I Caddyshacked the Pool - S3-E4
Factual error: We Are the World was new on TV (came out in 1985) but later Adam is seen playing a Gameboy, which was released in 1989.
Continuity mistake: Flashback scene in the beginning shows that Beverly Goldberg has always trick-or-treated with Adam as he was growing up and it was a tradition. In Season 1 episode 6 the episode is about Adam breaking his tradition of trick-or-treating with Pops.
Factual error: Whilst Adam and Erika discuss their grandfather buying a timeshare in Florida Adam states that their Grandfather is 80 years old. Erika responds that he was born in 1903 - thus setting the episode in 1983. However Adam is wearing a "Queen A Kind of Magic" T-shirt - an album that wasn't released until 1986.
Continuity mistake: When the gym teacher holds hands with the students, he, Barry and Erica are close together in the tight shots, but further away from each other in the long shots.
Double Dare - S3-E13
Factual error: When watching a game, Barry mentions what the Eagles need to tie he mentions a two-point conversion. The NFL didn't adopt this until 1994, so it wouldn't have been an option in the 1980s.
Factual error: Older Adam says "33 years before Adele's Hello, there was Lionel Richie." Lionel Richie's Hello was released in 1984, Adele's version was 2015.
Factual error: In the parking lot at Live Aid, the logo of the PAC 12 conference is visible on a sign in the background; an athletic conference that's made up of schools in the western U.S. and did not exist during that time period. (00:04:54)
Continuity mistake: Beverly turns her head to the right twice while talking with Murray in the car.
Continuity mistake: The front view of Jeff shows him wearing a backpack with black straps, but the straps disappear in the rear view of Jeff.
Visible crew/equipment: The film crew is reflected in the chrome of the right side mirror of Beverly and Murray's car.
O Captain! My Captain! - S4-E11
Other mistake: Barry climbs up on the desk and comically recites the "Oh Captain my Captain" refrain, which is in reference to the finale of Dead Poet's Society, which came out in 1989. An actual time jump forward, that would make him 20-something, which he isn't. And makes no sense for the episode, which is still set in the mid-80s.
Factual error: Adam is outside playing tennis at school. The episode takes place "February 1980 something" and the students are all in shorts and the trees and grass are all lush and green. This wouldn't be the case in February in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
Factual error: Adam narrates that it is "April 5th, 1980-something" and is going to see the new Michael Keaton "Batman" movie with his Grandpa, but "Batman" was released in June 1989, not in April.
The Day After the Day After - S4-E22
Factual error: This episode takes place around Mother's Day, which is in May, but everybody just saw the TV movie "The Day After", which aired November 20, 1983, six months after Mother's Day.
A Wall Street Thanksgiving - S5-E7
Factual error: Adam is excited the new Atari video game of "E.T.: The Extraterrestrial" was just released. In the same episode, Uncle Marvin is telling Barry he just saw the movie "Wall Street." Problem is, the "E.T." Video game was released in December, 1982, while "Wall Street" was released in December, 1987.
The Circle Of Driving Again - S5-E8
Factual error: The show is set sometime in the 1980's, but as Adam drives the family around the neighborhood in his grandfather's car, there are SUV models from the mid-2000's to current passing by them.
The Circle Of Driving Again - S5-E8
Continuity mistake: After Adam crosses the railroad tracks in Grandpa's car, the next quick view through the front of the windshield to the back window of their car shows a street scene, and not the railroad crossing lights, gates, or tracks that should be there.
Continuity mistake: He already had his sixteenth birthday season 5 episode 8 - The Circle Of Driving Again.
Yippee Ki Yay Melon Farmer - S6-E10
Continuity mistake: While discussing their movie-making plans at the top of the staircase, Uncle Marvin and Adam instantly switch positions with each other.
Yippee Ki Yay Melon Farmer - S6-E10
Continuity mistake: When Barry enters the house, a huge pile of potatoes on the table in front of Beverly instantly switches to the kitchen counter behind her.
Answer: Not a sexual innuendo at all. Barry drove into it because he couldn't make a decision to either go his way or Lainey's way.
