it's never specified when Deacon and Kelly were married. (00:07:10)
Correction: In season 8 episode 3, Consummate Professional, there is a flashback in which they show Doug meeting Deacon for the first time at IPS. You can see Deacon's wedding ring, so they didn't know each other when Deacon got married.
Corrected entry: At the end, when the scout comes to the door selling cookies, Doug decides to buy a box of the shortbread ones. If you look at the cookies he actually takes, it's a box of the chocolate covered peanut butter cookies. (I believe Girl Scouts call them Tag a longs).
Correction: While he may have wanted a box of Shortbreads, he's in such a hurry he just grabs the closest box without looking. Since each box costs the same, she wouldn't care what he took. I've bought the wrong cookies before because I grabbed the wrong box without caring.
Corrected entry: In this episode, Carrie is yelling at Doug about their money troubles when he opens a beer and she says, "Oh great, you are having a very expensive foreign beer". Doug is drinking a Heineken, which is a moderately priced, very common beer.
Correction: As we all know, both Doug and Carrie are overly dramatic, and I am sure she was saying this sarcastically just to prove a point and knew that it was not an expensive beer.
Corrected entry: At the pizza shop, it shows Arthur inspecting the dollars to see if they are real. He holds a $1 up to the light to see if it's real. One dollar bills don't have the face printed on like other bills.
Correction: Arthur is known for being suspicious of things, so it's no surprise that he would try to check if a $1 is real, which you can't. It's not a mistake, just to show how suspicious he really is.
Corrected entry: When arguing with Carrie about having some of the festive cheese platter, Arthur goes for a "spoon to the wheel of brie", but from a previous episode (Ticker Treat - S4, E6) we found out that Arthur has banned soft cheeses along with celebrating Halloween. (01:10:20 - 01:10:55)
Correction: Arthur can be melodramatic and fussy. He probably made a big deal about banning soft cheeses at the time, but isn't very bothered by them in the long run.
No Retreat - S4-E5
Corrected entry: At Carrie's office retreat when Doug is pretending to be on the phone, the guy in the blue shirt at the buffet keeps repeating the same movements and changing position between shots. (00:07:10)
Corrected entry: Doug and Carrie leave the kitchen to go to the garage and are arguing. When they leave, Arthur is sat at the table reading his paper. However when Doug and Carrie return, 13 seconds later, Arthur has got two pieces of toast in front of him and is buttering one piece already. Yet there was no knife or butter on the table when Doug goes through. (00:04:20)
Correction: Before walking out, Doug tells Arthur his toast is ready. We see the smoke coming from the toaster. Arthur had enough time to get the toast and a knife. He's not buttering the toast, he's scrapping the burnt parts off.
Strike One - S3-E5
Corrected entry: In the scene where Doug is ordering his fudge blast (and extras), his hands never leave the steering wheel. In fact, his right hand is on top of the steering wheel the entire time. However, after his order is placed, he automatically goes to start the car. It should still be running.
Correction: The whole point of the scene was his car died on him while in the drive-thru, so he had to start it back up. In fact, you can hear the car die/shut off while Doug is ordering.
Corrected entry: When Arthur questions Carrie about having some of the festive cheese platter, he asks if it has anything to do with 'the appending arrival of Douglas' parents'. Appending is not the right word: he probably meant to say 'impending'. (01:10:20)
Correction: The character of Arthur is known to be obnoxious, boorish, and eccentric. He is often wrong and certainly does not seem teachable. Combined with his use of flowery speech makes the use of the word "appending" exactly his character style.
Strike One - S3-E5
Corrected entry: In this episode, when Carrie asks Doug about ripping out the shower tile without replacing it, Doug says he was "trying to save some money around here." It doesn't make sense that he would he decide to renovate the shower tile at all while on strike and trying to save money - he would still have to purchase a lot of materials even if he did it himself. We also know from earlier in the episode that Doug is not very handy when he breaks the cupboard handle while trying to just tighten it.
Correction: Doug is a bit of a moron, probably didn't think it through before he started tearing stuff down. Then it was too late, and it HAD to be fixed.
In fairness to Doug, people often think that home repair/remodelling jobs will be easy. They are convinced that the experienced professionals want to do a simple task and charge an outrageous price. However, you can create a bigger, more expensive mess by rushing into a project and not fully understanding what you are doing.
Corrected entry: When Carrie fixes this super-huge sandwich for Doug's football buddies, she tells him to stay away from one end, because she used bad meat there. However, the episode ends with Carrie and Doug eating the sandwich from either end.
Correction: They are probably just eating the "bad" meat. I don't think it was actually spoiled enough that it would make someone seriously ill, or else, Carrie would not have served it.
Corrected entry: Season 7 episode "Gym Neighbours". At the bit before the theme song, Arthur annoys Doug by reading the subtitles and listening to the sound at the same time. At the end of the sentence it says "peeeeeerfect", Arthur reads it exactly the same way. It is unlikely for subtitles to have been written in such way.
Correction: Actually, I watch movies with subtitles on and they often have spellings like that.
Corrected entry: In this episode Arthur orders a case of Sgt. Salty cereal. When Doug and Arthur are trying the cereal, you can see it is called Deep Sea, not Sgt. Salty. (00:12:45 - 00:13:35)
Correction: It's Sergeant Salty's Deep Sea Corn Loops, on the box.
Correction: The cereal is called "Sgt. Salty's Deep Sea Coin Roots" so Deep Sea being on the box is right.
Hey Ssiscool. I love all your attention to detail and obvious fondness of TKOQ! Where did you get this? Is this a real cereal somewhere?
Correction: No, he calls him by his last name, Heffernan.
