Two Thirty - S4-E24
Plot hole: In this episode Arthur scams Deacon and several other parents for phony piano lessons because he doesn't actually know how to play the piano. However, earlier in the series (Art House episode, S1 - E24) we learn that Arthur can play the piano when he temporarily moves out and after his house warming party Doug says to Carrie, "Who knew Arthur could play the piano like that?"
Continuity mistake: When Doug, Carrie, Deacon and Kelly are looking at the damage caused by the accident, the same kid in the black and red hat checking his watch walks by twice. (00:05:10)
Visible crew/equipment: Near the beginning when Doug comes into the kitchen and smashes the cake with the watermelon, you can see a stage light reflecting in the door window 3 times as it swings open. (00:00:10)
Character mistake: When Carrie finds Tina, she mentions the "stuff" that Tina listens to at work, and Tina tells her that it's salsa. We know from previous episodes that Carrie likes salsa dancing, so shouldn't she know salsa music?
Continuity mistake: When Doug, Carrie, Deacon and Kelly are at Coopers, the man in the blue shirt who is talking to the women sitting at the table behind them appears, disappears, walks off and then reappears again during this scene. (00:08:20 - 00:10:40)
Continuity mistake: When Deacon and Kirby are at Doug's the house over street is a mid terraced house in one shot, and an end terrace in another. (00:06:00)
Continuity mistake: When Carrie takes Doug into the back yard to yell at him, after she is done swinging at him, she puts her hand up to her chin. First it's her left, then right. It changes between shots. Each time the camera goes back to her it happens.
Revealing mistake: When Doug and Deacon are driving round trying to find Gabe's Pizzeria, they get into the car and pull out into the road. However if you look at the traffic, they would have hit at least 2 cars in doing so. But they don't, showing it's a projection. (00:14:40)
Continuity mistake: At the store, Doug picks up 5 or 6 bags of sweets. Most noticeable is 2 yellow bags. Camera cuts and they have disappeared. (00:01:05)
No Orleans - S4-E16
Continuity mistake: Doug made a blue snowcone in the kitchen and then goes into the living room to talk to Arthur. When he crosses the door in to the living room, the initially full snow cone is now almost gone. (00:02:05)
Visible crew/equipment: When Holly walks in at the start, a tape marker is visible on the floor. (00:09:10)
Mean Streak - S4-E3
Continuity mistake: When Doug is talking O'Boyle about the old guys, the time on the clock goes back. (00:05:30)
Shrink Wrap - S4-E25
Continuity mistake: In the scene when the therapist asks Arthur to recall a specific incident about not being heard from his childhood, he is playing with his pen cap. The shot cuts and he is instantly holding his note pad with both hands. (01:35:40)
Continuity mistake: At the accident scene when Deacon asks to have a picture taken with him and Doug, the same couple walks by three times. (00:05:30)
Continuity mistake: When Doug is putting lipstick on Carrie, the way she is holding her arms changes between shots (crossed then uncrossed). (00:14:50 - 00:15:40)
Revealing mistake: When Doug's mum is writing down the note about the T-11's, the writing is already on the pad. (00:14:40)
Continuity mistake: When Spence and Kirby are talking about why Spence can't make him a PB&J sandwich, the way Kirby holds the red action figure keeps changing. (00:06:15 - 00:06:55)
Continuity mistake: Carrie tells the preacher that she and Doug met at a bar. When she hears the lie about her falling on Doug as a kid, she believes it and acts as if that was their only meeting before the bar. But in the episode "Road Rayge", she mentioned a junior high school dance where Doug asked her to dance.
Chosen answer: That is most likely the case.
