The Simpsons mistake picture Video

Show generally

Continuity mistake: This is a mistake for the introduction from seasons 2-20 (1991-2009). When Homer screams, he turns round. You see this in a wide shot. There are no boxes to the right of the door in the garage. However, two just appear out of thin air when he runs through the garage. (00:01:50)

Homer's Barbershop Quartet - S5-E1

Continuity mistake: When you see a shot of the church from outside in the scene where the bee sharps sing there, look closely at the sign. It says 'Also: The Bee Sharps', only they don't name themselves that until later on in that episode.

Continuity mistake: When Bart leaves the school, you can see that his skateboard is green and perfectly flat. But when he is skating through the crowd and past the people at the bus stop, the skateboard has an orange stripe down the middle and is raised at the rear.

Bart Gets a Z - S21-E2

Continuity mistake: Ms. Krabapple takes the cellular devices from the children in her class and puts them in a Laramie Cigarette box. She dumps the box into a desk drawer filled with frogs. A few seconds later there is a shot of the class from her point of view with all of their cellular devices on their desks. (00:03:00 - 00:08:15)

The Bonfire Of The Manatees - S17-E1

Factual error: Alec Baldwin, as an expert on manatees, says that they are also called dugongs. Manatees are found in Atlantic coastal waters and in the Amazon and tributaries. The dugong is a distinct species found in the coastal waters of the Indian and southwest Pacific oceans.

Lisa's Pony - S3-E8

Audio problem: When Lisa rides past on her pony, Ralph is sitting on the fence with another boy who says, 'She really tamed that horse', Ralph says, 'Yes but who can tame her?' However he speaks with a deeper voice as opposed to his higher squeaky voice, and sounds exactly like Nelson Muntz. (00:15:55)

Lisa's First Word - S4-E10

Continuity mistake: In the bit where they sit on the sofa at the start of each episode, there is one rather long one where it starts off with the Simpsons dancing in a line, then gradually evolves into a circus with elephants and men dancing around fire. Look closely in between Homer's right leg and the dancing woman on his right. There is a pile of books on the little shelf underneath the lamp and telephone, and just as the camera starts zooming out from the line of dancing, the orange book on the left noticeably changes to purple. (00:01:20)

Factual error: During the theme, the Simpsons' mailbox flag is on the wrong side of the mailbox. (Flags are always on a mailbox's right side, when viewed from The Front. The one at the Simpson home is on the left side of their mailbox). (00:01:45)

Show generally

Revealing mistake: In all the intro scenes from season 2 to season 20, episode 9, in the wideshot where Bart skateboards out of the school, if you look closely, part of the sky can be seen on the ground. (This mistake may only apply to the original format).

Homer's brain: It's simple, just use reverse psychology.
Homer: Reverse psychology? That sounds too complicated.
Homer's brain: Alright, don't use reverse psychology.
Homer: Alright, I will!

Tree House of Horror V - S6-E6

Question: Homer travels back in time and causes changes by what he does in the past, like stepping on a bug. I once saw a movie with the same basic plot: some people travel back in time and are told to be careful not to disturb anything, but when they return to their time everything has changed. In the end they discover it was because they stepped on a butterfly. Does anyone know the name of this movie?

Answer: I'm not sure if this is the one you're thinking of, but an episode of "Ray Bradbury Theatre," called "A Sound of Thunder," dealt with a similar matter: a group of hunters travel back in time to hunt dinosaurs, only to find things have changed when they get back because someone stepped on a butterfly.
