Plot hole: At the end of the tunnel, the helicopter has been attached to the train; Phelps knows it, the pilot knows it, and yet Phelps still climbs across to the helicopter like he's trying to escape, but there's nowhere to go. He's deliberately climbing into a potentially lethal situation he can't get out of for no reason except it makes it convenient to kill two bad guys with one explosion.

Suggested correction: Phelps detached the cable before he jumped to the helicopter. The problem was Krieger tried to kill Hunt first, before trying to escape.

Grand Prix (1966)

Corrected entry: Start of the movie when the count down begins, when he gets to 3 he is only showing 2 fingers.

Correction: He is. He's just not using the "usual" three fingers (Index, middle, and ring fingers). He's using the index, middle finger, and thumb.

Corrected entry: When Dak is flying his ship and talking to Luke, the background image is moving backwards, making it look like Dak is flying backwards.

Correction: Dak is not flying a ship, he is Luke's harpoon gunner and is facing backward. Luke even talks to him in the hangar before climbing into the snowspeeder.

Patton (1970)

Corrected entry: The Germans are using a white board to show casualties. White boards were not in use till the 50's.

Correction: Captain Steiger is using a grease pencil, which has been around since at least 1921.

Corrected entry: When they discover that the Genesis device has been activated, Kirk volunteers to beam over to stop it. Even though he is told it can't be stopped, that would indicate the transporters are still working. Why does nobody suggest beaming the device itself off of the Reliant and out into space with the widest possible dispersion, like they did in "Wolf in the Fold" to Redjac?

Garlonuss

Correction: The Genesis wave forming was interfering with transporter lock, making this solution impossible.

Grumpy Scot

Nice. Source?

Correction: If they can't even get a lousy phaser lock or a clear picture on the view screen inside the nebula I have an extremely hard time buying that the transporter would've worked out for them in any capacity. Seems likely to me that in his haste and desperation Kirk simply blurted out the first thing that came to mind. For all we know David's "You can't" was actually him reminding Kirk that they can't just beam aboard the Reliant in their situation.

TonyPH

Correction: The source would be "Star Trek." Anytime the crew needs something to get out of danger, it's inexplicably unavailable. ST: TNG Season 5 Episode 18, Cause and Effect, the Enterprise tries to back from the anomaly, the maneuvering thrusters are suddenly non responsive, with no explanation.

Daybreak: Part 3 - S4-E21

Plot hole: During the last Galactica jump, Kara enters different coordinates that she puts together in her head from her memories. There is no explanation as to how the fleet came up with those coordinates instead of the rendezvous coordinates. If the fleet had them as the rendezvous coordinates, Kara wouldn't have said "I don't have the rendezvous coordinates!" Right before the Galactica jump. Bill Adama also wouldn't have said in response "It doesn't matter! Just jump is out of here..." (00:05:54)

Suggested correction: In the flashback, Kara said "I thought that, if I assigned numbers to the notes." Those were the numbers she used for the notes to "All Along the Watchtower." She remembered them and used those for the coordinates.

Cars (2006)

Trivia: The car crash suffered by The King in the last race is very similar to the accident that Richard Petty had in 1970.

Suggested correction: The ending crash has no similarities with Richard Petty's crash in 1970 at Darlington. The King's car didn't hit a wall. It most likely took inspiration from Richard's 1988 crash at Daytona.

Ford v Ferrari (2019)

Corrected entry: While Molly and Ken are talking on the side of the road a UPS truck drives by that has the new logo on the side of it, which wasn't used until around 2005.

Correction: If you freeze frame the truck, you can tell it's the logo with the the bowed package above the shield which started in 1961 (http://logok.org/ups-logo/). But since you need to use freeze frame to see it, it's an invalid mistake anyway.

Apollo 13 (1995)

Corrected entry: Near the end of the movie, when the Apollo 13 is about to return to Earth, a lady goes to collect the Lovells' eldest daughter from her bedroom to join the rest of her waiting family by the television. She appears to calls her Mary, the actresses real name, not Barbara the name of the daughter in real life.

Correction: She isn't Barbara Lovell, she was Fred Haise's wife Mary.

Grand Prix (1966)

Continuity mistake: When a car loses control on the high bank right hand turn and goes flying over the outside edge of the track, another angle is shown from the long back straight, but it shows the crashing car going from left to right, which is literally impossible because the car was going from right to left.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: I don't know what this entry is referring to. The sequence is, Sarti's Ferrari hits the exhaust pipe and starts spinning counter-clockwise (Sarti is looking to the right and first turns full right). The shot is from the front and the car is going left to right. The Ferrari gains traction and goes through the guard rail. The shot changes from in front (left to right) to above and behind with the car moving right to left. The next shot is from the straight that goes under the North banking. Sarti's car falls through the tree, on fire.

Apollo 13 (1995)

Corrected entry: When Engine 5 of the S-II booster fails, as Lovell is waiting for word from Houston, he stares at the abort handle. However, at that point, the escape tower had already been jettisoned, so turning the abort handle would not have done anything.

Correction: The abort handle would jettison the command and service modules. Look under Mode II here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_abort_modes.

David George

Perhaps, but jettisoning the command module wouldn't have been of any use in a launch emergency. The purpose of the abort handle was to get the spacecraft away from an out-of-control booster that might crash, explode, or break apart (which was the fear with the center engine malfunction), so simply separating the CM wouldn't do any good without the rockets in the escape tower (which had already been jettisoned by that point) to propel the CM a safe distance away from the booster. In practical terms, the abort handle was no longer any use to the astronauts after jettisoning the tower, so Lovell fixating on it when he does in the movie is still a mistake.

As mentioned by David George please read the listed Wikipedia article. Quote: "With the LES jettisoned, the Command/Service Module (CSM) would separate as a whole from the rocket and use its large engine and RCS engines to move clear of the rocket and align itself. The CM would then separate from the SM and splash down." Source: 'https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_abort_modes' See: 'Mode II' So the movie does state a possible action for this moment and is not regarded as a factual mistake.

Top Gun (1986)

Corrected entry: During the opening scene, some of the aircraft shown taxiing and being launched from the carrier constantly switch between being an F-14 Tomcat and an A-7 Corsair.

Correction: A-7s were in service with the Navy at the time. The opening scene was showing an overview of carrier operations in a montage.
