Continuity mistake: While Radar's spying on Baker's hand for Hawkeye during the poker game, Baker's only wearing his T-shirt later in the game, but in the views from Radar's telescope eyepiece Baker's still wearing his jacket.

Visible crew/equipment: When General Barker opens the doors to Henry's office and finds Radar sitting behind the desk, we can see Barker's curved chalk foot marks on the floor beside the desk, where the actor will stand in a moment.

Other mistake: At the end, after General Barker tells Henry that he should give Frank a high colonic and send him on a 10 mile hike, Klinger shows up in front of them supposedly naked, but we can see the top of whatever the actor's really wearing.

Continuity mistake: When Radar walks into Henry's office to tell him that there's a general there to see him, we get a good view of Henry's new desk and its beautiful ornate design, but later when Hawkeye and Trapper are carrying the desk and then it's lifted out by chopper it's a completely different desk - also note that this desk has casters.

Trivia: The photograph of Mildred on Colonel Potter's desk is actually a photo of Harry Morgan's then real wife, Eileen Detchon, to whom he was married for 45 years and who passed away 2 years after the series wrapped.

Trivia: A real wildfire occurred at the Fox Ranch M*A*S*H outdoor set, located in Malibu Creek State Park, destroying the entire set. The fire was filmed, and the producers and writers decided to incorporate the fire in the reworked script for the series finale.

Trivia: The M*A*S*H finale "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" was actually shot earlier in season 11's production schedule. "As Time Goes By" was the final episode shot.

Trivia: When Hawkeye is temporarily blinded, he meets a soldier, Tom Straw, whose face is covered in bandages having just been blinded in battle. He is played by Tom Sullivan, who is actually blind in real life. This is the first episode that Judy Farrell, ex-wife of Mike Farrell (B.J.), appears as Nurse Abel.

Continuity mistake: Charles enters Col. Potter's quarters while Potter is sleeping. Potter sits up in bed while Charles whines and complains about his sister's engagement. In all the shots facing Potter, the hair at the top of his head is very messy and pointing up. In every shot facing Charles, Potter's hair is normal.
