Corrected entry: In the beginning of the movie, when the cruise missile is fired against the "terrorist marketplace," that missile cannot be ordered to self-destruct because it is out of range. But as a tomahawk cruise missile can only fly 880 km/h it can't at that time be more than 30 km away. That can not possibly be out of range.

Jurassic Park (1993)
Corrected entry: Nedry has supposedly worked on the island for years. It is very implausible that he would need a street sign to tell him which way to get from the control center to the East Dock.
Correction: It was raining heavily and Nedry could barely see out the front window. In his desperate and panicking state, it's easy to think that he got lost down some road he had never been on. It's not like he spent all his time on Jurassic Park studying the roads.

Goldfinger (1964)
Corrected entry: The plane with Pussy and Bond is crashing very very fast. There is no way they could jump out in a parachute - and survive - at that speed.
Correction: This is an assumption with no supporting data. They obviously grab parachutes, jump out of the plane, then pull the rip cord after they've cleared the jet (they do not "jump out in a parachute"). The submitter has no proof that people could not survive a jump from a plummeting plane.
Correction: It's not an assumption without data, it's common sense. You cannot jump out of a jet with a parachute and survive. If you tried, you'd be caught in the slipstream and smashed against the side of the jet (or possibly sucked into an engine). This is why fighter jets have ejector seats, to clear the pilot away from the plane before the parachute opens. In a jet in a dive with no attitude control, it would be impossible to even make it to the door, as the jet would be spinning and you'd be thrown around.

Titanic (1997)
Corrected entry: When asking Jack about his rootless existence, Rose's mother lifts her wine glass. She holds the glass around the stem. There are two brief shots of Molly and Jack (lasting 5 seconds) and when we see Rose's mother again, she is drinking from the wine glass, but now holding around the cup itself. Yes - she could in theory have put the glass down, changed her grip and lifted it again during the 5 seconds - but much more likely, it is a continuity error.
Correction: More likely doesn't mean absolutely, and 5 seconds is plenty of time to change grip.

Titanic (1997)
Corrected entry: Cal and Rose's cabin is on the port side of the ship. On the morning of 14 April, when they are having breakfast, the sun comes in through their windows directly from the side, and actually a bit from the front. As the ship was sailing West, that puts the sun in the Southwest where it only is in the afternoon.
Correction: That far north, at that time of the year, the sun is always in the southern part of the sky, both morning and afternoon.

Titanic (1997)
Corrected entry: Why does Brock call Caledon a 'son of a bitch' during the dive? At that time he doesn't know he was a bad guy. He was just a wealthy man who lost some expensive jewelry at a ship disaster.

Titanic (1997)
Corrected entry: On deck during the sinking Cal says about Jack's drawing 'Too bad I didn't keep it. It will be worth a lot more in the morning'. But he did keep it! He actually even put it back in the safe.
Correction: Cal meant to keep it with him when he gets off the ship. Since the ship is sinking, the safe will be at the bottom of the ocean very shortly. Besides, he was probably being sarcastic.

Die Hard 2 (1990)
Corrected entry: In the first shot of McClane on the snowmobile his breath can be seen in the air in front of his face. But he's driving so fast that that would be impossible. (01:30:50)
Correction: It's not shown in front of his face, it's to right of his face, and he goes past it quite quickly. There's nothing impossible about it. I have a snowmobile myself and witness this just about every time I go out on it.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007)
Corrected entry: The reenactment of Lincoln's murder is not historically correct. Booth shot the president in the back of the head. One of Lincoln's guests - Major Rathbone - jumped from his seat and tried to prevent Booth from escaping, but Booth stabbed the Major violently in the arm with a knife. Rathbone quickly recovered and grabbed onto Booth's coat as he was preparing to jump from the sill of the box. Booth vaulted over the rail and down to the stage. His foot was caught on the Treasury flag, and Booth came down full-face to the audience, thus breaking his leg.
Correction: This is essentially what is depicted in the film, though for time the sequence had to be abridged and the fight with Rathbone is omitted. Booth's foot is shown catching in the flag, causing him to crash on the stage. The scene even includes the correct line being spoken during the play right before Lincoln is shot. There are other minor details about the scene the film flubs, but the broad sequence isn't one of them.

Seven (1995)
Corrected entry: When Somerset visits Mills' apartment, a subway train passes very close by and everything starts shaking. Somerset explains how they were tricked by the real estate agent. But this obviously takes place after they have had dinner, and thus Somerset must have been in the apartment for quite a while - they must have already had trains passing and that conversation already.

