Continuity mistake: When Rockford and Len dig up the box in the chicken shed Jolene is the one who retrieves it. In the two closeups, as Jolene lifts the box and then as she removes the contents her nail polish changes and her ring/bracelet vanish. (00:46:20)
Continuity mistake: When Rockford finds the rock band clipping amongst Aura Lee's collection of matchbooks, it's been cut directly above the heading "Underground Railroad" when we see it in closeup twice. First time at the beach, then later when Rockford and Sara start back at square one. but while they're still back at square one Rockford phones Becker, and now the words "Coming Soon!" precede the "Underground Railroad" heading. Continuity mistake: Very early in the episode Aura Lee is hitchhiking while carrying a large suitcase. She runs to the car driven by Robert Webber and stands outside the car with the suitcase in hand, which disappears as she enters the car.
Continuity mistake: When Rockford goes to see Diana a second time it's too late, so he begins to search her dresser. As Rockford closes the third drawer a folded brown cloth (scarf perhaps) gets caught at the top, but after he completes his search of the rest of the drawers, that third drawer is closed properly. Continuity mistake: At the start, when Claire is being chased by the two goons, as they make a sharp right turn their car's front left hubcap flies across the street, then when they pull up behind Claire's parked car, the hubcap reappears on their tire. (00:02:40)

Continuity mistake: Early in the morning, before Rockford heads out to the airport for a stand-by flight, when he picks up the phone receiver he holds it in his right hand, then it cuts to a closeup. This closeup presents three issues. One, Rockford is wearing a pinky ring on his right hand that doesn't exist otherwise; two, a rolodex suddenly appears beside the telephone; three, the right hand in the closeup is not holding the receiver. Continuity mistake: During the car chase, when Rockford pulls into a lot thinking he dodged Hammel's two goons a moment later they back up, and as they make a sharp spin their car's front left hubcap flies off, but it reappears on that tire a few shots later. (00:22:55)
Continuity mistake: After Rocky tells Houston about her grandfather's murder Rockford tells his dad to give her a little time, and then it cuts to the closeup of Houston slamming the butter onto a rectangular butter dish. Continuity mistake: When Rockford goes to see his friend the preacher to ask about a new fence in town, the wood box that the preacher opens has the word "donation" on it, with the bottom of the letters facing the hinged side of the box. In the box's closeup some changes include: the wood top is now different and the word "donation" faces the opposite way, with the top of the letters facing the hinged side. (00:38:40)

Continuity mistake: When Rockford and "Angelo" are at La Rue for lunch Angel is wearing a ring on his right pinky, but in the closeup of Angel mishandling the escargot tongs, the pinky ring vanishes and then it reappears. (00:07:50)

Continuity mistake: While Rockford is at the Paddock Club restaurant with Al and Marcy, there's a filled salad plate and a place setting on the table in front of Rockford, but everything disappears in two different shots facing only Al and Marcy. Then it all reappears in its proper place. (00:20:55)

Continuity mistake: While Rockford is staking out Stabila's house, in a closeup he jots down Nejman's license plate number, then Rockford places his notebook aside. In this closeup note the Chevrolet Impala emblem at the steering wheel center (looks like the 1968 Impala version), though Rockford drives a 1976 Pontiac Firebird Esprit with a different steering wheel. Continuity mistake: At the motel, when Rockford and Hudson are walking down the stairs during the citizen's arrest, in the closeup of the scuffle Rockford is wearing a dark belt with a large rectangular gold buckle, but in the following shots he's wearing a tan colored belt with a simple single prong buckle. Continuity mistake: When Rockford finds the money in Rocky's mail, Angel pulls a requisite Angel move and swipes some of the bills. Angel's lowest two polo shirt buttons are open, but in the next closeup as he shoves a bill into his shirt pocket those buttons are closed, then open again. (00:06:10)
The Battle of Canoga Park - S4-E3
Continuity mistake: When Becker and then Rockford get wet from the sprinkler on their way to Lee's front door, in the wide shot there's mail in the mailbox, but in the next semi-closeup the mail has vanished. (00:26:10)
Continuity mistake: While Rockford convinces Rocky to temporarily stay at LJ's, Angel fixes himself a sandwich then lifts the plate with his left hand and grabs the beer with his right hand, but next shot the items have switched hands in midair. (00:41:50)
