Continuity mistake: After Hui-seong tells his parents to annul the engagement, there is a montage of him setting up his work desk. A small blue notepad can be seen placed on top of blank pieces of A4 paper. The notepad is positioned towards the edge of the page, next to other accessories on the desk. But in the next shot, the notepad is now positioned at the opposite edge of the page, away from all the other accessories. (01:01:18)

Continuity mistake: When Hui-seong is sitting at the poker game with the other women, in the shots focusing on Ae-sun, she is shown with two fingers placed on the back of the playing cards. But in the wide shots of the table, she is shown with three fingers placed on the back of the cards. (01:02:33)

Continuity mistake: When Eugene is about to shoot Wan-ik, after the flashback of Yong-ju saying "The one who killed Sang-wan and his wife was Lee Wan-ik", the scene cuts back to Wan-ik. In the shot, we can see his aid standing behind Wan-ik, to the right of him. The camera cuts to Eugene aiming, but when he fires in the next shot, the aid is now behind Wan-ik on his left. In the same shot, he ducks down, but in the following wide shot, he is standing upright. (00:12:00)

Continuity mistake: Il-sik and Chun-sik approach Hina with some drawings they made for. Just as Hina says "I don't think I'll need this anymore", the two men look surprised. One of them has a ribbon (used to tie his hat with) on his shoulder. But in the next shot, the ribbon is off his shoulder. (00:56:20)

Continuity mistake: After Hina refused to use the drawing that Chun-sik and Il-sik made, when Il-sik says "If they parted young, it would be her mother", the ribbons used to tie his hat with are still. When the camera changes angles to focus on Chun-sik, where the ribbons are now blowing in the wind. Then when it cuts back to Il-sik, the ribbons are still again. (00:57:10)

Continuity mistake: When Ae-sin is practising her shooting skills, in a shot focusing on her, we can see her thumb is placed along the side of the rifle at a horizontal angle. When the shot cuts, her thumb is at a vertical angle. Then two shots after that, at a horizontal angle again. (00:58:33)

Continuity mistake: After Dong-mae has been shot and has a flashback to a greeting he had with Ae-sin, there is a streak of blood shown coming out of his mouth going down to the bottom of his chin. The shot cuts to Hui-seong, but when it cuts back to Dong-mae, two additional (smaller) streaks of blood have suddenly appeared next to the first blood streak. (01:08:13)

Continuity mistake: When the Japanese soldiers are arresting the English teacher and Nam-jong attempts to intervene, whilst one of the soldiers says "This American witch sold Japanese information to America", he is shown holding the strap for his rifle with his hand near his chest. When the camera changes angles, his hand is touching the bottom of the strap (near the butt of the rifle). (01:09:02)

Continuity mistake: When Hina is sword fighting with the Japanese soldier, and he slips over, in the overview shot, he is shown dropping his sword. When they go to help him up a few seconds later, the sword is now in his hand. (00:16:48)

Factual error: On the wooden globe in Eugene's office, China is listed with the name "People's Republic of China." This name was not first proclaimed until 1949, whereas this episode takes place in 1903. (00:27:28)

Factual error: When Eugene is searching through the drawers for the list of Joseon mobs, a book with Yogi Berra listed on the spine can be seen on top of the drawers. Yogi Berra didn't begin his baseball career until 1946, and he wasn't even born until 1925, over 20 years after this episode takes place. (00:18:40)

Continuity mistake: When Sa-hong catches Deok-mun threatening Ae-sun, in the shot of Deok-mun realising he is standing there, he has his hand raised in the air as he was about to hit Ae-sun. When it cuts to a wide shot, his hand is suddenly lowered. (00:44:59)

Continuity mistake: When Mrs. Haman hugs Ae-sin after Sa-hong dies, in one shot, Haman is shown placing her right arm over Ae-sin's shoulder. When the camera changes angles, her arm is much lower down Ae-sin's torso. (00:55:03)

Plot hole: At the end of the previous episode, Ms. Haman is shot by a Japanese soldier. The shot is severe enough to make her collapse to the ground and fall unconscious. But in this episode, she appears perfectly fine without any sign of being shot, and without any injury in sight. (00:07:30)

Plot hole: After Ae-sin shoots Wan-ik and flees, Hina shoots Dr. Matsuyama with a six-shooter and plants the gun in his hand to make it appear as if he shot both Wan-ik and himself in a murder-suicide. However, Ae-sin shot Wan-ik with a rifle, meaning the bullets that were used to shoot Wan-ik and the bullet that was used to shoot the doctor were completely different bullets; the authorities would realise this when an autopsy on the two is performed. Continuity mistake: When Hui-seong is wondering if Ae-sin will come to him to hide, the cigarette he is holding is raised so that it is level with his chin. When the camera cuts to a wide shot, the cigarette is lowered to his side. (00:30:30)

Plot hole: When Takashi is rescued by the other soldiers, he finds a piece of red fabric on him. He then has a flashback to the scene where that same piece of red fabric fell from Hong-pa's body whilst she was hanging beneath the tunnel and realises they are both the same piece. However, when this scene played out earlier, Takashi did not see this happen. He was on top of the bridge and was being held at gunpoint by Eugene, so he couldn't have seen the piece of fabric fall from her body. (00:46:10)

Revealing mistake: When Eugene receives his return orders, not only is it from the wrong Roosevelt, but above the Eagle, it says the "State" of Washington rather than being from Washington DC, which is not a state. (01:08:16)

Factual error: Eugene is given a return order from the President telling him to return to America. The name of the President listed on the order is Franklin D. Roosevelt, but he did not become President until 1933. In 1904, when the episode takes place, Theodore Roosevelt was the President. (01:08:16)

Trivia: Daily Mail journalist Frederick McKenzie takes a photo of the Righteous Army, which is stated to be the only existing photo of Korea's freedom fighters. This photo is a direct recreation of a real-life photo of the Righteous Army, taken by Frederick McKenzie (who was a real-life war journalist) and is to date, the only existing photo of Korea's freedom fighters.
