Continuity mistake: When Frasier and Poppy are sitting on his couch having a drink, the level in the wine bottle goes down and up and down throughout the scene, with no logical reason.
Continuity mistake: When Frasier first meets Poppy, she says something like "but not in the brewery thank you very much." When she does this you can see she's holding her hand out in front, in the next shot it's by her side instantly.
Continuity mistake: When Poppy is just about to start her show and is being emotional with everyone, Roz is standing at the door with a corded phone to her ear throughout the scene. She yells "Ten seconds." and the shot shows the phone, cord and all, has completely disappeared.
Continuity mistake: Frasier is sitting on his couch with Poppy, dropping hints about having an arts show on KACL - she has her hands folded on her knee. As Daphne says "he means your mother", the shot changes, and Poppy is suddenly holding a glass of wine, with no time for this to have happened.
Continuity mistake: Poppy is sitting in Frasier's chair in his booth and as she says "all these buttons, how do you do it?", she slaps her hand down on the console. As he begins to answer her, the hand is back in her lap.
Continuity mistake: Toward the end of the episode when Poppy is airing her first "arts in Seattle" show, Frasier, Kenny, and Gil convene in the hall outside Frasier's booth to talk. Right after Gil speaks during Frasier's monologue beginning with "I assure you, she is way over her depth here...", viewers can see Poppy through the window sitting at the booth with her mouth closed, looking around (and even up at the ceiling), appearing to be waiting. A split second later, the camera cuts to Poppy in mid-sentence during her live broadcast.
Answer: Nanny G (Nanette Guzman - played by Laurie Metcaf) has been a children's entertainer for twenty years, and tells Frasier, "Do you know what it's like to play the same character for 20 years?!" The joke is that Kelsey Grammer has been playing Frasier Crane since 1984, when the character first appeared on "Cheers", so Kelsey in real life has been doing just that!
