Continuity mistake: When Ben is spinning JD round on his shoulder, from a long cut he is spinning JD backwards, but in the closeup JD is spinning with his head facing forward.

My Bad - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: When Turk and Elliott are in the line at the cafeteria, you can see that Turk has two plates on his tray and Elliott has a juice box on her tray. When they turn around at the end of the line Turk has just one plate on his tray and the juice box on Elliott's tray is also gone.

My Sacrificial Clam - S1-E21

Continuity mistake: After JD has done the "Eliott got some booty" song they both walk through a door, a patient in a red dressing gown then walks past. He wasn't there before they started walking and wouldn't have had been able to get there in that amount of time.

My Nickname - S1-E10

Continuity mistake: When Dr Cox goes to speak to Miss Tracy, he walks past the nurses' station where the clock reads around quarter to 12. The same clock is viewable behind him once he is in Miss Tracy's room, and the time now reads around half past 9.

My Nickname - S1-E10

Continuity mistake: When Carla says "If I wanted his ass kicked I'd do it myself" and Todd makes the cat sound, Turk has his arm on the couch behind Carla's back. When it cuts his arm is gone. He couldn't have moved it that fast.

My Student - S1-E17

Continuity mistake: In the cafeteria, there is a bottle of water on the table in front of Turk. This vanishes before Dr Cox comes to speak with him. It is not one of the items on the tray that Kirsten removes from the table.

My Sacrificial Clam - S1-E21

Continuity mistake: As Dr Cox is talking to J.D. towards the end of the episode and telling him that he won't let him treat the patient he traded, Dr Cox is putting on his white overcoat. If you look at his collar on the right side it is a little crumpled and not quite straight. The next shot we see over his shoulder and the collar has straightened out. The following shot it returns back to being crumpled up a bit.

Lummie

My Way Home - S5-E7

Character mistake: Early in the episode, Keith pages JD from home to the hospital. When JD arrives, he asks Keith what's the big emergency and Keith asks if he wants the patient to be prescribed unfractionated or low molecular weight heparin. JD gets angry and says that they're the exact same thing. This is in fact completely incorrect. Low molecular weight heparin is made from fragments of unfractionated heparin. They have different effects in their metabolism, half life and dose monitoring (unfractionated needs a blood test, low molecular weight doesn't). The choice between unfractionated and LMWH is an important clinical decision and should not be dismissed as "the exact same thing".

Season 1 generally

Question: In one episode (I think it's My Balancing Act) Dr Kelso is trying to scare the interns, so he pulls his face off and 'becomes' a guy with crazy ginger hair and a very annoying loud voice. I'm a Brit so that's maybe why I don't recognise this guy. Is he supposed to be someone famous?

Answer: This is an American comedian called Scott Thompson, more widely known by his stage name of "Carrot Top".
