Lost Weekend - S5-E2

Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, the airport staff member (visible in the background) announces that the final boarding for Dawson's flight is at gate C-3. As the scene ends, the camera pulls away to reveal the gate number to be B-1.

Capeside Revisited - S5-E3

Continuity mistake: When Dawson's parents are outside talking, sitting on the picnic table, Gail reaches over and kisses Mitch. She then slides her right arm back down to rest on her lap, and her hand on his lower arm. But the very next shot, Gail's right hand is suddenly holding Mitch's arm, up by his shoulder. She hasn't moved between shots.

The Long Goodbye - S5-E4

Continuity mistake: In the intro to this episode, the camera is panning the family photos of Dawson and his family. There is a close-up of a photo of Dawson and his parents, and Gail has the really long 'big' hair she only wore in Season 1. At this time, Dawson looked much younger and had longish hair himself. But in the photo-Dawson has much shorter hair and looks older as in current time. Apparently the photos were put together just for this episode.

High Anxiety - S5-E6

Plot hole: In the beginning of the episode, Dawson is talking to his Doctor about seeing a Psychiatrist for his panic attacks. The Doctor mentions the name of one in Boston, and calls out to the assistant to make an appointment for Dawson. But only about 12 seconds (real time) later, the assistant suddenly comes in and already has made an appointment for Dawson the next day at 5PM. There is no way the assistant could have possibly gotten ahold of a busy Psychiatrist in Boston, and made a confirmed appointment for Dawson in only 12 seconds. It would take longer than that, especially as most Psychiatrists have phone menus where they have to return calls from. (00:01:25)

High Anxiety - S5-E6

Continuity mistake: When Charlie's two girlfriends play along in his dorm room, their positions change back and forth from close together to about a foot apart between shots. (00:24:30 - 00:25:00)

High Anxiety - S5-E6

Continuity mistake: When Joey is talking to Pacey at the boat party, she turns to face him. At this point, her hair is behind her shoulder on the left but the wind blows it in front of her right shoulder. Her hair is in front of her right shoulder during this entire shot. But in the next shot, she is suddenly facing Pacey square on to the camera, and her hair is now back behind both shoulders. The transition is almost instantaneous, so it isn't realistic that her hair would suddenly move from in front of her right shoulder to behind it that quickly without her touching it. (00:28:05)

Hotel New Hampshire - S5-E8

Continuity mistake: Pacy is having supper at a restaurant, and he pulls off his lobster bib. As the shot changes to over his shoulder, the bib is still present. Next shot of his front, the bib is gone. (00:16:30)

Four Scary Stories - S5-E9

Continuity mistake: During the 'Urban Legend' that Pacey is telling everyone, he and his co-worker are being chased by an evil car. Right after they leave the creepy Diner, they come upon the enemy car facing them parked across the highway. Pacey slams to a stop, and they are facing the car head-on in very close proximity, right in front of them. But the next shot shows that same car much further away, down the road and Pacey hasn't moved yet.

Something Wild - S5-E11

Audio problem: When Dawson goes into his bedroom to talk to Jen, he tells her that he had an entire "impassionate" speech to tell her. It sounds like he fumbled his dialogue, and meant to say either "impassioned" or "passionate," but got the words mixed up in his head and ended up blending them together. (00:33:40)

Something Wild - S5-E11

Audio problem: When Charlie is trying to hit on Joey at the College Bar, she makes fun of him referring to him as the "Bass Player to take home to Mom" or something similar. However, when you see and hear Charlie playing in the band during that episode, it sounds like he is specifically playing either electric lead or electric rhythm or both, *not* bass.

Sleeping Arrangements - S5-E12

Continuity mistake: When Joey is talking to Elliot in the classroom, she bends over her desk and gathers all her hair in front of her left shoulder. But in the next shot of her, you can see that her hair is suddenly in front of both shoulders. The transition was too quick to be realistic. (00:06:45)

Something Wilder - S5-E13

Continuity mistake: In the beginning of this episode, we see Jen and Dawson going into the kitchen where Jen gives him his "back to school' gifts for Film School. As Jen slides across the front of the kitchen counter in her pajamas, her back is to us and she bends slightly forward. Right at this point you can see a real tattoo on the lower back of Michelle Williams, the Actress. This view lasts for a few seconds as she moves into position at the counter. This same tattoo was air-brushed out from a previous episode. During Season 4 Episode 22 "The Graduate" (00-08-49 run time); there is a scene where Jen is wearing pajamas and bending over with her back to us, helping Drue Valentine through her bedroom window. At this point her lower back tattoo was showing, and the Executive Producer mentioned that they had to airbrush it out as they felt it wasn't appropriate for her character Jen. I guess in this Season 5 episode in the kitchen; they either didn't notice her tattoo showing, or chose to ignore it. But it is visible if you watch closely. (00:00:20)

