Mr. Monk Goes to a Rock Concert - S5-E8
Continuity mistake: When Kris Kedder is on stage performing "Peggy's Gone to Memphis," notice that his 12-string guitar keeps changing positions between shots. In most of the long shots, he's holding and playing it. In most of the closer angles, it's hanging at his side and he's holding the microphone instead. (00:30:15)

Continuity mistake: There are two mistakes when Natalie runs up to Monk after he leaves the port-a-potty. First, notice that when Monk is replying to Natalie's first question, her thumb is sticking out, but it isn't when the shot cuts to a front shot of Natalie. Secondly, as Natalie is leading Monk away, her purse has gone from being over her shoulder to being over her elbow, and back when Monk and Natalie turn to see Stork's body fall out of the port-a-potty. Other mistake: At the end, when they're putting Kris in the cop car, you can see the car numbers don't match. On the door it's listed as car number "664", but on the roof it's is number "32" something.

Continuity mistake: When Monk and Natalie are first talking to Kendra Frank, when Kendra says,"Look, they're trying to say he OD'd! Okay? That's impossible! He's been clean for 17 months! I know, I talked to him about it every day!" you can see that Monk has his right arm down by his side. But when the camera changes angle to Natalie replying,"Well, Kendra, we were there. We saw a needle in his arm," Monk's right hand goes from being by his side to scratching the side of his cheek with his finger. (00:13:10 - 00:14:35)

Continuity mistake: The lighting and position of the sun changes constantly throughout the episode and between scenes. For example, when Monk and Natalie are at the first aid tent, it looks cloudy and the lighting suggests that it is midday. Yet in the very next scene, when Monk, Natalie and Kendra catch up to Stottlemeyer, Disher and Jared, it appears to be sunny and late afternoon/early evening. (00:19:00 - 00:25:05)
Answer: Stottlemeyer was already upset after the phone call. He was trying to get "Kevin" (who would have to be a judge, but no further character information is given) to issue a restraining order with no evidence of needing one, except that Adrian Monk said she needs one. Kevin said he would need to "sleep on it." So it's clear they've been trying to provide protection and unable to get the results they need, which seems to be based on no one trusting Monk the way Stottlemeyer does. He's just angry that they failed to protect Linda despite all their work. Although it does feel like a scene was cut, or altered, from the show that shows the futile attempts to protect Linda which built up to his outrage.
