Visible crew/equipment: When Hank gives John-Boy a lift home, he opens the rumble seat and places his bags inside. During the drive, a crew member's hat is moving around in the rumble seat area, at both the left and right sides of the screen, particularly the left side. (00:14:00)

Other mistake: After John-Boy leaves, in the last scene we hear Jim-Bob ask about the magazines, but subtitles claim it is Ben who asks, then as we hear Jason answer the queston, the subtitles tell us it is Jim-Bob who answers. (00:47:00)

Revealing mistake: While John-Boy is in his old bedroom with John Curtis, having a heart-to-heart conversation with the baby, in all the wideshots from behind the crib the edge of the set is visible at the right side of the screen. (00:21:20)

Visible crew/equipment: After Zeb tells the girls that the old dog, Sam, just wants to find a place to die in peace and dignity, when it cuts to John and Willie working inside the mill a crew member (wearing a red, short sleeve shirt) is hiding, toward the right side of the screen. Then after the shot of the girls on the hill, at the start of the next shot as the truck drives up, a bit of camera equipment is visible at the top, right side of the screen. (00:43:00)

Visible crew/equipment: At the mill, when John tells Buck that Willie Brimmer might be at the Montgomery cabin with Jim-Bob, in the next closeup of John we see a billowy trail of cigarette smoke at the bottom right corner of the screen, but the only people standing there are Elizabeth, John, and Buck, and none are smoking. Presumably, it was someone offscreen smoking too close to the camera (similar to a mistake in 1978's "Halloween"). (00:26:05)

Visible crew/equipment: When Jason and Verdie go back to the Unwin estate and this time are accompanied by Zeb, they are told that Miss Unwin is at the greenhouse, then just as Jason drives on ahead a few of the crew's modern-day trailers are visible at both the left side and the right side of the screen. Visible crew/equipment: When Zeb pulls Esther into the living room with everyone else, Zeb walks over to the small black tape mark on the rug and stands on his mark. Then, as Zeb begins to talk about Erin's entry into the contest, in this wide shot lighting equipment is visible at the right side of the screen. It's visible again when John hugs Erin in the last shot of the scene. (00:25:00)

Factual error: While Jason is practicing piano at the Dew Drop he hears the horn playing outside, then when he walks out of the back door he sees Josh on the trumpet, and in the first shot of Josh we see a blue modern vehicle moving behind the bush, at the top left corner of the screen. (00:05:00)

Continuity mistake: When Zeb asks Olivia about dinner he takes a whole carrot, snaps it in half, and begins chomping as he walks toward the meeting in the living room, but when Esther takes the carrot away from Zeb it's quite a whole carrot, with only the tip gone. (00:05:00)

Continuity mistake: After the rock is thrown, when John-Boy is looking through the broken window while holding the rock he's wearing grey pleated trousers, but it cuts to a closeup of the rock in John-Boy's hands and now he's wearing what looks like blue jeans, plus the hands holding the rock look nothing like John-Boy's hands.