Downtown Crossing (2) - S5-E15

Continuity mistake: When Joey is talking to the Mugger in the hospital room, every time they show her sitting down in her chair or getting up from it the chair looks like it is quite far from the bed, down past the foot of the bed, about 10 feet or so from the guy. But all the other shots she appears to be sitting much closer, only a few feet away from his face. (00:31:35 - 00:38:05)

Downtown Crossing (2) - S5-E15

Continuity mistake: While Joey is talking to the Mugger in the hospital room, her hair frequently changes very suddenly between shots from being tucked behind her ears to hanging in front of them. This goes on during the entire scene; and towards the end as the Mugger dies her hair goes from being in front of her ears, to next shot of her hair being tucked behind her ears but not crying, to next shot of her hair being behind ears, pushed back off the forehead and she is openly crying with tears streaming down from both eyes. The changes are too sudden to be realistic, and at this point her hands are in her lap wrapped in her jacket. (00:34:25 - 00:37:30)

Downtown Crossing (2) - S5-E15

Plot hole: When Joey suddenly regains consciousness in the ER, she is sitting upright on the end of a hospital bed or gurney. But this doesn't make logical sense, because if she were really unconscious she would be laying down. Yet it's made very clear in that shot, that she is opening her eyes for the first time after fainting and being unconscious.

Highway To Hell - S5-E17

Continuity mistake: When Pacey is handing Audrey the cupcake in the motel room, he places a small candle on it first. When he puts the candle on the cupcake, it's noticably crooked. But in the next shot showing the cupcake, the candle suddenly appears much straighter. (00:37:55)

Cigarette Burns - S5-E18

Revealing mistake: When Pacey and Audrey are in bed at Pacey's boss' house, there is a shot where Pacey is lying back down beside Audrey. He appears to be wearing a tank-top style t-shirt, and loose boxers. But you can see that he is actually wearing tighter white briefs UNDER the boxers, obviously so as not to be too revealing. Therefore the boxers aren't really his underwear. (00:06:10)

100 Light Years From Home - S5-E19

Audio problem: When the band M to M is performing at the MTV concert, the girls start singing a song that requires a very tight harmony. During the entire time they are singing together, the camera shows close-ups of both girls. But at one point, they show the second girl with the guitar simply smiling and looking up. She is *not* singing at all, yet the song continues to have both their voices in the harmony. The rest of the bandmembers are male, and the harmony was formed by the two female lead singers. (00:13:30)

100 Light Years From Home - S5-E19

Plot hole: At the end of the episode, Dawson is seated in the kitchen talking to Pacey in a normally loud voice. At the same time, Joey and Charlie are awake and talking in the pup tent in the living room, very close to the kitchen. Later in the Season we learn that Joey had no idea Dawson had driven down to Florida to see her, as apparently he left without seeing or talking to her. But being in such close proximity that morning; there is no way Joey would not have been able to hear Dawson's voice as he talked with Pacey. The living room was close enough to the kitchen, so it doesn't make sense that Joey wouldn't have known Dawson was there and if she did-she would have gone to talk to him.

Jen: Do you remember when you were ten and your Mom wouldn't get you that candy bar that you really, really wanted? Didn't you ever just... Swipe it?
Dawson: No.

Parental Discretion Advised - S2-E22

Trivia: Paul Stupin mentions this true story while discussing the show during the narrative for this episode. Once when Joshua Jackson (who played Pacey) was out swimming at night, there was a girl who was caught in some currents. He jumped in the water, swam out and brought the girl to safety. Joshua made the local newspapers as a "hero", and was known around Wilmington as 'the guy who saved the drowning girl'. The show also had a big ceremony on the set, where they gave Joshua a life preserver in honor of his heroic deeds. (00:06:10)

...Must Come to an End (2) - S6-E24

Question: The ending scene of the Series Finale shows Joey and Pacey apparently living together in a high-rise apartment. The TV looks the same as her NYC apartment, and there is a beautiful window view of lighted high-rise buildings and a harbor or bay. The question is - is this Boston or NYC? Are they living in her previous NYC apartment, or did they find a new place together in nearby Boston? It looked to me more like Boston, but Pacey had just started his restaurant business in Capeside and that is an hour away. Where are they living at the end of the series? It was vague to me.

Answer: It's the same apartment Joey had in NYC. Comparing it to the beginning of the Finale; you can tell it's exactly the same location, furnishings, Plasma TV etc. Apparently Chris was only living with her at HER apartment, and now Pacey has taken his place at the end. I guess this implies Pacey successfully started his own restaurant business in NYC as he had dreamed, to be with Joey.