A Good Year (2006)
Corrected entry: Max would have died from hypothermia if he stayed in the filling pool that long. The water coming into the pool would have been very cold.
Correction: The time of year wouldn't have allowed the water to be all that cold. The water from the discharge pipes would likewise irrigate the vineyard and provide the water for indoor plumbing for the bathroom, kitchen etc. Also note that after the tennis game between Max and Francois how both were soaked in sweat.

Cloverfield (2008)
Corrected entry: When he's walking in the subway, Rob's shirt has a dark triangle of sweat (and dirt) on the back. In one clip the triangle is barely visible and the shirt looks a lot cleaner than before. In the next clip, the triangle is very clear again.
Correction: Rob takes his jacket off once they get in the subway station because he is hot and sweating a lot from running from the monster, thus the initial dark sweat spot on his back. They take a slow steady pace at first and since he is walking without his jacket, his sweat spot could have dried in between Hud's cuts. In the next cut they have obviously picked up the pace and the sweat spot appears darker from the long walk since after this cut they have a brief scuffle with the parasites and find themselves at 59th. South Brooklyn to 59th street near central park is not a short walk.

The International (2009)
Corrected entry: When the one-legged sniper arrives in New York, he is picked up by surveillance cameras, and the pictures from there are used to track him down. But every person arriving in the US is photographed at customs, so there would be a clear portrait of him on file - and no need to use the blurry surveillance picture.
Correction: Except that it is easy to "fool" facial recognition software by using a disguise. The surveillance photo, even if blurry, would be the most up to date photo they have.

The International (2009)
Corrected entry: It is extremely unlikely that all those men with machine guns would be able to get into the Guggenheim - not that I've been there, but I'm pretty sure there are metal detectors and that they do not let guys with guns into the museum.
Correction: Reguardless of whether or not there are metal detectors, if 10 guys with machine guns show up, you are not gonna stop them. it is entirely possible that they were let in by a bribed security guard or that they threatened the guards with the guns.

You Only Live Twice (1967)
Corrected entry: Due to the Earth's gravity, is it impossible to land a space craft vertically, braking by using booster rockets (as was supposedly done on the Moon). It would require almost as much power and fuel as at lift-off.
Correction: Leaving aside the implication that the Moon landings never happened (and if they didn't, why didn't the Russians blow the whistle on the whole thing?) a rocket can land vertically, using booster rockets. The Delta Clipper, or DC-X, tested by McDonnell-Douglas in 1993, did exactly that in two test flights. See http://www.hq.nasa.gov/pao/History/x-33/menu_dcx.htm and http://www.globalsecurity.org/space/systems/dc-x.htm The failure of the DC-X was not related to vertical takeoff and landing but to human error and lack fo funding.

You Only Live Twice (1967)
Corrected entry: The American astronaut says 'My lifeline is cut!' before his lifeline is cut. He actually doesn't know it's gonna be cut.
Correction: He doesn't say "cut", since his speech gets 'cut' off before he can finish the sentence. He could've been about to say "caught" or something else.

Octopussy (1983)
Corrected entry: There is no way Bond has time to switch the Faberge eggs. You can see his fingers the whole way below the booklet. His finger position does not change. It is impossible that he opened his fingers and grabbed the other egg in that motion. (00:21:50)
Correction: I have re-watched this scene dozens of times; in the fraction of a second that his hand is behind the booklet a person with good sleight-of-hand skills could drop one egg and pick up another. Not very likely that he could have made the switch and positioned his hand on the fake egg exactly as it was on the real egg, but not impossible.

Prison Break (2005)
Corrected entry: Season 2, Episode 10: T-Bag is linked to the heater when the cops start knocking on the door. He goes down to bite his hand off, and has completed that and gotten away before the cops enter. How long were they knocking on that door?!
Correction: They also had to break in in order to enter. Lawful minimum time before they can do that is, I believe, around 10 minutes. Time compression was used, and that time seems sufficient.

The Living Daylights (1987)
Corrected entry: The cellophane on Cara's flowers is foggy in the beginning of the chatting scene after the concert, but when Kamran Shah arrives, the cellophane is clear.
Correction: Quite simply the condensation on the cellophane has evaporated as the flowers and packaging warm up to room temperature.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003)
Corrected entry: When the rowing boats are towing the ship into the fog, the ropes are not tight. They are actually very loose - so they can't be pulling much.
Correction: Actually these loose ropes can only be seen in two scenes. In one scene, just one of the three boats is shown, so the other two could be a bit ahead of that one. In the second scene, the Surprise has reached the fog and the boat crews stop pulling like madmen, hence the loose rope. No mistake here.

Correction: Says you. It's very clear from the film that the missile is in the mountains, and is using a terrain-following flight profile, staying low to avoid detection. Under those circumstances, it's entirely plausible that the signal would be blocked by the mountainous terrain.
