Do You See What I See? - S4-E10
Continuity mistake: The paramedics bring Lenny by ambulance and are taking him out of the back of it - Carter picks up the chart from the gurney as the paramedic describes the patient - but suddenly the chart is back on the gurney - we should have seen Carter do this but we don't.
Continuity mistake: When Anna is holding the "virtual pet" after realising it has died, in the shots from the front she is holding it in both hands, but from the back it's only in her right hand. It's tricky to see because there is a pile of papers in the way, but her left hand is folded in front of her in the shots from behind.
Continuity mistake: Lizzie puts two cans of soft drink on the table in front of Peter - but a short time later they have moved noticeably, even though neither of them touched them.
Continuity mistake: When Carter comes into the ER with breakfast for everyone, he slips on the muddy floor and the food goes flying. A cardboard tray flies straight up from his left hand but ends up a few feet to his right, which defies the laws of physics.
Continuity mistake: Dr. Wesr is talking to Kerry outside while it is snowing. He has quite a lot of snow on his shoulders, but within a few seconds, most of it has disappeared, which in real life wouldn't happen.
Continuity mistake: During the last 2 minutes, Jerry is patronizing Dr. Waver. As he walks away, you see Dr. Greene (who has not been in this episode until now) walk across the hall in the background. A few moments later, outside, after Dr. Carter finishes chatting with the fire chief, he bumps into Dr. Greene outside. Dr. Greene is on his way in for his shift starting in 5 minutes and explains that he is coming straight from the airport. (00:43:22 - 00:44:50)
Continuity mistake: Carter rushes over to a Coke dispenser where there are four plastic jugs filled with ice and we see him dump all four of them into a plastic tub. The camera goes to Anna, who says "Carter, Carter" and then we see him dump the last two jugs again. When Carter reaches the patient, there is considerably more ice in the tub than he had to begin with.
Continuity mistake: When Carter is doing the eye test on the old woman, between shots he is holding the glass in front of a different eye instantly.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the show, Doug is working on the computer while Mark is talking to him. At first there is a document sitting on top of a thick black book but that disappears after a couple of shots - and neither of them touched it.
Continuity mistake: Romano is standing outside an ER room watching through the glass. To his left, down the hall, we can see a woman pushing someone in a wheelchair. But when the shot goes to him entering the room, there's an extra behind him on the left pushing a large cart of supplies - there was nowhere for him to come from.
Continuity mistake: Mark comes into the cafeteria with a sytrofoam bowl of something, and when he sits down he starts to take the lid off. The next shot shows him already eating it with a spoon - there was no time to accomplish this so quickly.
Continuity mistake: When the "accident" victims are brought in near near the start of the show, a woman wearing overalls is covered in masses of glistening blood in the closeup - but the wider shot shows less blood and it is much more dried on her clothing.
Continuity mistake: Lizzie sees Dr. Morgenstern for the first time in the ER and she asks Kerry, "Who the hell was that?", and Kerry answers, "Our Chief of Emergency Medicine." Yet when he resigns in Episode 19, he tells Peter he's resigning as Chief of Surgery. Unless he held both positions, Kerry's answer could not be considered a character mistake, as she would have known what his position was.
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the show, Peter is feeding Reese in the hospital cafeteria. Reese has a bowl of pablum that is in the middle of his high chair tray. The next shot shows the bowl way over to the left, even though there was no time for the change in position.
Continuity mistake: When Doug is sitting at the cafeteria with Mark, Peter and baby Reese, his arm is stretched out on the table as Peter says, "fifteen minutes of quality time". The shot changes and suddenly there is no sign of his arm.
Continuity mistake: Just before Peter bends over beside Reese, an extra is starting to walk behind them. The next shot shows the cereal on Peter's head and we should be able to still see the extra, but there's no sign of him.
Continuity mistake: In the OR, Peter is trying to save Dr. Swanson's life. Lizzie is standing in the corner watching. She has her right hand up to her chin, resting the elbow on her left hand, which is at her waist. Subsequent shots show the opposite - her left hand on her right.
Continuity mistake: The patient Zoe is in the ER with her boyfriend while Doug, Carol and Lydia work around her. At one point she puts her hand up to her throat, but in the next shot it's down by her hip, without enough time for the change.
Continuity mistake: Doug goes into the ER room to respond to the boy, who's saying "go away." His mother has her arm around his head and is telling the drunk with his teeth out to go away. Then the shot changes and we see the boy's head, but no mother. A quick shot change and there she is again, cradling his head.
Of Past Regret and Future Fear - S4-E20
Continuity mistake: After Anna tells Tina Marie she might have kidney problems, Tina grabs her husband Emmett's hand and then puts her other hand over it; the next shot shows her hand is still on the tray and then she moves it to cover Emmett's again.
Answer: A man named Paul Sobriki comes into the ER in the season 6 episode 13 " All in the Family." He is complaining of headaches, Carter and Lucy decide to rule out meningitis and do a lumber puncture. Paul struggles during the procedure and believes that both doctors are stabbing him. Lucy, who is interested in Psych thinks something is wrong with their patient mentally, but Carter is dismissive of her. She gets cross with his attitude and she calls the psych department anyway to have a look at him. Later on and near the closing 20 minutes or so of the episode, all the staff start playing loud music and get a cake which appears to be blue lol, together to party as it's Valentines Day, Carter returns from somewhere and asks where Lucy is. He goes to check one of the rooms for her and Paul Sobriki comes up behind him in the dark and stabs him twice in the lower back, he collapses and as he falls unconscious he sees Lucy on the ground also. In the next episode, Be Still My Heart (ep 14), Dr Weaver discovers them and all of the staff work to try and save them, whilst Carter survives. Lucy's wounds are fatal and suffers a pulmonary embolism as Corday and Romano try to save her. Carter is grief stricken and feels guilty about the way he treated her, he becomes addicted to painkillers and Benton, Greene all help him and book him into rehab.
