Carbon Creek - S2-E2
Factual error: The story takes place in 1957 (Sputnik is already in orbit). At the end, T'Mir sells her invention, which ends up being Velcro (technically hook and loop fastener). However, George de Mestral obtained the patent for Velcro in 1955, and by 1957 he had already expanded into the United States.
Factual error: When Capt. Archer joins Travis in a weightless environment he refers to in an earlier episode as the ship's "sweet spot", Travis discusses the bad news he received from The Horizon, his parents' cargo ship, with Capt. Archer, and you see tears rolling down (and off) Travis's face. In a weightless environment the tears would not react in this way. (00:06:20 - 00:07:40)
Factual error: At the very end of the episode after Loomis is arrested, the camera pans away from the Detroit street, but mountains can be seen in the background on the horizon. There aren't any mountains or even large hills near Detroit.
Factual error: In a cutscene showing Enterprise in orbit around Earth, the Great Lakes can be seen below. The video is reversed left-to-right. (00:08:40)
Answer: Acording to the Star Trek Encyclopedia Cochrane was born in 2030. His warp flight was in 2063, and he himself disappeared from Alpha Centauri in the year 2117 at 87. Kirk met him on a planetoid in the Gsmms Canaris region in the year 2267 making him 237. The first episode of Enterprise is in 2151, so Cochrane was missing for 34 years by that time and would have been 121 at that time.
