Continuity mistake: When Ash goes to get a Poké Ball for the first time, the ball is upside down, but in the next shot, it is upright. Also, behind the same Poké Ball, there is another one, but in the next shot, there is not. (00:03:19)

Showdown in Pewter City - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: When Ash and Misty turn to Flint at the Pokémon Center, the left strap on Ash's rucksack is blue while the part of his jacket to left of it excluding the sleeve is green, but in the next shot, the strap is green while the part of his jacket is blue. (00:03:55)

Showdown in Pewter City - S1-E5

Character mistake: When Brock's father takes Ash to Brock's house he tells him that Brock has ten younger brothers and sisters to take care of. But during Ash's second match against Brock you can see that Brock has nine younger brothers and sisters. You can even count them when they are all holding onto Ash to prevent him from continuing with his battle against Brock. (00:09:18)

Continuity mistake: When a person says, "Uh, some burglars broke into that store last night," there is a woman with a yellow shirt and brown hair, and a man with a yellow jacket, but in the next shot, the woman has a blue shirt and orange hair, and the man has a blue and cream jacket. (00:04:29)
